Colour Creations - Week #20 - Flirty Flamingo

The participants in AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop are all Stampin' Up! demonstrators and members of Art With Heart. We love to Blog Hop sharing all the Stampin' Up! Colours. This is week 20 of Colour Creations Blog Hop, and we are sharing Flirty Flamingo.

Brian King shared this Fancy fold a while back - he called it the Mixed-Up Fun Fold. I've searched for the post but can't find it to be able to link back. Sorry. In many ways, this Fun fold is similar to the one I shared using Evening Evergreen last week.

Last week I finally broke open my packet of Texture Chic 12" x 12" specialty designer series paper, to make some masculine cards. This time I picked the softly feminine Petal Pink, which pairs beautifully with Flirty Flamingo, our feature colour.

Mostly the card is neutral, with a pop of Flirty Flamingo in a couple of flowers. Season of Chic stamp set includes images for every season of the year, and these sentiments in a whimsical duo of fonts. You will want to order the bundle for the huge range of dies to co-ordinate and add to the images.

Flirty Flamingo ink was blended over the Crumb Cake stamping on the inside.

Let's hop over and see what Theresa is sharing this week.

If at any time you find a broken link, please head to the blog of this week’s host of the AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop, Cathy Proctor, and she will have the list of all participants.

Colour Creations - Week #16- Crushed Curry

The participants in Colour Creations are all Stampin' Up! demonstrators and members of Art With Heart. We love to Blog Hop sharing all the Stampin' Up! Colours. This is week 16 of Colour Creations Blog Hop, and we are sharing Crushed Curry.

Crushed Curry is slotted into the family of Regals. It's a spicy yellow, not as brown as mustard, and the name seems to suit it. I hadn't used it much while Bumblebee was an In Color, but Crushed Curry is back in favour!

My water colouring continues with this week's projects. I still had some experimenting to do. Using wet Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, drops of ink were added to the piece. I mainly used ink refills for this, but where I didn't have one, an acrylic block touched to the ink pad lifts enough to drop with a water painter.

The background is the main feature of this card, but Ranuculus Romance (P 97 AC) was my chosen stamp for the sentiment, while the Ranuculus Dies (P173 AC) have some amazing pieces including the 2 leaves.

After smudging the inside with Crushed Curry ink on my hand, I had to think of a way to save the day. A little stamping inside hid the mess, while still allowing me to write a message.

Colour Creations - Petal Pink

The participants in Colour Creations are all Stampin' Up! demonstrators and members of Art With Heart. This is week 35 of Colour Creations Blog Hop, and as we use the colours alphabetically, we are up to Petal Pink.
This colour tones really well with Flirty Flamingo, and I added Pale Papaya and Mango Melody for some added zing. It really is a sweet shade.

Color & Contour is a favourite stamp set, and the Scalloped Contour dies are a 'must-have' for anyone who has a die cut machine. Why not order them together, since it means a saving of 10% off both items.

While seeking inspiration for my card, I did refer to the Stampin' Up! annual catalogue, and way down the back is a picture illustrating the dies, which I pretty much CASEd, with a few tweaks here and there.

It really allows every part of this bundle to shine.

Next we head to the lovely, talented Tina Gillespie

AWH Colour Creations Lovely Lipstick

This week the featured colour for Colour Creations is Lovely Lipstick, and I had some fun trying it out with a couple of  different shades from the Stampin' Up! range, and a new stamp from the Occasions catalogue - Incredible Like You. You can check out what other Art With Heart team members have made by clicking back to Catherine at What Cathy Made.

Incredible Like You was an "all attendee" gift at the Stampin' Up!® Onstage Convention. I've already received a lovely birthday card made with this stamp set from the lovely Kelly Kent in West Australia, so I was keen to have a little play too.

My first colour choice was Lovely Lipstick, Call Me Clover and Gray Granite. The lines are easily stamped using the Stamparatus 'step' method. The flowers are also easy to fill with colour, using a stamp which lines up perfectly. For the second, Pool Party was substituted for the Gray Granite and the orientation changed.

