Country-Style Apples

No doubt you've been seeing lots of Fitted Florets stamps, dies and papers shared since they became available on November 1st. It is a lovely suite, and the good news is that the stamps and dies will be around until June 2023 but the papers and the Christmas stamp - Framed & Festive are only while stock lasts or January 3rd, 2023.

Wanting to try a different idea, I pulled Cheerful Basket from my shelf and had a play with a more rustic, country look using a checked paper from the Fitted Florets DSP.

Another paper from Texture Chic SDSP provided a weatherboard look in the matching Evening Evergreen. I really like the look of the diecut apples and leaves on the label which serves a dual purpose, also holding the Easel card up.

I'm looking forward to a fun weekend. I flew to Sydney today to attend a Stampin' Up! managers reception tonight before an all-day conference tomorrow. I love getting together with my stamping pals, and actually will stay a few days longer to have a little break.

WCMD Kathryn's Blog Hop

To celebrate World Card Making Day, I am participating in Kathryn's Blog Hop of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all round the world to share a card that I have made recently. We have been challenged to post it within a week to someone special, and I have chosen one of my favourite sons (they're ALL my favourites - LOL). This is the blog of Rachel Palmieri, and I live in Victoria, Australia.

The end of September, beginning of October was always a crazy busy time when my boys were young. Not only school holidays but one son with a birthday on September 28, my darling mum 3 days later on October 1st, then another son on October 6th! So much cake over those few days.

Texture Chic Memories and More cards & envelopes are handy when you are in a rush. The envelope is already decorated, the front of the card has some colour, so all I did was cut a couple of pieces of the gorgeous Texture Chic specialty designer series paper in different sizes, layer them and glue straight to the card.

The fishing rod is from Rugged Icons dies and it could be quite fiddly to add, unless you do as I did and use adhesive sheet on the back of the black card. That meant I was able to add the little pieces back into the handle fairly easily too.

I hope you enjoyed WCMD, and had lots of crafty fun today. Next demo on the hop is the terrific and talented Tina, in South Australia.

CTC#387 CASE A Punch Project

The CASE-ing The Catty Crew are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from Australia & New Zealand who take inspiration weekly from the catalogues. The catalogues are a fantastic resource, and we love to inspire you to seek inspiration there too. Thank you for visiting the blog of Rachel Palmieri in Melbourne, Australia.

This week has been a busy one, and to save time I've used the Texture Chic Memories & More premade cards and envelopes. I CASE-d the punch Project below left but used dies to cut all my pieces. The sentiment has the same stacked format as the card I CASE-d.

The lower right placement of the rectangle was something I also took from the catalogue, and the flowers and leaves from the Season of Chic bundle were a perfect match with the rest of the suite.

The stacked sentiment from Framed Occasions was heat embossed in gold, at the same time as it's stamped frame. That shape is easy to hand cut, although it does co-ordinate with Beautiful Shapes Dies.

The Texture Chic Memories & More envelopes already have gold embossing on them. Now that's a timesaver!

We love having you join in our challenges. Ask to join our Facebook group, and then add a picture of your CASE letting us know which card or project you've CASE-d. No blog required, no special qualifications.

Another Round...?

It didn't occur to me on Tuesday when I shared on Facebook Live this masculine card, that it was featuring Evening Evergreen, the Colour Creations Blog Hop colour for this week.

It seems very fitting to add some more photos of this card, including the one made at the same time with Soft Succulent, a very pleasant pairing. The beer was stamped in Crushed Curry, which brightens the cards up considerably.

When both sides of the DSP are suitable for the card front I have in mind, this particular cut, and layout is one of my 'go to' cards.
Last time I used it was for another masculine card.

Texture Chic specialty Designer series paper provided perfect backgrounds for these masculine cards, but also contains paper in delightful feminine tones. Luxurious too, with the gold patterns.

Snowfall Accents Puff Paint is not only great for adding snowy accents to your stamped winter scenes, but also for the froth on top of a (badly poured) beer.
