Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 27 - Granny Apple Green

Contributors to this blog hop are all members of Claire Daly's Art With Heart group. We love chatting, crafting and getting together in person.

Granny Apple Green is as crisp & fresh as it's name suggests. A perfect opportunity to colour some cacti in Granny Apple Green and create a card using Taco Fiesta.

Taco Fiesta is such a fun, playful stamp set and although it has no dies, the images are quite easy to fussy cut. The fun fold card had lots of surfaces to decorate after adding the black & white papers (equally fun) from Zany Zoo DSP.

The blackboard from Crafting With You holds some more messages stamped in white craft ink for the chalkie look.

Sometimes when I'm making cards for family I may get a little carried away and try to create "one with the lot". This just might have been one of those times!!!!!

Card 2: Easel Card

I couldn't help myself and kept playing with the same materials combining different ideas I couldn't fit on the first card. I love the row of cacti 'people'.

It was a lot of fun trying out different faces. It's been a pleasure adding these bright colours to the B & W and doesn't Granny Apple Green go so beautifully with Azure Afternoon?

Now it's time to leave my fiesta, thank you for passing and partying with me! Next on the blog hop this time is the wonderful Rosa Leyden.

World Card Making Day

It was World Card Making Day on Saturday, and I did try to join in but I was away for the weekend and my Stampin' Write Markers weren't delivered until today, so I was short a few colours.

Stampin' Write Markers - 11 Core Colors $68.75

I finished them off today, once my latest box of goodies from Stampin' Up! arrived. This card used Earthen Textures and I had most of it completed but needed to colour the leaves and attach everything. I decided not to stagger the position on the vase pieces.

Earthern Textures $96.25

Circle Sayings was the stamp assigned for this card but after stamping the cake, which wasn't part of the original design, I decided to use the rounded sentiment from Beautiful Balloons with Happy Birthday from Circle Sayings

The other change I made was not using half circles, but keeping them whole, and I also changed to DSP instead of inked lines.

Heartfelt Hexagons was the third card and I had to wait until I had Azure Afternoon & Berry Burst ink to stamp the dotty frame around the half-hexies.

Heartfelt Hexagon Bundle $66.50

Did you participate in WCMD? And would you make the cards as set out in the tutorial, or would you change them up?

Stampin' Up! are offering three-days free shipping if you shop Monday - Wednesday inclusive this week. Only condition is that your order is above $65. Want to add one of these bundles to your shopping basket? Just click on the graphic of the bundle you want, they all qualify for free shipping.

Inked Botanical Cards

For the last of my crafting with this style of card, and the Inked Botanical DSP, I changed to Lost Lagoon.

Pairing Lost Lagoon with a small amount of Calypso Coral added a lovely 'spark' to the project and of course a little bling to match never hurt!

Pool Party is a lighter shade of Lost Lagoon and worked well for this fringed panel. The same embellishments in a different colour were added to the 'flower' image.

Beautiful Balloons

After ordering Beautiful Balloons on my demonstrator pre-order, I hadn't loved it as much as I thought I would, so I needed to dedicate some time getting to know it better.

The twisted ribbon stamp gives a lovely swish of colour across the card, creating the right atmosphere for a party balloon.

Balloons and fringing at the bottom of the card were die cut from Masterfully Made DSP.

The second card also uses paper from Masterfully Made DSP. The same three balloons were die cut and added after the frame was stamped and die cut.

Countryside Corners Bundle has a single stamp and multiple dies to cut these frames apart. You can make many combinations.

Don't forget to order your designer series papers while there is a 15% discount (finishes June 30th). You can do so much with patterned paper.

Colour Creations - Week #6 - Azure Afternoon

Each week members of the Art With Heart team participate in the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order. This week we feature Azure Afternoon, a brand new colour.

Last week I said during my Facebook live that I would use Beautiful Balloons this week, and I'm pleased to say I have, for the Azure Afternoon post. My biggest issue was, in an effort to stick to a budget, I purchased multi packs of the new colours, and there were only 2 sheets of each colour, so I now have just the tiniest scraps left!!!

When a new catalogue comes out, everyone is always excited to choose their favourites and order. Beautiful Balloons was in my pre-order and I made a couple of cards and then put it aside. This week it was time to play with it again.

To make the Azure Afternoon card go further, I have only heat embossed a sentiment onto a narrow strip. Inside I stamped a balloon, I stamped 'sparkles onto the Boho Blue balloons and the frame is also stamped in Azure Afternoon.

The Azure Afternoon is looking a bit too much like Boho Blue in these photos, but I think my second card might show the colour off a bit better.

Jacque Williams, a New Zealand demonstrator shared this simple wiper card on her blog which inspired a rush of creativity from me. I made  so many different cards using this fold but actually this one didn't work out so well. The pinata kept getting caught up on the flags, so I changed it onto a wobble spring.

Thank you for dropping by my blog. I'd love to hear whether you like Azure Afternoon or not.

The amazingly talented Tina Gillespie follows this week for some more inspiration using Azure Afternoon.
