Wedding Celebration

There was a request for a wedding card from one of my customers this month, so I used two upcoming stamp sets to create a wedding bower over the sentiment. Using Decorative Borders, 2 of the same image were stamped, coloured with Stampin' Blends and fussy cut.

The sentiment from another new stamp set, Something Fancy, was stamped prior to putting the card front through the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder, and some splattering with a Stampin' Marker added to the rustic effect.

Both these stamp sets will be available to order either through me, or your Stampin' Up! demonstrator from 5th January.

Cottage Rose Step-It-Up

Birthday cards are always needed and back on 20th September I shared a video on making some using Cottage Rose and stepping each one up a bit.

That involves taking a simple stamped card, adding layers, texture embellishments etc. which is how the final card ended up like this.

Colour Creations Week 6 Balmy Blue

The participants in Colour Creations are all Stampin' Up! demonstrators and members of Art With Heart from all over Australia. We love to Blog Hop sharing all the Stampin' Up! Colours. This is week six of Colour Creations Blog Hop, and the colour featured this week is Balmy Blue. From now on, we will working our way alphabetically through the colours with Basic Gray next week's colour.

Balmy Blue is one of my favourite colours (because its blue) and I had a little play around with stamping off, and adding layers of colour using shapes from Hello Beautiful on the background.

There is a lot of variety in that particular stamp set, making it equally suitable for men, women or kids. This one has been designated for the girls, with the addition of an image from In The Moment.

A little of the Balmy Blue has been added with a blending brush, to create an almost-monotone creation this week.

Colour Creations Week 4 Sweet Sorbet

The participants in Colour Creations are all Stampin' Up! demonstrators and members of Art With Heart. We love to Blog Hop sharing all the Stampin' Up! Colours. This is week four of this round of Colour Creations Blog Hop, and the In Color featured this week is Sweet Sorbet.

As I was ironing the other day, I was inspired to try to recreate my t-shirt as a One-Sheet-Wonder. It had occurred to me that Painted Poppies stamp set was quite close the the featured flower, and Hello Beautiful stamp set has squiggles and blobs which would be useful.

I didn't cover the whole sheet of card, thinking some white spaces might be useful, but I'm not sure if they really were. I was able to make six cards from that stamped sheet though, and that made me happy.

This card with three segments is a fun one to make with designer series paper that co-ordinates or like this with contrasting colours and texture. Sweet Sorbet was embossed with Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder and Old Olive with the multi-lingual 'Thanks' embossing folder. It comes paired with another with 'Hello' in many languages.

You take 3 card-front-sized pieces of card, and slice all three at the same time so that the pieces are inter-changeable. No special measurements are needed, so long as you have 3 that match each other.

For the other 3 cards, there is a regular card front, mounted on a black matt, another with the card front sliced into 4 pieces and lastly, a slimline card with Postage Card Punch pieces lined up along the centre.

Highland Heather For Colour Creations Blog Hop

Highland Heather is our colour for week 22, a lovely softer, subtle version of purple. It contrasts beautifully with Gorgeous Grape (darker) and Fresh Freesia (lighter and pinker). The participants in Colour Creations are all Stampin' Up! demonstrators and members of Art With Heart.

Hand-Penned Petals was one of my first picks when the catalogue was released, and it remains a favourite still. Building up the layers gives added interest to this card.

Although there is a lovely script to the sentiments included with Hand-Penned Petals, sometimes it's not the right one. That's when Many Messages comes in handy, and I usually stamp out multiples and keep them in a little tub, ready to use.

The Highland Heather ribbon is in the Annual catalogue, and with one selvedge cut off to fray the ribbon and expose the silver thread, it shows the lovely glitter. I sewed it onto the card, since I had matching thread on my sewing machine at the time.
