Botanicals CTC#270 Week 2

This week, and next at CASE-ing The Catty we are CASE-ing our favourite retiring punches and dies. I'm rather sad that I haven't made better use of Botanical Bliss and the matching Botanical Tags dies, because they are very pretty.

I have some Watercolour paper which has been coloured with Pigment Sprinkles, also retiring, and decided to cut all the tags from this. I drew inspiration for the card base and sentiment strip from the colours on the watercolour paper, and for this sunflower card I've incuded the delightful, retiring Leaf Punch, and a long, trailing leaf from Botanical Tags dies.

That trailing leaf has a companion stamp, although I've never actually got around to checking if it does die cut the stamped image, but isn't it delightful the way the 2 leaves are placed to stamp across the bottom, side or top of a card? You Always Deliver provided the cheery message here.

Here is a pictorial explanation from Stampin' Up! as to how to cut the sunflower and a close-up of my card front, trying to show you how I machine stitched around the card for extra interest. I was changing patchwork projects, which is a good time to change needles, so before I did, I sewed the paper, which really blunts the needles!

The bird tag is so pretty, and I decided to leave it to make its own statement. I've used a sentiment from the retiring Love You To Pieces, which has the jigsaw puzzle dies. I think the dies might have already sold out on the Last Chance Products selection.

My third card has a simple rose which I kept intact and glued all those pieces down. I had Swirly Frames out to stamp a series of cards for my video next Tuesday, and luckily, that stamp set is NOT retiring.

I wonder what Sandra is sharing this time, lets hop over and check

We share our projects to inspire you to create and send cards. It would be wonderful if you CASE-d the Colours of the Ornate Garden Suite and shared your card or other project on our Facebook page.

I'd love you to choose my online shop to purchase from, use the Host Code when asked at check out, & I will send you a gift, along with a handmade card. It's extra hard at the moment to run an online business so any help you give by ordering is greatly appreciated. The items listed below were used in my project above, and link to that item in my online shop.

Botanical Bird CTC#235

Welcome back to another week of CASE-ing The Catty. The crew is made up of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from all parts of Australia and New Zealand. You are at the blog of Rachel Palmieri, Independent Stampin' Up!® demonstrator. I run classes at my home studio in South Morang, Victoria, share Stampin' Up!® products and tools at parties for my customers, coach my lovely team and create cards and the occasional 3D project. This week we are CASEing the card on page 159, now there's a challenge!

I actually made another card for this blog first, before going on to make this one. When it came time to photograph my projects, the first one didn't photograph well, so I was glad I made this version.

Inspiration came from the strip of DSP, the tag/white strip with writing at the bottom, and an image jutting off the tag. Botanical Bliss and the dies were out for their first use, but I did only order them at the end of May, so it's not as bad as it sounds.

This bird tag top was what really drew me to this set, but the dual script on the sentiment is pretty cute too. There is actually a solid bird in Botanical Bliss, but a little colouring was what I was in the mood for, and the single bird from Free As A Bird was perfect.

The bird cage paper is from the Bird Ballad DSP, which is part of the same suite as Free As A Bird. The Stamparatus was handy to get the position of the leaves in the correct spot, and that meant it was set up to stamp the inside of the card too, in the exact same spot.

The next talented crew member on the hop is the amazing Julia Quinn
