Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 18 - Coastal Cabana

Contributors to this blog hop are all members of Claire Daly's Art With Heart group. Every Wednesday night at 8p.m AEST we feature a fabulous Stampin' Up! colour, in alphabetical order.

Coastal Cabana is a lovely shade of blue-green and I had so many ideas for this project. However, I have been looking at my shelves and trying to use stamps that haven't had enough ink lately and Beauty of the Deep popped out at me.

It sat for a day or two before I decided to go back to the past to try out the retiform technique again. It really is a lot of fun and blending brushes make it so much easier than it used to be. I grabbed a pile of blue and green inks including Coastal Cabana and made a start.

Maybe I should have photographed the process as I worked, but it is something you can google and learn that way. I masked a small area and blended ink before stamping with the same shade and a stamp (or two) from Beauty of the Deep. You move the masks around creating geometric patches to colour and stamp.

I find starting with a full quarter sheet of Basic White is best because it can be trimmed back afterwards to use the best portion of your artwork. To finish off I stamped 'Hey.' from Saying Hey and diecut 'friend' from Friends For Life dies to make a notecard to post to a friend.

Our next talented Art With Heart team member is the lovely Andrea Sargent

Colour Creations Blog Hop -Week 38 - Parakeet Party

Contributors to this blog hop are all members of Claire Daly's Art With Heart group. We love chatting, crafting and getting together in person. This is week 38 of our blog hop and the featured colour is a-soon-retiring In Color - Parakeet Party.

I have been absent for many weeks now but I was very excited to play with some new goodies which have arrived here. Everyday Details is a new bundle, in the mini catalogue on page 28 and I've used dies and stamps from the bundle.

The flowers you can glimpse on the inside are actually attached to a teacup, I selectively stamped them.

The dies in this bundle include rectangles with holes, and circles with holes as well as patterned strips to make more holes!

A friend and I had a colouring session last week with Stampin' Blends. These smaller images seem ideal.

Next we are heading to the blog of my lovely friend Catherine Proctor. I'm sure you'll love her project.

Colour Creations - Week #8 - Lemon Lolly

Contributors to this blog hop are all members of Claire Daly's Art With Heart group. We love chatting, crafting and getting together in person. This week we are show-casing a new colour to the Stampin' Up! range - Lemon Lolly.

It's even more fun sharing our creations on Colour Creations Blog Hop with the new colours in the range. What do you think about Lemon Lolly?

Painted Posies Textured Impressions Embossing Folder adds a subtle floral background for the stamped flowers.

Two favourite stamp sets completed this card, Sending Smiles for the sentiments and Two Tone Flora the flowers.

Next team member this week is the very talented Andrea Sargent.

Colour Creations - Week #6 - Azure Afternoon

Each week members of the Art With Heart team participate in the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order. This week we feature Azure Afternoon, a brand new colour.

Last week I said during my Facebook live that I would use Beautiful Balloons this week, and I'm pleased to say I have, for the Azure Afternoon post. My biggest issue was, in an effort to stick to a budget, I purchased multi packs of the new colours, and there were only 2 sheets of each colour, so I now have just the tiniest scraps left!!!

When a new catalogue comes out, everyone is always excited to choose their favourites and order. Beautiful Balloons was in my pre-order and I made a couple of cards and then put it aside. This week it was time to play with it again.

To make the Azure Afternoon card go further, I have only heat embossed a sentiment onto a narrow strip. Inside I stamped a balloon, I stamped 'sparkles onto the Boho Blue balloons and the frame is also stamped in Azure Afternoon.

The Azure Afternoon is looking a bit too much like Boho Blue in these photos, but I think my second card might show the colour off a bit better.

Jacque Williams, a New Zealand demonstrator shared this simple wiper card on her blog which inspired a rush of creativity from me. I made  so many different cards using this fold but actually this one didn't work out so well. The pinata kept getting caught up on the flags, so I changed it onto a wobble spring.

Thank you for dropping by my blog. I'd love to hear whether you like Azure Afternoon or not.

The amazingly talented Tina Gillespie follows this week for some more inspiration using Azure Afternoon.

Colour Creations - Week #5 - Wild Wheat

It hasn't taken long for me to going from wondering if I'd ever use this colour, to absolutely loving it! In The Moment provided the perfect image to colour using Stampin' Blends in Wild Wheat for the hat and glass of wine.

Maybe the secret is to always place the colours I'm least fond of with Boho Blue, which I adore! Stamping the dress onto DSP allows you to 'dress' the lass in lovely patterns such as this stripe from the Countryside Inn DSP.

The other DSP is from the pack Fresh As A Daisy, which is probably why they co-ordinate so nicely.

Next week we will use Azure Afternoon for our projects. My talented friend Andrea Sargent has a wonderful project to share this week.

Colour Creations - Week #4 - Pebbled Path

Pebbled Path is our fourth In Color, a very useful neutral which I have really enjoyed creating with this week. I'm sure the Art With Heart team members participating in the Colour Creations Blog Hop this week will share some amazing inspiration for us all.

I have chosen Beside Me for the stamp set. This time I used the Father's Day sentiment, heat embossed in black.

The dramatic die cut piece is from the Around the Bend set, and with the added ink on a blending brush, adds texture behind the father & son image.

The inside was stamped with a couple of sentiments from Beside Me, and another partial image from that set too. I wanted it to seem like the little boy was the only child.

Week #2 when we focused on Copper Clay I made the first card using Beside Me and now for week #4 here it is again. Make sure you return next Wednesday to see more of Wild Wheat, the fifth In Color.

The very talented Rachel Woollard follows, I'm looking forward to seeing Rachel's card.
