You have no idea how nervous I get when I see a colour challenge using this many colours! To the point that I don't usually take that challenge on, and I wasn't going to try this ColourQ challenge this week, despite LOVING what the design team have done with it.
Then I broke it down into manageable chunks, like you ought to with any problem you're trying to solve. I took out sheets of the colours from the Designer Series Paper Stacks. That seemed to help a lot, although I discarded the Night of Navy in favour of a plain sheet of card embossed with Fancy Fan Embossing Folder. I only had a sliver of Lucky Limeade to work with too, which is where the sketch at Fab Friday came in. I could make that sliver into one of the flags!
At some point I decided that I wouldn't attempt floral for the feature panel, Let's just keep it tailored and tidy with a tag from Oh My Goodies. I really like that those tags are all cut with the Deco Label Framelits, because I was able to make a plain white one, just the next size up to give it a clean border. There were two stamped, one in Strawberry Slush, the other in Bermuda Bay and then I chose which would be the main, and which would be the highlighted word. It certainly is an interesting colour palette.I have a feeling my next birthday might just be an "umpteenth" one!!!!
