Envelope Punch Board Card

We have joined up with the other Stampin' Up!® demonstrators at the AirBNB condo in Orlando. There is Bec from Queensland, Sandra from Victoria like me (but we'd never met before this), Bronwyn from Tasmania, Judy is another Victorian and Tina from South Australia. Of course, my travelling companion Kathryn is also from South Australia. The Stamparatus came in handy for repeat stamping these cards, and even the palm trees on the outside sentiment was stamped with them still in place on the Stamparatus, because the trunks were lined up with the leaf canopy.

One of the traditions of these get togethers are 'roomie gifts'. Usually they are handmade, maybe 3-D items or a container with small items inside. In an effort to travel as lightly as possible, knowing that we pay $35US per case on our internal flights in the States, I have made these little envelope cards, which we hope to fill with something we find over there.

Pinwheel Envelope Card

When I was planning my display for Onstage Sydney last April, I was looking for something a little bit different. Already my friend Carmela had shown me this card, made by The Paper Pixie. It is so easy but terrific for showing off both sides of designer series paper, so when this GORGEOUS 'Share What You Love' DSP was in my box of goodies to create Onstage samples, It was a definite on my to-do list.

I can't believe that I have almost used a whole packet of this paper, as it is 24 double-sided sheets. When Claire Daly asked me to present at a team training event, I thought it was a good opportunity to share this cute and easy fold. I will endeavour to share the measurements and instructions as clearly as I can, but contact me if you'd like to know more. You need to own an Envelope Punch Board or a Diagonal score board plate. The Envelope Punch Board is a really useful item, and would give the most diversity of use, if you need to purchase for this project.

1. Cut a piece of DSP to measure 8 inches by 8 inches.
2. Take your Envelope Punch Board and place paper at 3 inch mark. Score, diagonally.
3. Rotate 90­­° and repeat for all 4 sides (please note, measuring at 3" each time)
4. This leaves triangles, which need to be removed with paper snips.
5. Next, score one edge of the flap at 1 inch. When the flap is pointing toward you, it is the right-hand side that is scored and folded. I like it to be flush with the right hand corner, which may be a little more than 1 inch.
6. Beginning at the bottom, fold and tuck the pinwheels in, much like closing the top of a box.

These are some Pinwheel cards I made on Saturday using the new Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper. Working smarter, not harder, I will use these envelope cards for my Catalogue Launch. What better way, to hide a mystery prize? I printed the prizes out onto Whisper White and cut with the largest of the Stitched Shape Squares. Next, using a larger square framelit, I cut one of the colours from the DSP and all had a 9cm by 9 cm square of Night of Navy. I enjoyed using the Balmy Blue ink for the vase, and memento black for the flowers. They belong to the new stamp set, Various Vases, designed by Mary Fish to mark her million dollars of sales.

Carmela was the only member of my team who was able to accompany me to the team training day, her first big Stampin' Up! event.

It's a very serious business, demonstrating to other demonstrators, but you should have heard them gasp when they thought I was about to cut, not score!!!!

Onstage April 2018 Blog Hop

 The box of goodies was amazing and I was anxious to do the best job possible for Stampin' Up!® and my fellow demonstrators attending Sydney Onstage. The 'Share What You Love Suite' made up the majority of my goodies, and this delightful designer series paper was the starting point for me. Reading the listed colours I quickly realised that Mossy Meadow, Mint Macaron and Blackberry Bliss were returning, and it took a lot of self-control not to share that information. Luckily I hang on to my retired In Colors after a colour revamp happened 5-6 years ago, and Stampin' Up! warned us that we might like to do that as you'd never know when they might return.

This punch was also in the box, so I punched squares of DSP and thought about how I could incorporate them. The floral stamp in Love What You Do is simple yet stylish, and the sentiments in the set are very sweet, especially if you ever send Random Act of Kindness cards. 

Square format cards really appeal to me, despite needing to make the envelope for them. Thank goodness for the Envelope Punch Board. These are quite a simple design, utilising many images from Love What You Do.

