Catching Butterflies

Catching Butterflies is a cute little stamp set, and I wanted to explore ways to colour it on today's Facebook live. I try to share some crafting every Tuesday at 11.30 am AEST.

For card one I used Stampin' Blends (alcohol-based pens) and blending brushes to apply colour.

This created a vibrant, rainbow image which was trimmed to fit inside the largest of the Scalloped Contours dies. The sentiment was die cut with a small Layering Circle die after heat embossing in white on black.

Card two was coloured with Watercolor Pencils, blended with a Blender Pen. For the coloured border, a stamp block was placed on the ink pad and applied to the paper.

Colour Creations Blog Hop

Happy New Year! I trust you've enjoyed some holiday time and feel like getting back to creating. The participants in Colour Creations are all Stampin' Up! demonstrators and members of Art With Heart. This is week 30 of Colour Creations Blog Hop, and as we use the colours alphabetically, we are up to Mossy Meadow.

Color & Contour stamp set, Scalloped Contour dies and Mossy Meadow ink and card were my choices this week. It seemed like a fun idea to use both flower images, and the large scalloped edging from the set of dies.

The chalk marker pen has added highlights to the daisy-like image.

Colour Creations - Crumb Cake

Our feature colour this week is Crumb Cake, in the neutrals and a very useful shade. I'm sure there will be lots of inspiration shared on this blog hop, so make sure you spend the time checking them out. We are all Stampin' Up! demonstrators and members of Art With Heart.

For quite some time I had been intending to try this technique where die cuts are adhered to a same-colour piece of card to make a textured background. Dandy Wishes dies have these spiky flower heads in three sizes, so that provides additional interest.

The light woodgrain paper from In Good Taste continues the neutral theme. This die from Scalloped Contours dies is one of my favourites because you can tuck things into the slits.

The sentiment from Biggest Wish was stamped in Bumblebee and Mossy Meadow, just a touch of colour on the card this week. The simple dandelion from Garden Wishes has been coloured with Stampin' Blends.
