Happy First Birthday

When requested, I am more than happy to accept commissions for special cards. This was for a young lady, just turning one.

Her invitation featured a butterfly, and her cake was to be shaped like a butterfly too I believe, so it seemed a good idea to use Butterfly paper.

I sewed a square of Vellum card over the top, which softens the look considerably. 'Happy Birthday' die will be dropped from our catalogue on May 31st, so you'll have to order pronto if you need it. You can click on the image at the foot of this post and it will take you right to that item in my store.

It looks like the Lined Alphabet Letters and Layering Alphabet Edgelits are with us for another year - lucky! I heat embossed the stamped images and coloured using Stampin' Blends. I hope you're inspired to create some handmade cards too. Add the host code when you shop with me and there'll be something extra in the mail from me.

Animal Outing CTC#183

No automatic alt text available.

Welcome back to another week of CASE-ing The Catty. The crew is made up of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from all parts of Australia and New Zealand. You are at the blog of Rachel Palmieri, Independent Stampin' Up!® demonstrator. I run classes at my home studio in South Morang, Victoria, share Stampin' Up!® products and tools at parties for my customers, coach my lovely team and create cards and the occasional 3D project.

I've had special commissions for birthday cards this week, and one is for a little girl turning one. Because the party invitation had beautiful flowers and a bunny, it seemed fitting that her card could reflect that theme. I used the kitty sketch above, to spark my inspiration but it soon grew from a standard card, to something a bit more extravagent.

A sister demonstrator, also on the CASE-ing The Catty design team, was kind enough to stamp me several different images of the recently retired bunny. Thank you Kathryn for helping me out.

I've used this bold birthday greeting from Perennial Birthdays on all four special orders, beginning with the 21st card for a male. Then as the Stamparatus, I've continued on and made the little girls' cards, and one for my son whose birthday is in July. I love the Stamparatus!!! Initially I was going to trim the panel down once it was stamped, but added the child's name with Lined Alphabet stamps and heat embossed with Copper embossing powder.

I'd watercoloured during the afternoon with a friend, and so decided to colour the name with very carefree watercolouring and splashes of Wink Of Stella Gold. Now I need to keep working on preparations for my Catalogue Launch on June 30th. Are you coming?

Please consider sharing your creation of a favourite retiring project at our Facebook page. We love to see what you've made too. Remember, pages 26-37. Now head over to Kelly Kent in W.A  to see which delightful project she is sharing.

Onstage April Part 3

You may know that I have  number of grandchildren, and this time it was Tyler and Logan who were the stars of my scrapbook page. My son and D-I-L supplied this gorgeous photo. The new stamp set Sitting Pretty supplied the sentiments for this layout. "Best Friends" and Anywhere with you is better than anywhere without you,' suits these boys to a tee. I guess it usually suits a lot of siblings - fighting like crazy one minute and playing happily the next. My box only had the Lined Alphabet stamps, no framelits, but after trying them hand cut, I redid my layout with them stamped to the background. Blends were used to colour these letters.

I pulled some splodges from Love What You Do stamp set, it is just a sensational set! Having the big stack of paper from the Share What You Love suite, I knew that Blackberry Bliss and Mint Macaron were returning colours so I used them, along with a spot or two of Calypso Coral. I was absolutely thrilled with the products I had to work with for my Onstage display. I felt like they had been chosen with me in mind, but that may just be because these will be our most popular stamps this catalogue. What do you think?

For cards with Sitting Pretty I was able to mix in some sentiments from Love What You Do as the fonts are similar. The stamp only has the wrought iron seat, and I could picture it at the end of a day, with the glow of a sunset shining through. So pleased that the dies include this one and a bench-style seat, as well as the bulldog, squirrel and plant. It does make life so much easier, for those of us with arthritic hands. Can still wind the handle on the Big Shot, just the scissor action isn't so steady!!!

And one without the sunset. Doesn't Blackberry Bliss look so good with Tranquil Tide? Such a strong colour combination.Seems quite suitable for a bloke with the linen thread and all.

For the new InColors, all I received was 3 colours of ribbon, a pack of clips and those same 3 shades in heat embossing powder. I matched a piece of Old Olive ribbon with the Pineapple Punch ribbon & tied them with linen thread to introduce the colour to my project.

All the patterned paper I used for my display is from Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper. There is a great range of colours included, a little something for everyone. I can hardly wait to share this suite with my customers during May, they're going to love it!

The stamping of the 2nd step, colour onto the little critters could have been better, but I have my Stamparatus now, so I expect next time I ink it up, will be much bettter. I'm thrilled to bits with the co-ordinating dies, which I tried out the day they arrived. The Big Shot is my best friend, as you might be able to tell with all the die cutting on this particular card. Missing you was from a part of a bigger stamp and I coloured only the words I wanted by covering the remainder with washi tape. This is removed before stamping.

There is still more to come but for now I will leave you,

A Couple More From April OnStage

These were the last two cards I made, but not the last that I'll be sharing. I received the Lined Alphabet stamp set in my box of goodies, but not the matching framelits. Of course I didn't even know about them!!! When you see the new Annual Catalogue, you'll understand why I wish I had received them, as they do more than cut out letters. I was still loking for ways to include them in my display, after using them on my scrapbook page, and a clip board.

