Colour, Colour, Colour

Now I have made a total of five cards using In The Moment and Beside Me as the subject. These are the 3 images from In The Moment, two made using the Fresh As a Daisy DSP and one using the online paper, Hello Irresistable DSP

If you love patterned paper as much as I do, this 15% discount on Designer Series Paper will be very good news. It is for all of June while stock lasts, let's hope they have plenty in the warehouse. Shop ONLINE and the discount will be displayed in the shop.

This card is a wiper card - the sentiment swings over and up when the card is opened. It's quite an easy fun fold which I watched Jacque Williams, NZ demonstrator share on YouTube and there is a link a little further on in this post.

Pretty Peacock and Lost Lagoon are the returning colours in this DSP. Both seem to go really well with the new In Colors, which are all on the coloured art piece, along with other new and returning colours.

Jacque Williams shared her Easy Wiper card on her blog and inspired me to try making them too.

The back of the card features a partial image, along with an appropriate sentiment.

If your wish list is rather long, have you thought about joining up as a hobby demonstrator? Team members come to classes for free, or if you live too far away to do that, you can chat on Facebook with demos from our team and the wider umbrella of members. You start with a 20% discount off your purchases, so you can buy 20% more!!!! I'm happy to make a time to chat to you about what it all means or if you're happy to choose $235 worth of products and pay $169 with free shipping on your first order, here is the link.

Colour Creations - Week #5 - Wild Wheat

It hasn't taken long for me to going from wondering if I'd ever use this colour, to absolutely loving it! In The Moment provided the perfect image to colour using Stampin' Blends in Wild Wheat for the hat and glass of wine.

Maybe the secret is to always place the colours I'm least fond of with Boho Blue, which I adore! Stamping the dress onto DSP allows you to 'dress' the lass in lovely patterns such as this stripe from the Countryside Inn DSP.

The other DSP is from the pack Fresh As A Daisy, which is probably why they co-ordinate so nicely.

Next week we will use Azure Afternoon for our projects. My talented friend Andrea Sargent has a wonderful project to share this week.

Colour Creations Blog hop - Week #3 - Moody Mauve

This week we are featuring Moody Mauve, our third In Color to be showcased on Colour Creations Blog Hop. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy all the different projects on the blog hop.

In The Moment has been on my shelf for at least a year, I don't recollect exactly how long it has been in the Stampin' Up! catalogue. I enjoy trying out older stamps with new colours and papers, it gives them such a fresh, new feel.

Fresh As A Daisy DSP seemed to suit although the flower centres are more Copper Clay than Moody Mauve. Two layers of die cut daisies cut from basic white enhance the art piece. Admittedly there is a lot of Boho Blue on this card also, but it suits so well, don't you think?

Cheerful Daisies is the name of the stamp & die bundle, newly released by Stampin' Up! For a suite I didn't think I needed, it has been getting a lot of use!!!

The wonderfully talented Rosa Leyden follows, let's go check out her project.

Hello Beautiful

I can't stop using "In The Moment" stamp set, and I've used paper piecing again.

You stamp the image onto the background, and then also stamp onto the paper you are wanting to cut and use. Leave the outline for definition, but if you mess up, it's forgiving because of the stamped image underneath.

It seemed a good idea to use up some of those pretty strips of DSP that are leftover after a crafting session, including a piece that matches her sweet summer dress.

In The Moment With You

These two images from In The Moment had not been receiving the attention they deserved, so when I was sharing a paper-piecing technique on Facebook, I chose these two as my models.
You can check out my video here.

Paper-piecing is not difficult, and it can be a lot of fun - just like paper dolls were when I was young.

For the first card, her top and trousers have been stamped and cut from Abstract Beauty SDSP, which is on special in the Last Chance Sale. The SDSP on the card base is also from Abstract Beauty. There are a diverse range of patterns and colours in there.

This paper measures 6" x 4", so there is no need to trim the short side, and the piece taken from the longer side is ideal for trimming the inside of the card.

On this card, the blanket and her jeans are paper-pieced. The sentiments have been brought in from another couple of stamp sets I was playing with at the same time. By My Side had the one used on this card above , while Happy Birthday is from Lovely & Lasting.

Colour Creations Week 6 Balmy Blue

The participants in Colour Creations are all Stampin' Up! demonstrators and members of Art With Heart from all over Australia. We love to Blog Hop sharing all the Stampin' Up! Colours. This is week six of Colour Creations Blog Hop, and the colour featured this week is Balmy Blue. From now on, we will working our way alphabetically through the colours with Basic Gray next week's colour.

Balmy Blue is one of my favourite colours (because its blue) and I had a little play around with stamping off, and adding layers of colour using shapes from Hello Beautiful on the background.

There is a lot of variety in that particular stamp set, making it equally suitable for men, women or kids. This one has been designated for the girls, with the addition of an image from In The Moment.

A little of the Balmy Blue has been added with a blending brush, to create an almost-monotone creation this week.

Next you'll head to the lovely and talented Sharon Davern

If at any time you find a broken link, please head to the blog of this week’s host of the AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop, Cathy Proctor, and she will have the list of all participants.
