Quick, Easy Watercolour Background

This is an easy way to watercolor a background, without making too much mess. Take a piece of Shimmery White card (9cm x 12cm) and stamp the large flower from Nature's Harvest in versamark. Cover with white embossing powder, and heat until it melts.

Take a large acrylic block, and press one end into Coastal Cabana, and the other into Daffodil Delight. Spray block lightly with water, it is okay if the colours run into each other. Simply stamp the block to the card over the embossed flower.

Finish off the card with white ribbon, gems and a sentiment. This one is from Many Messages, heat embossed on black card.

Colour Creations Magenta Madness

Magenta Madness is our colour for week 24, a lovely vibrant hot pink.  The participants in Colour Creations are all Stampin' Up! demonstrators and members of Art With Heart.
By cutting card front sized pieces from designer series paper, you are left with strips 10cm wide, the perfect size for a card front. These have been spaced out over the front of this base, and glued in place.

To unify the look, and to tone the colour just a touch, a piece of vellum has been embossed and laid over.

The embossing folder has been used on the inside of the card too.

And now it's time to see my lovely friend, Michele Taylor's beautiful creation.

Butterfly Brilliance

It has been a couple of weeks since I shared the Stained Glass Technique with heat embossed butterflies on vellum.

Such an easy technique, just colouring with stampin' Write markers or Stampin' Blends on the reverse of the image, after it has been heat embossed onto vellum.

It doesn't matter what colour you do your heat embossing with, and it really only shows up once you have placed white card behind.

This card has the Stained Glass butterflies, placed over corresponding ones on this card.

All three butterfly cards, do you have a favourite?

Highland Heather For Colour Creations Blog Hop

Highland Heather is our colour for week 22, a lovely softer, subtle version of purple. It contrasts beautifully with Gorgeous Grape (darker) and Fresh Freesia (lighter and pinker). The participants in Colour Creations are all Stampin' Up! demonstrators and members of Art With Heart.

Hand-Penned Petals was one of my first picks when the catalogue was released, and it remains a favourite still. Building up the layers gives added interest to this card.

Although there is a lovely script to the sentiments included with Hand-Penned Petals, sometimes it's not the right one. That's when Many Messages comes in handy, and I usually stamp out multiples and keep them in a little tub, ready to use.

The Highland Heather ribbon is in the Annual catalogue, and with one selvedge cut off to fray the ribbon and expose the silver thread,  it shows the lovely glitter. I sewed it onto the card, since I had matching thread on my sewing machine at the time.

And now it's time to see my lovely friend, Kate Morgan's, beautiful creation.
