Let's Use Every Bit!

It's always good to use every scrap of paper when crafting, don't you think? Recently I watched my friend Julia Quinn make an off-centre Gate Fold card and decided to try it too.

It can be made with the larger side on the left or the right, depending on how you cut your patterned paper. I used Meandering Meadow DSP, a 6" X 6" paper with scenery, so there was a definite way this paper needed to be cut.

It then occurred to me that the off-cut piece of DSP would make another card quite easily. This is the result, where only a narrow piece of designer series paper has been used along with card cut with Border Basics dies.

A sentiment from Garden Meadow has been used on a label from Nested Essentials dies.

Your orders are very much appreciated, no matter how small or big, every little bit helps me to meet my minimums, and keep on creating. Hopefully you are inspired by some of the projects I share and want to make your own. My online shop is open anytime.

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Lemon Lime Twist - Week 30

Contributors to this blog hop are all members of Claire Daly's Art With Heart group. We love chatting, crafting and getting together in person.

Lemon- Lime Twist, a returning In Color is our colour of the week for week 30. We are very spoiled for choice when it comes to green shades at the moment, and this is one of three 'sharp, acidic' greens.

With a self-challenge to use a neglected set of stamps or dies, I turned to Quiet Meadow. As well as some lovely, stamped images, including text backgrounds, it has wonderful die cut foliage and butterflies.

Granny Apple Green is another of the acidic greens which provides a pleasant contrast to the brighter Lemon- Lime Twist, used here to provide some dimension to the sprigs.

Lemon-Lime ribbon is one part of a duo of ribbon, released with the Zoo Crew suite.

Something Fancy is a stamp set of sentiments only, very useful to have on the shelf.

It's a shame I haven't been able to capture the detail on the butterflies, but you can see the edging on the Basic Border die, one of 6 in that set.

Next we are heading to the blog of my friend Rachel Woollard. I'm sure you'll love her project.

Colour Creations - Week #27 - Mango Melody

The participants in AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop are all Stampin' Up! demonstrators and members of Art With Heart. We love to Blog Hop sharing all the Stampin' Up! Colours. This week we are sharing Mango Melody.

Brights are my favourite colour range, so I was more than happy to add Parakeet Party, Melon Mambo, Orchid Oasis and Starry Sky to the mix.

Simply Fabulous is a stand-alone stamp set from the annual catalogue. It features bold sentiments and flowers & leaves calling out for bright colours. Initially I was making just the card above, but it was so much fun I kept going.

After using the Basic Borders Dies, it seemed economical to decorate the inside with the other piece. It even has the stitching.

Cards 2 & 3 were a bit more random. Well, as random as you can be using the Stamparatus for some step-stamping!

That was for the card with 'let's celebrate'. First that was stamped down the card front in Orchid Oasis, before 'hooray' was added in our star colour, Mango Melody.

The other card had the 'thank you' stamped around the big flowers, before filling in with leaves and smaller flowers.

Next Blog to visit is that of Cathy Proctor, I'm looking forward to seeing her creation too.
Sorry, next button not working this week. Press on Cathy’s name instead.

If at any time you find a broken link, please head to the blog of our host of the AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop, Cathy Proctor, and she will have the list of all participants.
