Colour Creations - Week 9 - Blackberry Bliss

The participants in Colour Creations are all Stampin' Up! demonstrators and members of Art With Heart. We love to Blog Hop sharing all the Stampin' Up! Colours. This is week nine of this round of Colour Creations Blog Hop, and this week is Blackberry Bliss.

This was a really fun project to use old and new together. The old was Painted Poppies stamped in Old Olive. Still love those pretty poppies though.

The new is Split Card Texture dies, and it's the lattice-like one here, cut from our NEW masking paper. Oh wow! Having a large sheet of masking paper means I don't get random smudges just off the edge where my post-it note runs out!

We made this card in class this month and the ladies LOVED it!

Lovely Kate Morgan follows me this week, let's go see her Blackberry Bliss creation.

If at any time you find a broken link, please head to the blog of this week’s host of the AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop, Cathy Proctor, and she will have the list of all participants.

Colour Creations Week 4 Sweet Sorbet

The participants in Colour Creations are all Stampin' Up! demonstrators and members of Art With Heart. We love to Blog Hop sharing all the Stampin' Up! Colours. This is week four of this round of Colour Creations Blog Hop, and the In Color featured this week is Sweet Sorbet.

As I was ironing the other day, I was inspired to try to recreate my t-shirt as a One-Sheet-Wonder. It had occurred to me that Painted Poppies stamp set was quite close the the featured flower, and Hello Beautiful stamp set has squiggles and blobs which would be useful.

I didn't cover the whole sheet of card, thinking some white spaces might be useful, but I'm not sure if they really were. I was able to make six cards from that stamped sheet though, and that made me happy.

This card with three segments is a fun one to make with designer series paper that co-ordinates or like this with contrasting colours and texture. Sweet Sorbet was embossed with Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder and Old Olive with the multi-lingual 'Thanks' embossing folder. It comes paired with another with 'Hello' in many languages.

You take 3 card-front-sized pieces of card, and slice all three at the same time so that the pieces are inter-changeable. No special measurements are needed, so long as you have 3 that match each other.

For the other 3 cards, there is a regular card front, mounted on a black matt, another with the card front sliced into 4 pieces and lastly, a slimline card with Postage Card Punch pieces lined up along the centre.

Poppies for ANZAC Day

It seemed fitting to share a card with poppies today, since we are remembering those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom. There is only one red poppy in this display, since invariably the poppies I plant are lemon, yellow and orange!

Two stamp sets were used to create this card, Enjoy The Moment and Painted Poppies. The first has featured recently in the Mini January to June catalogue, and you'll find both in the NEW Annual catalogue.

The spent seed pods are anchoring the flowers and sentiment , along with black bakers twine which you'll also find in a multi pack in the Annual catalogue.

If you need a catalogue and don't already have a demonstrator, I'd be happy to help out. You can also view catalogues online or browse my online shop. The NEW Annual catalogue goes live on May 4th.

CTC#300 CASE The Mini Catalogue

On page 7, right at the beginning of the mini catalogue is a project kit, pictured below. This is not an all-inclusive kit - you can use a stamp set you already have, choose one from any catalogue, or add 'You Are Amazing' to your order. I have bought both, as I think the stamp is rather fun with the variety of fonts used.

I decided to show some alternative cards you could make, if you only buy the stamp, substituting Whale Of A Time DSP, and inspired by the cards in the project kit. This stamp set can certainly adapt to any fun paper.

Beginning with the Bumblebee 'Thanks' card, I've cased the circles from the original, but split them instead and changed the arrangement a little. 'Stitched Rectangles' are the perfect fit for this stamp.

When it came time to style this card, it was based on the 'amazing' card at the top, but I ended up not wanting to layer the labels like that, which would hide those fish. I've used two nesting labels from 'Painted Labels'. It is in the Annual catalogue on page 177, bundled with 'Painted Poppies' stamps saving you 10%.

This card was CASE-d from the bottom left card, but went off in it's own direction, as they often do. I decided against the vellum label and used a strip of DSP, with a fussy-cut turtle as an accent. These 2 cards are ideal for my grandsons to use for the many parties they attend.

This was CASE-d from the 'amazing' card with the layered labels, again from Painted Labels, with a length of ribbon instead of the paper banner. I stamped large strawberry flowers onto DSP and punched them with the Small Blooms Punch. It's wonderful how Stampin' Up! provide several stamps to co-ordinate with punches and this one still has Basket of Blooms on page 48, and a retired, lovely stamp set from last SALE-A-Bration.

It seemed a good idea to finish off the inside with a few more stamps from Sweet Strawberry. I hope I have been able to show you how You Are Amazing is a very useful, fun stamp for birthday cards, and adapts very well to other stamps and papers you may already have.

I'm always excited to see what Tina Gillespie has CASE-d from the mini catalogue. Let's hop on over and see.
