Life's Adventurous Bicycle

Often when I see sketches with multiple layers, I'm reluctant to try them. When I do though, I'm often so pleased with the result it makes me wonder why I hesitate. This ended up being such fun to put together, love the colours in these patterned papers.
Stampin' Up!® make it so easy for us with all these lovely papers that coordinate without any thought and I chose a couple from the All Abloom DSP Stack for this. The colours are listed on the cover, so it is easy to pick out the ink, card  or ribbon to match everything up.

There is a guest designer at Freshly Made Sketches this week, thanks Kim for the challenging (and FUN!) sketch.
I used another stamp from the Hostess stamp set Life's Adventure, and  THAT blossom from Petite Petals. I really do need to use some of the other flowers from Petite Petals or they'll feel neglected, but you know how it is when you get a favourite?

I just happened to have a scrap of card from the Fringe Scissors class samples, and it fitted under the strip and matched the colour scheme, so it has been added in. You can even get a glimpse of how I finished off the inside of this card with a matching strip of DSP and some more Petite Petals flowers.

I hope you have something nice planned for the weekend,
Rachel

It's Your Sparkling Celebration

I had some friends over last night for a little stamping and the Hostess stamp set, Life's  Adventure was used for the 'inside' sentiment in an 18th birthday card. It's perfect for that, but before I put it back on the shelf, I decided to use it for this card using The Paper Players sketch.

I stamped in Strawberry Slush onto Shimmery White card for another hint of sparkle and then went to town colouring with Stampin' Write Markers in a range of soft colours: Pistachio Pudding, So Saffron, Blushing Bride and Pool Party. The flower is one of my favourite blossoms from Petite Petals, punched out of course. Dazzling Details has added some sparkle and shine with a row of  rhinestones as the finishing touch!

Thanks for checking out my blog, Rachel

Adventure Ahead FM168

My husband begins a new job this week so I decided to put a little card together to wish him well in the next phase of his life. I chose the train from Traveler, a new Stampin' Up! stamp set and paired it with a greeting which usually comes with a bicycle in the Hostess stamp set Life's Adventure.  You can probably read it for yourself, but it says 'enjoy the adventure ahead.' I received both those stamps in my BBB last Thursday, so I could hardly wait to find a reason to use them! The Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder is a new one in the catalogue too, I'm planning to have a lot of fun with it too, I can see many different ways to use it.

There's a double challenge at Friday Mashup, but I have left out the summer part of the challenge and just used the suggested colours: Mossy Green, Hello Honey and Lost Lagoon.

Bye for now
Rachel
