CTC #532 CASE a Project Featuring Animals

CASE-ing The Catty Crew are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from Australia & New Zealand who take inspiration weekly from the catalogues. The catalogues are a fantastic resource, and we love to inspire you to seek inspiration there too.

My inspiration for the CASE came from the card on the left in the picture above. I do have Silly Safari in my stamp room but when I CASE I prefer to try a different idea. Instead of cutting three apertures, I stamped the pears in similar positions. I incorporated Timid Tiger with the lines top and bottom using Stripes & Dots. Stripes & Dots is going to get lots of use on my cards and scrapbook pages.

Perfectly Pear is the main stamp/die bundle I used, and it has two sizes of pears, these are the small ones. There's a fill-in stamp to colour the pears and a little Timid Tiger was added with a sponge dauber. It's nice to have a set that isn't floral but is still pretty.

The leaves and branches are quite small and Stampin' Write markers were perfect for adding some colour to these. Don't forget that there is a Stampin' Up! promotion running through August for you to add this years InColor products to your stash at 15% off.

Now it's your turn. We do request that the projects you submit have been created especially for this challenge. You can CASE directly or be inspired by a sketch/layout, colour combo or embellishment. Ask to join our Facebook group, and then add a picture of your CASE.

Next up is Peta and Marvi, I wonder what they will share?

Have a great crafty week!

CTC #369 -CASE the Mix & Match Section

CASE-ing The Catty Crew are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from Australia & New Zealand who take inspiration weekly from the catalogues. The catalogues are a fantastic resource, and we love to inspire you to seek inspiration there too. You may have just landed here, or perhaps you arrived from Julia's blog.

One of the things I noticed about the mix and match section was that many of the cards share a similar design. While they have used different card bases, sentiments and ephemera, many of them gather a group of those items around a central point. The bottom two lines in the picture above mainly have the focal point centred, others used the same idea but positioned the group to one side.

I haven't CASE-d any particular card, but just tried out my version of the grouped items. I included two of my favourite new stamp & die bundles with some fresh new In Colors. Country Flowers on the left has been getting lots of use in my craft room. The cottage-y quaint images are very usable and the fonts on the sentiments only add to the sweetness.

The other bundle is Attention Shoppers with a shopping trolley, gift bag, pot plant, flowers, cake & wine. From a stamp set I was definitely NOT buying; it transformed into a big favourite after seeing a demo by Mikaela Titheridge. Do you ever find that?

These 4.5 inch square cards are finished inside too.

CTC #342 CASE Bright & Beautiful

CASE-ing The Catty Crew are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from Australia & New Zealand who take inspiration weekly from the catalogues. The catalogues are a fantastic resource, and we love to inspire you to seek inspiration there too.

My inspiration came from the middle card on the right in the picture above. There is a mix of DSP and a stamped panel on the front of the Catty sample which reminded me of a favourite layout of mine, a cropped front panel card. I'll share the measurements at the end of the post.

Balloons were included on my design also, just in place of the stars in the original, and the spot where the cut-out
balloons originally were has been taken by a circle label. I prefer not to use gems on cards where there are young children in the household, as I can just imagine them thinking they are lollies and trying to eat them.

Stampin' Blends are my favourite for colouring, and I don't suggest that I am an expert but like most activities, the more you do the better you get. Using the Color Lifter is something I'd suggest trying. For the little critter I've used light & dark Crumb Cake with Light Petal Pink, and a Color Lifter to blend.

This is a particularly good design to make when your DSP is in the 6" by 6" size, as you can display both sides of the paper if they are a 'happy' pairing. There were even strips left over from this piece of Bright & Beautiful DSP.

CROPPED FRONT PANEL CARD (A4 card)

Paper:
Base - Half a sheet of card , cut 14.5cm by width of card, score at 10.5cm. Slice off 2.5cm from the bottom of the card front.
DSP - trim to 14cm wide before cutting a piece 5cm (X 14cm) for inside card, another piece 2.5cm (X 14cm) for top of card. I was able to use the reverse of the paper for the middle front panel and it measures 5cm by 14cm.
Basic white for the largest Stitched Circle, and to stamp an image from Zany Zoo. I also placed a 5cm by 14cm piece of Basic white inside above the DSP for a message to be written on. Scraps of coloured card for die cut balloons.

CTC#384 CASE THE SALE-A-Bration Catalogue.

The CASE-ing The Catty Crew are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from Australia & New Zealand who take inspiration weekly from the catalogues. The catalogues are a fantastic resource and we love to inspire you to seek inspiration there too. Thank you for visiting the blog of Rachel Palmieri in Melbourne, Australia.

My CASE is of the fox card featured in this graphic. I thought it was perfect to share my new favourite small critter, This Birthday Piggy.

He's such a sweetie, sitting in his red trolley. The banners pinned on the side are in the new die set, available 1st-30th September only. Check them out in the online shop on Thursday. Other stamp sets already released have the dies available for the month too.

The cart is cut in one piece also, but there are separate dies for the wheels AND the handle. The die set really expands the possibilities with this particular stamp, with outlines for the three piggies, grass, a trolley, present, bandanna, little bird and so on.

We love having you join in our challenges. Ask to join our Facebook group, and then add a picture of your CASE, and let us know which card or project you've CASE-d. No blog required, no special qualifications.

Next crew member for you to hop along and visit is the lovely Michelle

This Birthday Piggy Bundle #162521 $85.50
Playful Piggy Dies #160254 $54

From 1 -30 September 2022, Stampin’ Up! are releasing six sets of dies to coordinate with six stamp sets in the 2022–2023 Annual Catalogue and the July–December 2022 Mini Catalogue. If you don't have the stamp set yet, there is a special code under the picture to buy the stamps & dies bundled at a 10% saving.

CTC#378 CASE Love, Thanks & Support

The CASE-ing The Catty Crew are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from Australia & New Zealand who take inspiration weekly from the catalogues. The catalogues are a fantastic resource and we love to inspire you to seek inspiration there too. Thank you for visiting the blog of Rachel Palmieri in Melbourne, Australia.

This week at CASE-ing The Catty we are CASE-ing the Love, Thanks & Support pages from the Annual catty. Amazing Year, see page 28, is the stamp I inked up to CASE page 76.

My main image is surprisingly similar to the one from Speedy Recovery, and I've placed it on a square, rather than a rectangle.

Initially, I thought the black on the CASE-d card was much more complicated than a simple triangle, but once I'd sussed that out, the SALE-A-Bration DSP pack Rings Of Love had the perfect piece of patterned paper.

I enjoyed colouring with Stampin' Blends, and the parcel had some overall colour added with a blending brush.

We love having you join in our challenges. Ask to join our Facebook group, and then add a picture of your CASE, and let us know which card or project you've CASE-d. No blog required, no special qualifications.

My talented friend in South Australia has something to share this week, head over to Michelle Strazds now
