AWH 2017 Stampin' Up!® Retiring Product Blog Hop

Image may contain: text
Today I am participating in a blog hop along with the super talented ladies in the Art With Heart Team. We thought it would be fun to share some projects using our favourite retiring products from both the 2016-2017 Annual and 2017 Occasions Catalogues!
Select retiring products have discounts of up to 50% off but are only available until sold out. Be sure to place your order before they run out, finishes May 31st.

It's always strange once the demonstrators have seen the new catalogue. There is huge excitement at the new stamps, framelits, papers and accessories featured there, but there is a sadness too. We always feel sorry to say goodbye to some of our favourites, whether that is a stamp set or retiring colours. I am going to feature my favourite (or one of) retiring colour, Mint Macaroon and a very showy thinlet, Party Pop-Up Thinlet.

Officially it is current until May 31st, but they always sell out well before that, so if you MUST have some of the card or ink in Watermelon Wonder, Delightful Dijon, Tip Top Taupe, Mint Macaroon or Cucumber Crush, NOW is the time to act. Some, including mixed packs are reduced but could run out early.

You can go straight to my online store and check out all the Clearance items. There will be some price reductions but others will be too much in demand to be on special. The Host Code for April is 3VS77ZH6, add that at checkout and you will receive a gift from me in the mail.

Mint Macaroon features here, along with Party Pop-Up Thinlets (#140620) in black. This thinlet is also retiring at the end of this catalogue or sooner if stock runs out. It cuts the Happy Birthday on a cake stand, to be a pop up card insert, but here I have trimmed it to fit inside a circle and feature at front and centre of this card front.

This is the second framelit in the Party Pop-Up Thinlet set, and again, it is usually a stand out feature in the centre of a card. It can also be as a card front by trimming the sides. You can have it with the background colour showing through, or add a third colour.

Now there's a version done the opposite way. A black circular background supporting the framelit cut in thick Whisper White card. For extra interest, it has been coloured by sponging with ink and sponge daubers.

Which version do you like better?

Enjoy all the different projects along the Art With Heart Retiring Blog Hop. Next you're heading over to Kate Morgan, who was chosen to exhibit at Stampin' Up!® Onstage Sydney. Her work is amazing!

Cheers, Rachel Palmieri

Framelit Fun Class

I'm sure the ladies enjoyed the class tonight, even if it was a bit squishy! Everyone helped out each other, and the three cards they made were all lovely. Wink of Stella was very popular, as were the Honeycomb Embellishments.
They each made one of the cards on the right, fairly evenly divided between the balloon and the ice cream from Honeycomb Happiness. Party Pop-up Thinlets provided a dramatic backdrop to the chosen honeycomb embellishment.

This card uses the other Party Pop-Up Thinlet and sits on a background stamped with Timeless Textures. It had been tricky deciding on the colours for this card, and it certainly was a great opportunity to allow creativity to flourish. Every one of the cards was different. The Pool Party Glitter ribbon adds a gorgeous touch of shimmer to complement Wink of Stella on the candles.

I don't seem to have a clear photo of the first card we made, but it used the Sunburst Thinlet and Going Global stamps. Some of the class changed the sentiments and used alternatives from Enjoy The Little Things, and their cards were gorgeous too. I'd CASE-d this card from Heidi Baks , I thought she'd done such a lovely job with it, I didn't really change it.

It's a lot of fun to share my love of stamping and paper with such a nice group of ladies.

The next class is Friday March 18th at 7pm, and you'll find a few more details under the tab at the top of the blog, labelled 'Classes'.

Cheers, Rachel

Fancy Some Framelit Fun?

Popping by to let you know about February's classes using the Sunburst Thinlet and Going Global stamps and the Party Pop-up Thinlets. I will also demonstrate how to make the centre pop up, but they're quite fun simply glued on a card front too.
Classes are $20, no need to bring anything, all material and equipment provided.

They are capped at 6, and there is one vacancy for Friday 19th February at 7pm. If there is further demand, I can run the same class on Friday 26th at either 1pm or 7pm. Classes are held at South Morang, Victoria. Do contact me if you'd like any more information. Email rpalmieri5@bigpond.com or phone 0417 500 681.
There is a list of class dates up until May 2016 on my blog, under 'classes'.

Cheers, Rachel
