Have you seen Lemon Lolly?

Last week we got together at my home in South Morang,VIC for Craft & Chat on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning. These sessions happen monthly, most usually on the 3rd Thursday of the month, and the Wednesday immediately before it. This is because I have another booking on the 4th Thursday, which governs my calendar. The groups and I would be happy to welcome new crafters, if you'd like to get in touch. Mob. 0417 500 681.

The card in the middle was the one made in class. It uses the alcohol- ink technique where you scribble with Stampin' Blends on to vellum in patches, then lightly spray with 100% alcohol - Diggers from Bunnings hardware is the brand available in Australia.

After demonstrating the technique for the classes I had some samples to use up, so with a little more colouring, again with Stampin' Blends, my favourite colouring tools, I put together a couple more cards. Changing the orientation of the cards was the major difference.

If you'd like to buy Circle Sayings and the co-ordinating 2 3/8" circle punch it is available in my online shop at 10% discount as a bundle at the moment. Charming Sentiments is also available for order and delivery direct to your home address.

Favourite Retiring Bundle CTC #227

Welcome back to another week of CASE-ing The Catty. The crew is made up of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from all parts of Australia and New Zealand. You are at the blog of Rachel Palmieri, Independent Stampin' Up!® demonstrator. I run classes at my home studio in South Morang, Victoria, share Stampin' Up!® products and tools at parties for my customers, coach my lovely team and create cards and the occasional 3D project. This week we showcase our favourite retiring bundle, and you may guess that mine is Needle & Thread, page 38-39 of the Occasions catalogue.

Needlepoint Nook Suite including the Needle & Thread stamp, Needlepoint Elements Dies and the designer series paper is a whole suite, not just bundle that I will miss when it leaves our catty at the end of May. For now, you can still order the Bundle #150626 for $80, a saving of 10% off the price of the stamp set and dies together. The May class for my Casual Friday night stampers is these three cards, and if you are able to make it to South Morang VIC on 24th May for a 7:30pm start, please get in touch.

Most of the designs were initially inspired by the catalogue picture, and my desire to use the designer series paper to its best advantage.

This colour block card was CASEd from Julie Davisson, a top US demonstrator. You can see her card by clicking on her name. I used the patterned paper to inspire the choice of flowers and colours for my larger block on the left.

There is a die included which pierces the paper in this lovely design (so hard to photograph!) and I've left it to stand alone here. Of course it can also be dressed up with some of the lovely die cut flowers, or watercolouring etc.

The inside of the card has been stamped to match, using the Stamparatus for placement. Now what is your favourite retiring bundle. If you care to share something you've made with it. please link to our Facebook challenge page, or leave me a comment telling me which you'll miss.

If you choose to order this bundle through my online store, I will post you the card and DSP to make these 3 cards. Click on the item below and it takes you straight there. A word to the wise also, Stampin' Up! no longer has an association with Sizzix so the Big Shot and all its accessories will not feature in the coming Annual catalogue, only available while there is stock in the Australian warehouse. Also, due to issues with the trimmer, they are dropping that item and looking for a new supplier.

Mix Old With New

This class in June is all about mixing old and new products. If you want the Petal Passion DSP - so fabulous in black and white, but even more fabulous in colour - you need to put it on an order right now. 11.50pm on 31st May, it's gone.

I've reserved enough for a class on June 15th at 7pm, so you can try out the Stampin' Blends for colouring. They are so smooth, and have been in demand so much that Stampin' Up! had to turn the order code off for a month to allow the manufacturer to catch up. They are simple to understand too, coming in just light and dark of familiar Stampin' Up! colours, and as you can buy them singly, you can get a handful to start with to practise.

I wanted to use the Stitched All Round stamp and matching dies (the label), and laid it over that gorgeous ornate die from Petals & More Thinlits. Now the good news is that Petal Palette and the Petals & More Thinlits ARE carrying over into the new catalogue, but won't be bundled for a 10% discount after tomorrow. Only the paper is retiring.

If you visit my online shop and make an order, use the Host code and I'll be pleased to pop a gift in the mail to you.

Pretty Kitty Pop 'n' Twist Card

For quite a while now I've been wanting to try a Pop 'n' Twist card. My dear cat-crazy friend was having a birthday, and it seemed a fun way to include lots of kitty images onto one card.

My instructions came from a few sources, but mainly a US demo, France Martin. She made her sample using the Butterfly Basics and a few other butterfly related sets. It might be an idea to watch her video a couple of times before you attempt one. I am planning to hold a Saturday class in May at my home studio in South Morang, Victoria. It will be the one card and an envelope, everything supplied, $20. You'll have a choice of images to use, so don't worry if cats aren't your 'thing'.

After choosing a DSP, I elected to use Mint Macaroon as the main colour. If this is a favourite shade of yours, it's time to check your stock and order, as this is one of the five colours which will drop at the end of May. Blushing Bride and Watermelon Wonder also co-ordinate with Birthday Bouquet DSP. That DSP is no longer available, but I did have some hoarded away!!!

The mechanism of this card isn't as hard as it may seem, and once you've made one, you'll be pumping them out all the time. It's quite amazing seeing the images unfold, and the colouring of these is very relaxing too. As this card featuring Pretty Kitty (page 101, Annual Catalogue) has already left my house, I have partly-made another with Bella & Friends, (also page 101, A.C) which has a cute wee dog. They are two sets which are perfect to mix 'n' match together.

More of the Birthday Bouquet DSP featured inside, and the colouring was done with the new Watercolour pencils from the Occasions Catalogue. I even made a matching Mint Macaroon envelope with the In Colour Envelope Paper, it's only $4.20 AU in the Clearance rack for a pack of 20 12inch square sheets - bargain!

If you do shop in my online store, use the hostess code 2RFDUTSY,and I will send you a thank you.
Let me know if you're interested in a Saturday afternoon class. I have 6th May and 13th May free at present.

Happy crafting
Rachel
