Colour Creations - Pumpkin Pie

I knew that Pumpkin Pie was going to be a HUGE challenge for me. In fact I had contemplated just giving it a miss, but this blog hop is all about challenges, and it would be cowardly to not try - right?

Nuts & Bolts is a great stamp set for boys (and men?) and there's even
a sample for a girl on page 13 of the Jan-June mini catalogue.

I tackled it by looking at the birthday cards needing to be made, and there are a lot in our family for February and March. I've used Nuts & Bolts with the robot as a different 'bright' to lift the grey.

You may be wondering about the cogs and bolts. When we have a stamp or die set which is a bit special, like Geared Up Garage, I hang onto it. Might as well use Stampin' Up! retired stock than an opposition firms.

I loved it so much I made 2, one for a 4 year old, the other for a 12 year old living in different states. Mr 12 looks pretty happy with it!

CASE A Layout Classic Garage CTC #226

Welcome back to another week of CASE-ing The Catty. The crew is made up of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from all parts of Australia and New Zealand. You are at the blog of Rachel Palmieri, Independent Stampin' Up!® demonstrator. I run classes at my home studio in South Morang, Victoria, share Stampin' Up!® products and tools at parties for my customers, coach my lovely team and create cards and the occasional 3D project. This week the design team are focusing on pages 42 - 55 of the Occasions Catalogue, from which you can order 3rd January - 3rd June 2019.

For the motorbike card I took inspiration from the car card and used the same map paper, torn of course, but for the rest of the card I've reverted to my clean & layered trademark style and diecut an oval to ground the different elements. The bike is simply fussy cut from the DSP (how cool is that?) and one of the stitched rectangles fit around the sentiment. It was a perfect opportunity to use some more DSP by decorating the insides of the cards.

Funnily enough, for the car card, my inspiration was the belly band on the gift box at the top. Where Stampin' Up! used the motor bike on this, I changed it out for a stamped car. So many ways to change things up when you use the catalogue for inspiration. You can even use a different paper and stamp set for quite a different look.

Don't forget to order this paper before the catalogue finishes, so you can fussy cut cars and motorbikes from the paper. The exciting news is that Geared Up Garage will be included in the new Annual catalogue, as are the metal elements, those cute little keys and spanners. They are the perfect embellishment for cards celebrating 'coming of age', a new driver and the spanner is just a guy thing, or a mechanic. My friend knows a female mechanic, how cool to make a card in feminine colours to thank her for servicing your car?

The talented Siobhan Fitzsimmons is following me, you'll love her project this week.

Why don't you share your favourite CASE of a layout from any catalogue on our CASE-ing The Catty Sunday Challenge Facebook page. No need to have a blog, although if you do, add the link too. We love to see your ideas too, you know.

Origami Card

For Logan's birthday I used an origami fold, a simple one but effective, none-the-less. I was thrilled when Logan said how much he loved his origami card, what a smart boy! He also named the car model (I can't remember what it is) and loved the foil from the SALE-A-Brations offering. It changes colour according to the light falling on it, and according to Logan, resembles an oil slick. Apparently, that is very desirable, which made this card a winner!!!

The pattern paper is from the Geared Up Garage suite, and that alone is worth having with fabulous masculine images included.

The numeral '9' on the car door is to indicate which birthday it is, and was the only feature Logan didn't spot. He was very impressed with his Gran!!!

I don't only make cards, I can also supply all your crafting requirements, if you live anywhere in Australia. Stampin' Up! has an extensive product range of beautifully co-ordinated stamps, punches and dies, as well as paper, ink, ribbon & embellishments. It is quite easy to find my online shop here, or click on the items below to see them in my shop.
