Come To Gather Birthday Cards

Following on from my last post for CASE-ing The Catty, I decided to share some more cards using the Come To Gather DSP, just because it is so versatile, and not just for Autumn. I found a card I'd made a while back using a range of pretty floral papers and decided to CASE my own card.

The design is a lovely way to really show off the lovely colours and papers, and stamping can be minimal. With careful preparation, this card is quite good for a 'Make & Take.'  Not sure what I mean by 'Make & Take'? It's the card you and your guests make when you host a Stampin' Up! demonstration. Have you ever thought about having a crafting afternoon with friends. If you're in the northern suburbs of Melbourne - say 25km around Sth Morang, we could see if we could arrange a mutually suitable time for your party.

A very simple stamp and punch set which comes in a cute metal tin was the greeting I chose for these cards, and the 2-colour effect is easy. Stamp once in the base colour, clean off the stamp and re-ink with the 2nd colour before stamping out again and trimming with scissors.

Inside the metal box are 6 stamps, a punch, one Night Of Navy plus one Grapefruit Grove inkspot and a block to use with the stamps. Add a pack of notecards & envelopes and you're all set to produce fabulous cards!

Each one of these cards had a slightly different trim, and in the end my favourite was the wood grain card. I just love the Leaf Punch and Sprig Punch. Such an effective look. These are a nice style of card for any occasion, with the patterned paper doing all the heavy lifting. Can you imagine a Christmas card like this?

I like to reward you for shopping with me and using the Host code. That helps gather all the smaller orders together into a 'party' and I share the Host benefits with my customers, proportional to the amount spent. There is a spot at the online shop order form where you are asked if you have a Host Code.

If you'd like to have a catalogue party to group all your friend's purchases, get in touch beforehand and I will set you up with your personal host code and explain how it works. If you feel inclined to treat yourself to $250 worth of Stampin' Up! - just go ahead and place your order online and when you reach $250, you will be earning 10% in Host benefits which you spend before you close the order. Again, ask me if you're not sure.

Apple Notebook CTC#253

Welcome back to another week of CASE-ing The Catty. The crew is made up of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from all parts of Australia and New Zealand. You are at the blog of Rachel Palmieri, Independent Stampin' Up!® demonstrator. I run classes at my home studio in South Morang, Victoria, share Stampin' Up!® products and tools at parties for my customers, create Craft By Post classes, coach my lovely team and create cards and the occasional 3D project.

This week we are CASE-ing the Come To Gather pages 46-51. I am using Harvest Hellos and the matching Apple Builder Punch to make some small items for my upcoming market stalls.

Come To Gather DSP , although designed with the Northern Hemisphere Autumn in mind, also suits our "end of year" projects with the checks reminding us of school uniforms, perhaps?

I don't know if you noticed the title of my blog this week but I had a little chuckle to myself when I typed in 'Apple Notebook'! Not those expensive electronic gadgets, just a simple paper product. Tee hee! These notebooks are showing 4 sides of the paper in the pack, but of course there are a total of 12 different patterns (6 double-sided papers times 2) in each 12" by 12" pack. I'm hoping these prove to be a popular low-cost gift to purchase, or maybe I can inspire someone to make gifts themselves.

On page 49 of the Holiday catalogue where Harvest Hellos is shown, there is a pizza box shown with slices of apple all joined up, which inspired me to put 3 full apples under the needle, and sew them for the front of these notebooks.

I've been making matching post-it Note holders too, in two different styles. This one is slightly trickier with a mini pen tucked in the top, the other is a straight-forward cover. At the end of the month I am taking a stall at a couple of local markets, one is in Doreen, the other 6 days later in Mill Park. These are both relatively close to my home in South Morang.

There is always so much inspiration in these catalogues, I'm sure that is why CASE-ing the Catty is so successful! Now it's your turn to show what you can do with a little catalogue inspiration. Add your work at our Facebook challenge here.

Memories Of Christmas Gleaming CTC#247

This week we are asking you to CASE a Holiday Catalogue Punch project. I did use the pair of bauble punches, but kept it simple.

I really like that Stampin' Up! has included 2 stamp sets which can be used with these punches, in this Holiday catalogue, but at this stage I only have the Christmas Gleaming stamp, which you can purchase as a bundle with the 2 punches at a 10% saving. The alternative co-ordinating stamp set, Memories Of Home, can be found on page 33 of the Holiday Catalogue.

The artists did a great job using the christmas tree to stamp all over the background of the card. I did a small amount of stamping on the corners of the card front and the inside of the card and mainly relied on a piece of neutral DSP from Come To Gather DSP. Although this paper is for Thanksgiving and Autumn, it has good colours and reverse sides for other events. With the buy three packs, get the 4th free offer for September, it's a good time to buy some new DSP, just to ring the changes.
Soft pastels seem to suit this gentle background, and Stampin' Blends give a great result, once you've practised with them. Remember to imagine light is falling, I always seem to choose top left. You may be able to see that I've used a lighter hand with colour there and into the centre. I also applied Wink Of Stella, but it has proven difficult to capture in photographs.