AWH Colour Creations Cajun Craze

We are a group of Stampin' Up!® demonstrators from the Art With Heart team. With the Stampin' Up!® colour revamp, Catherine Proctor suggsested we might like to blog hop, featuring a different colour every week. This week the spotlight is on Cajun Craze. Cajun Craze has been around a long time. In fact, my ink pad is the one I inherited from my mother 9 years ago. I haven't even re-inked it yet! In all honesty, I didn't like it much, but I have to admit that using it with Nature's Poem Suite, it seems very .... manly.

Happy 100th Birthday Eric!!!

I heard about Eric from a friend, who lived near him when she was a child. I love making cards for special birthdays, so when Eric's granddaughter put out the call for him to get 100 birthday cards for his 100th birthday, I was rapt to participate. Eric will not be receiving my husband's antique plane, used to prop the card on. I allow him to display it on the oak buffet, as it looks nice with it's worn, pale-coloured timber. Poor man isn't given a lot of say in the domestic area of our lives!!!!

Nature's Poem designer Series Paper has this lovely paper in Cajun Craze, which I do like because of the textured appearance. It is actually perfectly smooth, but doesn't it look great? It needed the numbers to declare the grand age that Eric has reached, and even though Stampin' Up!® has retired the Large Numbers, I will keep using them until we have a replacement.

I wanted a long, thin, birthday sentiment, and couldn't locate one. It needed to be thin to not distract from the numbers. I use Perennial Birthday a lot, and decided to use the Stamparatus to change the 2-level greeting into a long single-layer. I found that easy to do, and will probably attempt that more often now. It was stamped onto the grid sheet, and then the strip of paper was placed in the correct position, repositioned, stamped, and it was complete.

The log and leaves have been stamped and sponged for colour depth. Twine has been tied under the central striped panel and the inside was stamped with leaves and a short verse also from Perennial Birthday.

Eric is celebrating his birthday on 28th July, so this card is already in the mail, to make sure it is there in plenty of time.  If you pop back to Catherine Proctor you will see a full list of participants in this week's colour challenge/hop.

AWH Colour Creations Blueberry Bushel

We are a group of Stampin' Up!® demonstrators from the Art With Heart team. With the Stampin' Up!® colour revamp, Catherine Proctor suggsested we might like to blog hop, featuring a different colour every week. This week the spotlight is on Blueberry Bushel. If you pop back to Catherine Proctor you will see a full list of participants.

Have I mentioned that blue is my favourite colour? Actually colour - full stop - is my favourite really. I watched a video by Ronda Wade showing how to make a gift bag and hanging card from 2 sheets of 12" X 12" paper, which was fabulous, but I wanted to use this pretty paper. Someone mentioned that if you halved the measurements it would work the same for a 6" square paper, so I tried it out, and it did! Contact me if you'd like the measurements, happy to help.

That even worked for the tiny hanging card, which I more-or-less winged so that it would fit through the slot. It meant cutting a sliver off to fit it through with a backing card measuring 2 inches. The Stitched All Round bundle is just perfect with this lovely stamp which sits very nicely on top of the die cut fancy stitched circle.

Here is the tiny tag so you can see the 'hanger' - I do rather like that idea, no sticky tape or envelope needed. I popped a couple of Tombow inside the bag to give an idea of the size. Don't forget that you can stock up on patterned paper (DSP) in July with buy three, get one free. hop over to the shop to see more.

Abstract Impressions also received an inking this week. I'm on holiday from work, so although I have just spent three days away at my son's home, I've still had enough time for crafting. I've kept the stamping fairly simple as I get used to these 'different' shapes. Call Me Clover and Pineapple Punch, both part of the same InColor family as Blueberry Bushel, fit in to the picture just fine.

I became just a tad excited when the sun came out one day, and the temperature hit 17° - not a bad effort for a winters day. I took my card outside to have its photo taken!

This is another DSP from Garden Impressions DSP in the 6 inch square format. It is also one of the papers on offer for July in the buy 3, get the 4th one free promo. Get in touch for details. I've noticed that it looks quite similar to my sign off  image, but they haven't added the speckles of gold. The stamp set is new for the Annual catalogue, Sitting Pretty, with some sweet sentiments. I heat embossed 'best friends' with white embossing powder, it stands out better that way. The bird looks a little startled, maybe its not sure about the bulldog?
