Way To Go!

I was sad to see Boutique Borders retire - I really like the 3 stamps in this set. Anyway, for a bit of fun, I've mixed a retiring stamp, a carryover stamp and a brand new stamp on this card.
Flower Patch is the stamp set that has carried over, and I'm loving it more this year than when it first came out. That might be because I've finally mastered stamping with photopolymer stamps, so it's much more enjoyable. It's a blessing to have the Flower Fair Framelits to cut out all the different pieces.
The new stamp is I Think You're Great, which I received at Convention this year. I've hung onto the retired Word Bubbles Framelits for cutting out different sentiments and they seem to fit this banner greeting too. I wonder if you can see that I used the 'kissing' technique on the 'way to go'? I think it echoes the pattern of the Boutique Borders with the scallops.

Looking through the Color Throwdown design team cards, I noticed that 3 of them really picked up on the pattern in the bedcover, funny!

Cheers,
Rachel

Stampin' Up! Word Bubbles Farewell Card

Just a quick post to share a quick and easy little card I made for a lady who was moving away for work. It shows what you can do with those snappy little Word Bubbles even if you don't have the matching stamp set, Just Sayin'. Missing you already... does actually come from Just Sayin' but many other sentiments fit into that shape.

So, the screen shot below brings you up to date with the other Weekly Deals from Stampin' Up!® for the 5th week of October 2014. Order up until 11.50pm 4th November. If you're in Australia, anywhere at all, you can pick them up from my online shop 24/7.
And don't forget! Weekly Deals are available every Wednesday morning at 9 a.m.

On another note, November is my birthday and I'd love to send you a gift. So....any orders over $50 (before shipping costs) during November will qualify for a gift from me. I can't tell you what it is yet, and it will ship separately to your main order. You need to use this code   MYJAE96T  in the box "Hostess Code" BEFORE you enter your payment details.

Have a good weekend

You're How Old? PP209

Clean and Simple Child's Birthday. Yikes! That is some challenge from LeAnne at The Paper Players!

LeAnne was thinking four year old grand daughter, while my mind turns to little male scallywags, aged three through to seven. My husband has named this crew of small boys 'Poppy's scallywags'.

I made this patterned panel up about a week ago when I made "What's Your Number?" for two other challenges. At the time I'd thought that "You're How Old?" would be equally appropriate, so that is what I've selected for this card. Then when the birthday rolls around I can add the age inside, along with a Happy Birthday sentiment. There is a link at the end of the post to show you the products used on the card and 25 Days is available after 28th August.

Have a happy crafting day!

Let's Go Camping! STS26

This is such a CAS card for me! That is just an acronym for clean and simple, and like many crafters, I keep on adding until my card front is 'balanced'. I have purposely held back here as the sketch challenge at Seize The Sketch seems to call for a minimalist approach.

My eldest son and his family are right into camping, cycling and surfing. They live about an hour and a half from Melbourne on the surf coast and my grandson attends a little country school. They love the life down there, and so I had my eye on The Great Outdoors stamp set for a while. When it was listed in the Weekly Deals last week at a $13 discount I had to have it and it was delivered yesterday while I was at work. It is important to check the Weekly Deals every Wednesday morning, because it is current stock offered at special prices there, for one week only. The Clearance Rack isn't updated as often, but it is well worth checking regularly too.

It was so easy to stamp just a tent on the white background, and a second one on scrap, along with the sentiment from Playful Pennants. I used a speech bubble from Word Bubble Framelits to cut the sentiment.
I think it is called paper tole when you layer images. I used to make pictures for my children when they were young, with paper tole, and it was fun to add dimension to this tent the same way.
Then I couldn't bear to leave the card completely white, so I have sponged a little blue sky and fluffy white clouds. You can add your card to the Gallery at Seize the Sketch too, I'd love to see you there!

Happy camping and stamping,
Rachel

Hooray - and Happy Birthday!

I have had a happy Sunday with 3 grandsons visiting for lunch, along with 2 daughter-in-laws, 4 sons and hubby and me - just a small family gathering!!! Oliver slept most of the time, but he is still very young.
After everyone went home, I had a burst of enthusiasm, and decided to put together a card for Freshly Made Sketches.

I wanted to try for a masculine card, and decided it would be fun to cut a banner into three pieces. I had a play with the greeting, using part of one from Geometrical and another underneath it from Age Awareness before cutting with a Word Bubble Framelit. It reads ...'HOORAY  oh,and happy birthday too!'

Then I decided to make another, following the same design and different papers. The Happy Birthday greeting is from Itty Bitty Banners stamp set, cut with a matching framelit.

Thanks for reading my blog,

Rachel
