Hello Beautiful

I can't stop using "In The Moment" stamp set, and I've used paper piecing again.

You stamp the image onto the background, and then also stamp onto the paper you are wanting to cut and use. Leave the outline for definition, but if you mess up, it's forgiving because of the stamped image underneath.

It seemed a good idea to use up some of those pretty strips of DSP that are leftover after a crafting session, including a piece that matches her sweet summer dress.

By My Side

At the end of May I shared on Facebook Live a paper piecing technique that's been around for ever & a day, as my lovely Mum used to say.

A very easy technique, you stamp the image once where it will be ending up, unless you are planning to die cut of fussy cut. By My Side does not have dies, so I chose to place them on basic white card and decided later which shape to cut.

You will have to also stamp onto pattern paper to 'dress' them in this case, although you can construct a scene using this technique. Clothes were all I used for these images, the remainder is coloured using Stampin' Blends, our alcohol markers.

By My Side is on page 52 of the Annual catalogue, tucked away in the kids & babies section.

It has been a long weekend here in Victoria, celebrating Queens Birthday. Of course the days are chilly, but I've filled them by baking biscuits and making pumpkin soup from my own home-grown pumpkin.

Paper Dolls With Beautiful Moments

It has been a while since I shared a video explaining paper-piecing, and I almost forgot to share photos of all the cards! This is an easy technique, as long as you don't mind a little fussy cutting.

The video is 25 minutes long and you will see me make the second blue card. Click here to go to video

Beautiful Moments is a stamp set with lovely images of a women and some little girls. It is lovely coloured with Stampin' Blends, and this paper-piecing technique just adds another dimension. I might have mentioned during the video that it takes me back to dressing paper dolls!!!
