Woo Hoo! It's Your Birthday FMS #158

Today I have used the sketch by Jennifer Timko, for Freshly Made Sketches. It's lovely, clean, uncomplicated which means it can be interpreted in so many different ways. Even I have numerous different designs in my head for this one!

Big News is a great stamp set and you can colour those spindly letters so many ways. Today I went with the rock 'n' roll technique, but it looks to me that I might have to practice it a bit more. So, not quite a perfect result, but still useable, and I don't mind the effect.

Boutique Borders, another of my fave's from the latest Annual Stampin' Up!® catalogue, adds a touch of interest beside the strip of patterned paper. The numbers on the base card come from 25 Days, from the mini Holiday catalogue.

Frequently, I don't finish the insides of these cards until I need to use one, or I am getting a batch ready for sale. I've had to spend so long this week, finishing off cards, that I will make a bigger effort to do it all at the one time (for a little while at least!).

So, you can see a glimpse of the inside above, but I did take a photo to share with you.
I have to head out now to do some shopping for two small boys who celebrate birthdays before Christmas.
Cheers

Rachel

You're How Old? PP209

Clean and Simple Child's Birthday. Yikes! That is some challenge from LeAnne at The Paper Players!

LeAnne was thinking four year old grand daughter, while my mind turns to little male scallywags, aged three through to seven. My husband has named this crew of small boys 'Poppy's scallywags'.

I made this patterned panel up about a week ago when I made "What's Your Number?" for two other challenges. At the time I'd thought that "You're How Old?" would be equally appropriate, so that is what I've selected for this card. Then when the birthday rolls around I can add the age inside, along with a Happy Birthday sentiment. There is a link at the end of the post to show you the products used on the card and 25 Days is available after 28th August.

Have a happy crafting day!
Rachel

What's Your Number?

I bought 25 Days, a photopolymer stamp from the upcoming (28th August) Holiday Catalogue, because
although it is intended for Christmas, I can see a huge potential for number birthday cards. Since I have six grandchildren aged under 7, this is something I will get a lot of use from. Only the numeral 11 is on a Christmas bauble, and that won't be a problem because there is a sum for 22 (11 + 11 = 22). Isn't that cute?

My card is for Rita's sketch at  Freshly Made Sketches and uses the colours at Color Throwdown, and the letters and numbers on the sample triggered my thoughts toward this somewhat generic birthday card. The colours look great together, don't they? I substituted Lucky Limeade for Kiwi Kiss.

I used Tag Talk for the first time today too. It was rather frustrating as I could not find the Label Bracket Punch anywhere. I called my husband to help look for it, sometimes a man-look is more effective than a confused-crafter-look!!!
He couldn't find it either! (Yes, I do have rather a lot of punches!!!) He suggested that I hadn't ordered it yet, and then I began to doubt myself, so I had to check over the invoices until I found it.
Not long after that, I had another look through the three baskets of punches, and there it was!!!The tag was stamped once in Lucky Limeade and once in Bermuda Bay and then I hand cut the Birthday segment and popped it with a couple of Dimensionals. Now that its been christened, I'm sure it will get quite a workout.

Hope you're planning some crafty fun, thanks for reading my blog,

Rachel