 Again, those punched shapes have been utilised on another card with the Love What You Do stamp, and as Tranquil Tide is another colour in the Share What You Love specialty designer series paper, a piece with textured embossing was included. Leaves die cut with the Petals & More Thinlits Dies were layered under the hand cut flowers. I'm so pleased that Petal Palette is also carrying over into the new catalogue, along with the dies.  Because I had a pack of In Color clips, I used a Lovely Lipstick one here, and it seems to tie in with Berry Bliss etc just fine.

As well as the punch, there was a Thank You thinlit. A great addition to the catalogue, and my stash!
A couple of images were cut and layered with a shadow effect on the second card, just a single on the first..

This paper is my absolute favourite from the whole pack, and there is only the tiniest bit left now. I thought the Berry Bliss ribbon added a luscious touch here. The Glitter Enamel Dots are not carrying over in those colours, so if you love them as much as I do, you'll be adding them to an order soon.

 Stitched squares helped to ground my punched shapes on the green card.

Isn't that a beautiful sentiment? I featured that centre-stage here, with Grapefruit Grove embossing powder around the edge of the label, and some of the new In Color ribbon. Calypso Coral with Basic Black made up the rest of this card adding a richer dimension.

 Now, 3D items are not my strong point, so I popped off to the local dollar shop and purchased a clip board. My plan was to heat emboss the big clip and colour it Grapefruit Grove but that didn't work out so well. Next, hubby got into the act and totally removed the BIG clip, which made it so much easier to cover with DSP. I brayered the first lot of paper with white Craft ink, and fussy cut a piece of floral pearlised paper to lay on top.You may be able to see that I heat embossed around the art piece on the clip board too. Love those tiny leaves, so delicate.

The small clips which you'll be able to buy once the catalogue goes live (or during May possibly for demonstrators) fit at a pinch. The letters are another stamp set, Lined Alphabet, and will have dies available too. I didn't receive those so hand cut mine after colouring with Stampin' Blends in shades of coral and orange.

One last way to show off the Share What You Love SDSP with a pizza box and 3 inch square notecards. Stampin' Up! make cute little envelopes, and I just had to cut card and fold to fit. These are a sweet size to add with a gift of flowers or chocolates, the size won't overwhelm. I used some copper foil paper and embossing powder for this set.

Share What You Love is an early release suite and is available now for demonstrators, with some free items included in the bundles. Customers, you'll be able to order through your demonstrator from May 1st, even though the rest of the catalogue doesn't go 'live' until June 1st. If you can't wait that long, you could join up as a demonstrator. The largest bundle will see you well on your way, but you'll still have $12.25 left to spend, and you will have only paid $169.00 for all this papery goodness. CTC#151 Catalogue covers and Hostess sets

Welcome back to another round of blog hopping with the CASE-ing The Catty Crew. My name is Rachel, and I'm a Stampin' Up!® demonstrator in South Morang (outer Melbourne) in Australia. All of the crew members are from the South Pacific (Australia & New Zealand) so if you are looking for a demonstrator, one of us should be nearby. This week is a bit different because the CTC crew are CASE-ing catalogue covers or Hostess sets. There is so much inspiration in both those areas, it will be a great blog hop. I've CASE-d the Mini Pizza Box in the picture below several weeks back with Musical Season, but this time I used the Hostess stamp set pictured, Seasons of Whimsy. I love using the quirky ornaments, the sparklers and the wreath. If your party or big order reaches $250 AU, you get 10 % in Hostess dollars to spend. This stamp set in clear mount (red rubber stamps that you mount onto acrylic blocks) is $21, and only available to hostesses - which is also you if your order reaches that amount. If you'd like to have a party, at your home, I have some dates available for the last weekend in October, and a few more in November.

I began by CASE-ing the square shape for my card. It does mean that I need to make envelopes, but that is easy enough with an Envelope Punch Board. For my first card Merry Patterns was the pick. Technically, it was a hostess set too, as it was sent free with any order reaching $450 in sales through September and October. You still have time to qualify but it might be a rush!

This card was layered with a piece of Pear Pizzazz and then another slightly smaller white square on top. I used the largest of the Stitched Shapes Circles to cut a piece in thick Whisper White, and the inside of the shape to pencil a circle as a guide to stamp the branches of a wreath. That piece is also from Merry Patterns, but I'm sure there is a suitable piece in most Christmas stamp sets.

