Colour Creations - Week #44 - Sahara Sand

   

The participants in AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop are all Stampin' Up! demonstrators and members of Art With Heart. We love to Blog Hop sharing all the Stampin' Up! Colours alphabetically. This is week #44 and Sahara Sand is our colour.

Last month my Craft & Chat classes featured a fun-fold with the Share a Milkshake bundle from the mini catalogue. I shared that card in our Week 42 Real Red blog hop.

One of the class participants mentioned she should have made the card more masculine for her ice-cream loving son-in-law which prompted me to try out a variation. 

Sahara Sand features in the He's the Man specialty designer series paper in the annual catalogue. (P132)

The sentiments have come from Framed Florets on a Stitched Circle shape and on the inside a birthday greeting from Charming Sentiments. I use this one so often it seems to be permanently mounted on a block!

CTC406– Case a Love/Valentine project

The CASE-ing The Catty Crew are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from Australia & New Zealand who take inspiration weekly from the catalogues. The catalogues are a fantastic resource, and we love to inspire you to seek inspiration there too. I have been missing from CASE-ing the Catty since before Christmas and feel so happy to finally be back crafting again.

Favored Flowers DSP is on page 10/11 of the SAB catty with big, bold flowers on one side and slightly more muted patterns on the reverse. It's ideal for fussy-cutting the flowers as a focal point and laying them onto the muted patterns.

Designer series paper was substituted for the Crumb Cake layer and just like the sample, a little background stamping was added. There was an oval from the Framed Florets bundle ready on my craft desk which was a good base to ground the flowers.

The Crumb Cake card at the bottom left is the one I chose to CASE this week. Since I have lots of lovely SALE-A-Bration DSP on hand, I have been on a mission to use it in different ways. There is no point in hanging onto it, because the next lot of pretty papers will be upon us before too long. #loveitchopit.

The layout is very much the same as the catalogue sample but what a difference it makes by making a few changes.

The stamps for the background and the inside of the card are from a mini catalogue bundle, Queen Bee which received its first inking for this project.

More Pool Party

 

On Wednesday night, for the Colour Creations Blog Hop featuring Pool Party I shared the birthday card on the left with the owl.

After cutting the Dry Brushed Metallic specialty designer series paper (page 43 mini catalogue) with Picture This dies, there were the cut outs just looking to be used in a second project. These dies make it possible to stretch gorgeous paper that little bit further!

This card uses mainly Framed Florets to decorate with very lightly coloured flowers and leaves around that great sentiment.

There was still one rectangle which has been added to the inside. along with some more simple stamping.

Colour Creations Week #35 - Pale Papaya

 

Pale Papaya is such a gentle orange and I felt that other subtle colours showed it at its best. Pool Party, Mint Macaron and Calypso Coral also made it onto the card, with a good dollop of basic white too.

The paper is a new pack in the SALE-A-Bration Catty, Dandy Designs 12" X 12", available free with a $180 order. With 48 sheets in lovely soft shades, it's very good value. I'm loving the Framed Florets oval frame dies, aren't they great?

I had a relaxing play with the Petal Park Bundle (stamps & punch). Fussy cut the leaves after the two-step stamping, but the punch deals with all 3 flowers at the one time.
