CTC#364 -Easter

The CASE-ing The Catty Crew are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from Australia & New Zealand who take inspiration weekly from the catalogues. The catalogues are a fantastic resource and we love to inspire you to seek inspiration there too.

Looking at the bottom card in the above picture, I noticed a flowing line with the grass and tulips. The branch loaded up with birdies follows a similar line. I adapted background stamping from another package in the same picture, and of course, used regular birds, not chicks.

Pale Papaya seems like a 'spring-like' (Easter) colour scheme, and the birds colouring has been kept very simple.

Not to forget the inside of the card, a little DSP and stamping gives a pretty finish.

You can purchase Free As A Bird for only $30.40 until the end of the month, or supplies run out (whichever happens sooner). Order here..
The Stitched So Sweetly dies are retiring too, but they have not been reduced. You can order these very useful scalloped and stitched rectangles and the 4 label dies for $56.

We love having you join in our challenges. Ask to join our Facebook group, and then add a picture of your CASE, and let us know which card or project you've CASE-d. No blog required, no special qualifications.

CTC #301 CASE The SALE-A-Bration Catalogue

The Design Crew at CASE-ing the Catty  like to share all the exciting design possibilities included in the pretty catalogue pictures, so you can create amazing cards of your own. CASE stands for 'copy and selectively edit' so you can be inspired by a colour combination, the way the elements are placed on a card, the number of embellishments etc. This week we are looking at the SAB catty, and I have stopped at page 4/5, Darling Donkeys.

Rather than just copy, I've taken elements of the card and adapted to create my own design. Hydrangea Hill paper was on my table because there were strips left over after cutting card fronts. They co-ordinate so prettily, so I thought I would use them together like in the picture circled.

It's a simple layout, with the 3 strips of paper, and the donkey stamped onto the greeting banner, and note how his ear is escaping the confines of the label? That really appealed to me, but Free As A Bird suited this paper better.

On the other card, with 3 birds a different layout was created. The frames came about because as I rummaged through my Purple Posy card stock, I came across these two already made, and decided to include them. I love to use up all the bits and pieces, do you?

Purple Posy is one of the 5 colours retiring at the end of May, so if  it is a favourite, now could be a good time to restock. I always do a mini stock take during SAB to replenish dimensionals, multi-purpose glue and card, so I earn those SAB rewards too.

Don't forget, this week we are CASE-ing the SALE-A-Bration Catalogue, and you can too. Add your submission on our Facebook page

Next up is the talented Rebecca Scurr, do check out her project.

CTC#270 Week 1

This week, and next at CASE-ing The Catty we are CASE-ing our favourite retiring punches or dies. This Leaf Punch is such a favourite, it will be staying on my shelf.

Floral Essence is a stamp to be included in the catalogue again, and it has a punch for the flower which will carry over too. This makes it very easy to produce a pretty card. What I hadn't realised until a friend mentioned it, was the Leaf Punch, pictured above, also co-ordinates with the leaf from this stamp set. This alone, was enough to encourage me to order it last year. Unfortunately, the Leaf Punch will not be continuing on in the Stampin' Up! range.

Floral Essence has some sweet sentiments, although 'Happy Birthday' comes from Here's A Card. It seemed a good pairing with the other sentiment. Most of the leaves are stamped onto the background with an extra one punched and tucked behind.

Again, using Floral Essence and both leaves are punched, one stamped and one from card. Such a useful punch. The flower was stamped & heat embossed onto vellum, before punching out. Some of the lovely white Tulle ribbon adds another soft touch.

It's a simple touch to place some leaves behind the art piece from Free As A Bird. It makes these birds feel right at home!

Next you will be checking out what the talented Sandra has made

We share our projects to inspire you to create and send cards. It would be wonderful if you CASE-d the Colours of the Ornate Garden Suite and shared your card or other project on our Facebook page.

I'd love you to choose my online shop to purchase from, use the Host Code when asked at check out, & I will send you a gift, along with a handmade card. It's extra hard at the moment to run an online business so any help you give by ordering is greatly appreciated. The items listed below were used in my project above, and link to that item in my online shop.
