December Birthdays

My list of birthdays in December is quite extensive, so I took a break from Christmas cards and other preparations to make a couple of those birthday people a handmade card.

This creation was for one of my lovely grandsons, whose birthday is December 18th. Because I know that he treasures these cards, I try very hard to put an effort into making something that will appeal. He still likes dragons so I had to ink up the dragon from Magical Day (retired) and get the dragon to help "put out this tiny fire". I'm really hoping that Mr 9 'gets' this little joke. By the way, he's not 'lighting' the fire, so that is why his breath has been coloured with Chalk marker.

Birthday Banners is a recent addition to my stash, but I've had the banner dies since they came out with a Christmas stamp a few years back. Good to have another stamp set to use them with, and you choose which words you stamp onto the banners. Always good to have options. Wink of Stella has been added to half the flame and parts of the dragon, but they're not showing up in the photo.

My friend Tina Gillespie, a design team member of Just Add Ink, recently used Bubble Over to show a cool inlaid dies technique. I've provided a link back to Tina's blog, Scissors Paper Card for you to check out her card. I was saying to Tina that I don't think this stamp set has had enough love, because it's a fun-type stamp for teens to adult, and can be fizzy pop to designer beer. I put together a bright card for a work colleague, hence the funny sentiment for the inside. Again, a favourite stamp set, now retired but staying firmly on my shelf - Five For All.

Celebrate The Good Stuff

Although dies are frequently demanded by customers to cut the different shapes out, not everyone has the equipment to do this. Bubble Over might be a stamp set which you have ignored for that very reason, but it is possible to stamp the bottles direct to card, and then use circle punches & scissors to cut their labels, and you have a great card for the beer-loving guy (or gal) in your life.

Notice how the bottles have stamped with whiter patches? I hope you agree that it just looks like shine on the bottles. The sentiment from Picture Perfect Birthday seemed a good fit for this particular card, and the colouring was achieved by using two stamp pads.

There are a number of posts going live while I am on my trip to the USA, this is one of those. Today I will be making a second visit to the Grand Canyon by helicoptor, and travelling along the Colorado river by boat. I might even need to try a US beer after that experience!!!

My online shop is still operating while I am away, and your orders using the Host code earn a gift from me. For orders over $60 before shipping, I will send a pack of rhinestones.

Orders over $100 using the Host Code will go into a draw to receive an exclusive Stampin' Up! shopping tote.

Tea Room Or Wine? CTC#182

Image may contain: text

Welcome back to another week of CASE-ing The Catty. The crew is made up of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from all parts of Australia and New Zealand. You are at the blog of Rachel Palmieri, Independent Stampin' Up!® demonstrator. I run classes at my home studio in South Morang, Victoria, share Stampin' Up!® products and tools at parties for my customers, coach my lovely team and create cards and the occasional 3D project.

This week we are CASE-ing pages 13-25 of our lovely new Annual catalogue. I enjoy a cup of tea as much as a glass of wine, so this time I went with CASE-ing the sample for Half Full. I changed my background stamping to one larger wine glass, although I'm sure the row of small glasses would be relatively easy with the Stamparatus.

The banner has been repeated on my card, and the label too, but with a change in colours, it is quite a different effect. The fine spotted ribbon seems to echo the bubbles!

Tuscan Vineyard has a row of corks, which I added along with the wonderful Wink Of Stella for the sparkling wine. I didn't think I'd managed to capture it in the photos, but it seems to shine and sparkle here.

I shared this on my Facebook page last week, and popped it here too as its just so true!!!

Hop on over to Sandra now, especially all my cat-loving friends! You'll LOVE her project.

If you're placing your order for items from the Annual Catalogue, you may add the host code to your order (if its less than $250) to receive a gift from me.

Beers Of The World

I had so much fun putting this card together for my son's birthday. Bubble Over dictated what his gift would be this year, particularly as he is the most difficult person I know to buy a gift for. Watercolor paper saturated well and coloured with Tranquil Tide and Lemon-Lime Twist made a pleasing background.

A few weeks ago when I went searching for the beers, I found out that these are an item usually only stocked at Christmas time. Luckily, the store manager I spoke to had a feeling he had some at his other store, gave them a call and then reduced the price dramatically for me.

I delivered a number of birthday gifts to that household this weekend just past, all overdue unfortunately. It's a shame they live nearly 2 hours drive away, and have so many sporting obligations. I also found out that my daughter-in-law has kept every card I've made for my 5 year old grand-daughter, that's 6 cards. I was so touched that she does that, definitely makes it worthwhile being a card maker.

