Bloom & Grow FMS#392 PP#445

Today I noticed some challenges which seemed to 'call' to me, and instead of getting on with my chores, I snuck off to my craft room! There is nothing like a bit of crafting in a sun-filled studio (it's winter in Australia, so sunshine is a bonus) to start the day off right.

Bloom & Grow is a favourite of mine, lovely clear images, so easy to colour with Stampin' Blends. There wasn't an ideal sentiment in that set for this particular card, so I picked a stamp I received this week, Parcels & Petals and used this sweet sentiment.

This sketch from Freshly Made Sketches provided a perfect layout, and the colour palette from The Paper Players challenge suited the flower image. You can join their challenges too or just check them out, by clicking the links.

Have a happy crafty day!

Sending Awesome FMS#386

I've been enjoying colouring these floral images from Bloom & Grow for the last few days, and today it was time to put it into a card. One of the big greetings from Genuine Gems was heat embossed with white to really make it stand out against the black.

This is a loose interpretation of the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, but it certainly helped to inpire me.

I love using Stampin' Blends to colour these images, and I'm looking forward to some new shades being added to the range when the Annual Catalogue goes 'live' on June 4th.

Now, you can't order the first 3 items in the following shopping list until June 4th, unless you join my team and get a starter kit. Ask me for more information if you want to know more. Otherwise, all Stampin' Up products can be ordered in my Online shop, if you live in Australia like I do. I'd love to help you enjoy crafting.

Four Kitties FMS#348

With spare time on my hands this afternoon, lucky me, I decided to put off the ironing and make a card. I have been experimenting with the photopolymer stamp in the new Annual catalogue, Swirly Frames. I've made a couple of these cards with 6 frames, but the FMS challenge suggested just the four in a group, like window panes, and I happily went along that path and popped 4 kitties in place.

So obviously the other stamp used for this card is Pretty Kitty, always a fave of mine. Bella and friends featuring a cute fluffy pup is also really good in these window frames. I've coloured with blends, but haven't made much of an effert to blend. I'm not sure if this is a good effect or not. Ginger kitty looks okay, but miss tabby might need a smoother finish. Leave me your comment so I know whether to work on it some more. I have several more to finish off still, so I'd like to get them right!!!

Nature's Poem For FMS#340

Nature's Poem suite is lovely, and the soft colours on the DSP really 'speak' to me. Mint Macaron is so soft and soothing and Tranquil Tide is a beautiful, bold contrast.

Thursday is my crafting day. Actually, who am I kidding, every day is my crafting day!! It's a bit cold here in Melbourne today and I don't feel like heading out anywhere, so I'm writing cards to pop in the post and tidying up my blog. The post from FMS hit my mailbox this morning, and I thought I'd join in making something inspired by Karren's sketch.

For the life of me, I can't remember who I first saw make this card, but I've tweaked the measurements ever-so-slightly to suit the Australian size paper, (and my kind of measuring) so it possibly was a demo in the States. I love this style of card because it is a fantastic way to show off designer series paper, and doesn't it suit Karren's sketch perfectly? I particularly love the contrast of stripes along the sides of the panel.

My sentiment has been dropped a little lower on this card, but creative liscence allows these changes.

Dance FMS#322

Beautiful You was on my desk after I had finished making a card for a customer order. I usually stamp two of the image anyway, and thought it suited this card sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. Often a sketch is just what you need to start the creative juices flowing.

There is a lot you can do with a sketch like this, with its wide border. No dimensions are stipulated, so that pretty much gives you the freedom to change it around any way you like. It's great that Quilt Top TIEF carried over at the end of the holiday catalogue, I wish the whole Quilted Christmas suite did. Blends were used to colour the dancing girl and Bermuda Bay and Basic Gray seemed like a natural colour scheme.

After masking the girl, Sheet Music background stamp was randomly inked and stamped off, to give a hint of music behind the dancing girl. They seem to fit together like a hand into a glove!

Another sentiment from Beautiful You, to finish up this card. Check out the other entries at Freshly Made Sketches, you're bound to be inspired.

Enjoy your day!
