Colour Creations Showcase - Terracotta Tile

Terracotta Tile has been brought forward for this week at Colour Creations Showcase as it retires soon, and would have featured after it's retirement if left in alphabetical order. This colour is a softer version of Cajun Craze, and Terracotta Tile would be my preference of the two. I particularly like the way it goes with Flirty Flamingo.

Ornate Garden Suite was pretty special when it was released about 12 months ago, and strangely, the Ornate Borders dies and the Ornate Style stamp from this suite are retiring in May, while Ornate Thanks carries over, along with Ornate Layers dies.

The designer series paper, Ornate Garden, is available still, with many pretty patterns included in the double-sided papers. The flowers are included with the Ornate Borders dies too, and they make a pretty arrangement on the front of this card.

Cathy Proctor at What Cathy Made hosts this Showcase, so hop back to find who is next on the list and check out another Terracotta Tile project.

Tea Together CTC#269 Week 1

This week, and next at CASE-ing The Catty we are CASE-ing our favourite retiring bundle. I adore Tea Together with its matching dies and have been using it lots lately. Last I checked it was still in the Last-Chance Products, and it has been drastically reduced in price.

These two cards were the starting point, mainly because the Purple Posy paper from Best Dressed DSP just said 'Teacups', to me. Some gold heat embossing times three, and I began to trim the patterned paper for the paper-piecing on the teapot and cup on the left.

It had to be gold embossing because my grandmother's teacups which are in my custody now, all have gold rims which NEVER can go in the dish washer!!!!Unfortunately, it is often difficult to pick up those details in a photograph.

This other Purple posy card has a plain teapot & cup and a strip of the DSP is behind them.

Paper-piecing helped to dress this teapot too, using a paper from Ornate Garden SDSP. The small flowers have a passing resemblance to a flower stamp in the Tea Together stamp set.

Lastly, I've stamped the smaller flower randomly over the card front, after using a 'hello' stamp from the Darling Label Punch Box on the Stamparatus. Its so easy with the hinge on ther plates, you just move it down a notch each time you stamp and you get a lovely straight row of words. I also graduated the colour from light to dark. I do enjoy a nice hot pot of freshly brewed tea and never touch coffee.