Ladies With Style

You've Got Style is a funny stamp set containing a couple of stylish ladies, a lovely sleek cat and a favourite sentiment of mine, 'Hope your birthday is as bubbly as you are'. It was released in June 2017 in the Annual catalogue and before we had Bubble Over to play with. These two sets have the potential to be matched up.
So, we have this chic champagne sipping chick in her pale, pink fur with the luscious, white trim (very textured with textured embossing paste). The colours for the clothing were dictated by the rich Painted With Love Speciality Designer Series Paper. The paper is thick, double-sided, many with gold foil and only available until May 31st.

The cat popped up on the second card, along with his vibrant mistress. It's almost like playing paper dolls when you have to decide on the colours they are wearing!

I'm thinking that if I was thinner, I would be more likely to be the bead, boot and bag lady, than the one in fur (particularly if its not fake fur!). Reminding you, there is just over 3 weeks of SALE-A-Bration left, don't forget to order to get your free items for each $90 spent.

Bubbling Over - AWH Occasions Catalogue Blog Hop

Tonight the Art with Heart team are sharing creative projects using product from the occasions catalogue. The occasions catalogue is current now until 31st May. Be sure to request your copy of the catalogue today (along with the SALE-A-Bration brochure).
SALE-A-Bration is also a great time to join our fabulous team. Ask any of the girls on the hop!

Bubble Over is  a fun Stamp and die set, you will find on page 32 of the  Occasions Catalogue. It is quite versatile, since you can make the bottles full of soda pop for kids, beer for gents and perhaps cider or cruisers for the ladies.

One of the things I really like about this set, are the elements which can be die cut, and no stamping is needed. Straws are the most obvious component here, just look at the grooves at the bend! Even the bottle caps, especially in foil, stand alone, no stamping needed, but you have the choice of adding some mighty cute images if you want to. Can you see the little water droplets? They're Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes pictured on page 33 of the Occasions catalogue. They're with the Sunshine and Rainbows stamp & Die set because obviously they're also raindrops, and page 32 is where you'll see the bottles from Bubble Over.

Sponge daubers are awesome for adding colour to die cuts, and this smaller, soft amount of colour was what I was aiming for, and then a few bubbles scattered about. Think these might be those Cruisers I mentioned earlier!!!

Now it is time to hop over to our next participant, the talented Alisha Watson.

Picture Perfect Party for CTC#160

Welcome back to another week of CASE-ing The Catty. The crew is made up of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from all parts of Australia and New Zealand. You are at the blog of Rachel Palmieri, Stampin' Up!® demonstrator. I run classes at my home studio in South Morang, Victoria, demonstrate Stampin' Up!® products and tools at parties for my customers, coach my lovely team and create cards and the occasional 3D project.

You've been able to order from the new Stampin' Up!® Occasions catalogue for a few days now, I wonder if you have yet? We are CASE-ing pages 4-9 this week, which takes in Picture Perfect Party Suite as well as some other summery stamp sets.
My daughter-in-law starts off the Palmieri family birthday year on January 5th, and one of her gifts is a pendant necklace. It has a black and white floral print, quite similar to the paper, with the odd flower coloured pink, just like I have done using a Stampin' Marker.

The layout of the centre card from the Catalogue pic is the one I chose to CASE here. The Petal Passion designer series paper (DSP) in black and white, is similar to the design on the pendant. Also, this floral has a stripe on the reverse, and the card I CASE-d used a strip of stripe at the bottom of the DSP. You can probably see that I've used the same greeting too.

The sentiment inside is from Picture Perfect Birthday, and the words are perfect for this lovely lady. You can check out this stamp set on page 5 of the Occasions Catalogue, it might just suit the birthday cards you need to make too.

This card is also CASE-d from page 4 but it's a smaller picture at the bottom of the page where two donuts sit on a pair of banners. I've struggled with this card, and ended up with two ice creams (Cool Treats) and two bottles from the NEW Bubble Over (page 32 Occasions). I used the 'treat yourself' from Bubble Over too, while 'Happiest Birthday' is from Cool Treats. I'm not sure if it's all too much, what do you think?

See those sweet little bottle caps? You get 4 in the die set, so you can cut multiples with each pass of the Big Shot. That seems like a good idea.

Next you are heading on to see the talentented Fi Cobbin
