Tonight the Art With Heart team are sharing some creative projects by adding texture with embossing. Embossing can add a lovely dimension, and with our wonderful Stampin' Up! products, we can create many different looks. These include heat embossing using versamark and embossing powder, dry embossing using textured folders or by adding embossing paste.
Tonight I am sharing a new stamp set, Color Me Happy, released along with Stampin' Blends on November 1st. Stampin' Blends are an alcohol marker which are available in Stampin' Up!® colours to co-ordinate with card, ribbons and other embellishments. I used my favourite Texture Impressions Embossing Folder (TIEF) Garden Trellis, to show off these coloured images.
The textured finish behind this clean image adds enough interest to lift it from plain to perfectly pleasing. Embossing folders are a relatively inexpensive item, although you need a Big Shot or similar to use them. The thin black layer behind the art piece draws attention to it being set toward the left of the card.
Still using Colour Me Happy, these lanterns are another couple of images longing to be coloured. This time I've added to the project with some embossing paste, lightly coloured with a few drops of ink from a re-inker and applied to the card using a stencil also available through my online shop, or your demonstrator. These supplies can be seen on page 201 of your Stampin' Up!® Annual catalogue.
If you started partway through the blog, it is time for you to pop on over to see what the very talented Alisha Watson is sharing with us this time.