By this stage, we knew that the set of three framelits released during SALE-A-Bration were staying, and the Wood Textures paper stack, so I added a piece of Share What You Love specialty designer series paper, some copper net ribbon (that's back too) and die cut some Blackberry bliss hearts and 'you'. Love had been heat embossed with copper embossing powder, and then I washed Blackberry Bliss ink over it. The base card is Berry Burst for a bit of warmth.

Since the sewing machine was out I used it for this card too. The same pack of Share What You Love SDSP, and another returning colour, Mint Macaron. I'm ecstatic that it has returned, and had a nice little stockpile of card and ink to use. It's a great match for Tranquil Tide, and actually Blackberry Bliss looks great with Berry Burst and Fresh Fig. The sentiments in the new Love What You Do stamp set are really lovely, in fact the whole Share What You Love Suite is perfect, and you'll be able to order bundles during May, a month ahead of the catalogue launch.

I'll have some more samples to share in a few days.

Onstage April 2018 Blog Hop

The box of goodies was amazing and I was anxious to do the best job possible for Stampin' Up!® and my fellow demonstrators attending Sydney Onstage. The 'Share What You Love Suite' made up the majority of my goodies, and this delightful designer series paper was the starting point for me. Reading the listed colours I quickly realised that Mossy Meadow, Mint Macaron and Blackberry Bliss were returning, and it took a lot of self-control not to share that information. Luckily I hang on to my retired In Colors after a colour revamp happened 5-6 years ago, and Stampin' Up! warned us that we might like to do that as you'd never know when they might return.

This punch was also in the box, so I punched squares of DSP and thought about how I could incorporate them. The floral stamp in Love What You Do is simple yet stylish, and the sentiments in the set are very sweet, especially if you ever send Random Act of Kindness cards.

Square format cards really appeal to me, despite needing to make the envelope for them. Thank goodness for the Envelope Punch Board. These are quite a simple design, utilising many images from Love What You Do.

Again, those punched shapes have been utilised on another card with the Love What You Do stamp, and as Tranquil Tide is another colour in the Share What You Love specialty designer series paper, a piece with textured embossing was included. Leaves die cut with the Petals & More Thinlits Dies were layered under the hand cut flowers. I'm so pleased that Petal Palette is also carrying over into the new catalogue, along with the dies. You can buy them bundled together at 10% discount, until May 31st using code #145973 for a wood mount stamp & dies, or #145974 for the clear mount stamp & dies.

Because I had a pack of In Color clips, I used a Lovely Lipstick one here, and it seems to tie in with Berry Bliss etc just fine.

My display board moment!

As well as the punch, there was a Thank You thinlit. A great addition to the catalogue, and my stash!
A couple of images were cut and layered with a shadow effect on the second card, just a single on the first..

This paper is my absolute favourite from the whole pack, and there is only the tiniest bit left now. I thought the Berry Bliss ribbon added a luscious touch here. The Glitter Enamel Dots are not carrying over in those colours, so if you love them as much as I do, you'll be adding them to an order soon.

Stitched squares helped to ground my punched shapes on the green card.

Isn't that a beautiful sentiment? I featured that centre-stage here, with Grapefruit Grove embossing powder around the edge of the label, and some of the new In Color ribbon. Calypso Coral with Basic Black made up the rest of this card adding a richer dimension.

Now, 3D items are not my strong point, so I popped off to the local dollar shop and purchased a clip board. My plan was to heat emboss the big clip and colour it Grapefruit Grove but that didn't work out so well. Next, hubby got into the act and totally removed the BIG clip, which made it so much easier to cover with DSP. I brayered the first lot of paper with white Craft ink, and fussy cut a piece of floral pearlised paper to lay on top.You may be able to see that I heat embossed around the art piece on the clip board too. Love those tiny leaves, so delicate.

The small clips which you'll be able to buy once the catalogue goes live (or during May possibly for demonstrators) fit at a pinch. The letters are another stamp set, Lined Alphabet, and will have dies available too. I didn't receive those so hand cut mine after colouring with Stampin' Blends in shades of coral and orange.

One last way to show off the Share What You Love SDSP with a pizza box and 3 inch square notecards. Stampin' Up! make cute little envelopes, and I just had to cut card and fold to fit. These are a sweet size to add with a gift of flowers or chocolates, the size won't overwhelm. I used some copper foil paper and embossing powder for this set.

Share What You Love is an early release suite and is available now for demonstrators, with some free items included in the bundles. Customers, you'll be able to order through your demonstrator from May 1st, even though the rest of the catalogue doesn't go 'live' until June 1st. If you can't wait that long, you could join up as a demonstrator. The largest bundle will see you well on your way, but you'll still have $12.25 left to spend, and you will have only paid $169.00 for all this papery goodness. If you live in Australia, you can chat to me about joining my team, the FUNdamentals, and I will support you as you learn the craft.

Next along on this hop is the talented Rachael Lewsley in West Australia.
