Sailboat for Boys, Tricycle for Girls

Its been quite a while since any of my cards have been selected for mention by any design teams, so it was a lovely Easter surprise when Jaydee at Paper Players picked my Sailing Along card.

I've been working on a version of this card for a baby girl, and used the Tricycle stamp from the same stamp set, Moving Forward.
It called for a different colour scheme, so Calypso Coral and Crisp Cantaloupe teamed with this cute spot from Etcetera Design Series Paper. The Window Frames Framelits were used to cut the image and a mat, the Adorning Accents Edgelits was used again for the spot and its mat, and again, thicker baker's twine from SALE-A-BRATION. Although you can hardly see it in the photo, the same 'congratulations on your new baby' from Friendly Phrases was stamped at the bottom of the card.

So there you are, one for a boy, one for a girl. Just waiting for the new babies to arrive!

Birthday Bling PP152

You can't ever have too much bling can you?  Yes, that's what I thought too, so this is what I came up with!

We are so lucky to have so many shades of blue in the Stampin' Up! range but I chose three for my ink and added in another for the card base.

I broke out Daydream Medallion for a change of pace, and overlapped the two large ones. The biggest is stamped with Midnight Muse, the medium one is Bermuda Bay and for the tiny layered ones I used Soft Sky. Maybe it is a little light in colour , it looks quite pretty IRL tho'.
I found that the little, fancy medallion punched out quite nicely with the 1¼ inch scalloped punch and the smallest stamp in the set, with the ¾inch circle punch. The card front has been de-bossed with the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder and mounted onto a card cut from Coastal Cabana.And then I went crazy with rhinestones, placing them on the fancy ends of the larger medallions, the large ones in the centres of the small medallions. and a row to emphasise the greeting.

It's funny when I do these Tic-Tac-Toe challenges - I always get confused! I ended up not being sure if I was working on the centre line down Blue-Bling-Friendship or the diagonal one Birthday- Bling- Embossing and I've used the rather neutral greeting 'to my friend' but the good thing with that is I have two greetings for inside which could suit and are in the same font: 'happy day to you' or 'Thanks so much'!

The latter doesn't belong in Friendly Phrases, but since all are retired now, I have grouped them. I'm not ready just yet to let this old favourite go!

Everything Eleanor Meets Dynamic Duos #55

Isn't this a dramatic colour scheme?

Perhaps DYNAMIC?

I wasn't too sure about this colour scheme, but I actually like the richness. Thanks to Dynamic Duos for this challenge.




I've stamped the label from Everything Eleanor in Wisteria Wonder and one of each of the floral images from the same set with the Raspberry Ripple.

The greeting is from the retiring set Friendly Phrases, only available until the end of this month (if the stock lasts that long) and It has been debossed with the Lacy Brocade folder. It is mounted on a piece of  Wisteria Wonder card just slightly larger, and a strip of (retiring) ruffled ribbon in the same shade is tied to the left of the images.

Dynamic Duos#46 and Paper Players#139

Primrose Petals and Certainly Celery were my choice for these two challenges and I used the last line of the Paper Players Tic-Tac-Toe, which was pearls, birthday and pink & green.  I had some scraps of the polished stone technique I've been playing about with, so I punched some squares and mounted them on squares in Primrose Petals punched with the postage stamp punch. I stamped with Versamark, using the cute patterned arrow-shape from Oh Hello and a greeting from Friendly Phrases.There was just enough left over of my pink and green patterned paper to punch the tiny butterfly and the large butterfly is from vellum and trimmed with 5 tiny pearls each.

PPA 147

I had a spare hour this afternoon, and felt inspired to put together a little card when I spied this great sketch from Margaret Moody over on Pals Paper Arts page. You can click on the link to check out all the other submissions for yourself.

It didn't take me too long to put this card together as I already had some bits and pieces that I had been watercolouring last night. This little bag stamp is from a recently retired Stampin' Up set called Crazy for Cupcakes. I still love using the various stamps from this set, especially the three tiers of cupcakes on a plate.

The greeting is from a current stamp set, Friendly Phrases, page 144 of the annual catalogue. The greetings are in such a nice clear font, and all very 'useable'!

I added some strips of Floral district DSP and some seam binding and pearls and there it is, all done!