Great news for all who like colouring their stamped images - Stampin' Up! will have alcohol markers Stampin' Blends available to you from 1st November. I bought a half dozen to try them out during the Demonstrator pre-order period, and after a little play, quickly ordered the rest. They are easy to use, and I'd love to give you a lesson if you think you need one.

  

My son helped out by taking video of me explaining a bit more about CASE-ing, and the card above was the one I was making in the video. However, as I put it together, I felt that the wreath wasn't showing enough, so when he finished filming I took it apart and stamped some protruding branches. When I reassembled the card, I placed the Cherry Cobbler banner at the bottom instead. You can see the video on my Facebook page. The stamps were still on the block so I stamped another pair to try some more fun colouring with Stampin' Blends. They are pretty luscious, aren't they?

Stampin' Up!® page 71

Welcome back to another blog hop with the crew from CASE-ing The Catty. Do keep on hopping along, to see what else the crew are sharing.Our challenge this week is to CASE from the NEW Annual Stampin' Up!® catalogue, birthdays. I chose to focus on page 70-71. I've mixed together a label off the Pool Party gift bag using Milestone Moments, and elements from the Birthday Blooms card on the other page. It's quite easy to CASE a bag and turn it into a card, and the ribbon and banner could have been included on the card without too much trouble.

I've kept my card quite simple with Shimmery White card cut 10" by 5" to make a square card. Milestone Moments is where you will find an endless supply of these words for special birthdays, anniversaries etc. Firstly, I stamped the 'fiftieth' twice with versamark and heat-embossed with gold, before adding the 'happy' and 'birthday' above and below in Berry Burst. The reason for making two tags was in case of a smudge, but both turned out, so one was cut with the stitched circle and the other with the stitched oval. You'll notice that the oval was chosen, and the circle goes into a basket
of bits and pieces, to use at a later date. The doiley has been included at the bottom of the sentiment
label, but its a gold foil one and there's some gold metallic thread twisted behind.

After trying out where the sentiment would sit I placed Birthday Bloom toward the top left , and stamped the image with Versamark before heat-embossing gold. It did look lovely in plain gold, but I decided to water colour using an Aqua painter and Berry Burst ink for the flower, with Crushed Curry in the centre. The leaves have a mix of Old Olive, Tranquil Tide and Lemon-Lime Twist.

Inside is a lovely verse from Everyday Occasions, also stamped in versamark and heat embossed
gold. The envelope was made on the Envelope Punch Board and also received some gold heat embossing. I've just realised I need another 50th this year too, I wonder what I will choose?

Last Hurrah For Sale-A-Bration!!!

SALE-A-Bration finishes on March 31st for another year and as usual there were some fabulous stamp sets to choose from, as well as paper packs & vellum. I love the SALE-A-Bration offerings every year. I've been thinking about which was my favourite, and going by the cards I've made, I'm thinking it is Flowering Fields.

I enjoyed putting together this grunge card with three panels back in January when SALE-A-Bration was just starting out, and this pretty watercoloured offering was even earlier and has been pinned many times on Pinterest.




Most recently, I made a set of notecards to give to an old friend of my mother's.
Again, these have been watercoloured, using ink and a combination of blender pen and Aquapainters to colour the images. The outside border is matched to a shade used on the bloom, and I stamped and coloured the envelopes to match. I have left them free of a sentiment, as I hope June will use them quickly and not hoard them for a 'special occasion'. June upcycles the magazines she receives from the boarding school that she, my mother and I all attended, which must be an effort for her, now she is 90. She truly deserves some 'happy mail'.

At the same time, I stamped this notebook which Stampin' Up!® used to sell. I wanted to keep a record of the classes I hold, who attends, and what products we used.
Four flowers were stamped and coloured straight onto the Kraft cover. A strip of Wildfower Fields Designer Series Paper was added to the base, after using the corner rounding punch from the Envelope Punch Board to round two corners. A length of ribbon finishes the notebook, along with a gold button and linen thread. The Little Letter thinlets were used to cut the title.
