Three Ways with Stack and Slash

For this stack and slash technique you take 3 different patterned pieces of DSP in a card front size. Mine was 9.5cm by 13.5 cm. You then mix and match the pieces so there are three different patterns on each card.

This card is simply made with one fussy cut flower from Serene Love DSP. This paper can be found in the online store.

There are a lot of part flowers along the edges of the DSP and they make lovely decorations for the inside of cards.

This card ended up with 2 flowers from the Serene Love DSP, and a sentiment from Memorable Blooms.

Stamped images from Memorable Blooms complement the sentiment from the set. Spotlight on Nature dies have a variety of circle dies in different patterns and sizes.

Another decorated card inside.

Mini catalogue is 'live' on 07.01.2025

All products used to make these cards are Stampin' Up! and are available in my online store or contact me to find out more details. It is a good time to shop during February as SALE-A-Bration continues until the 28th where you earn free product with every $100 increment of your order, so one stamp/die bundle will usually get you there, but it is also a good time to stock up on the basics like card and glue.

Colour Creations Blog Hop- Week 47 - Soft Sea Foam

Contributors to this blog hop are all members of Claire Daly's Art With Heart group. We love chatting, crafting and getting together in person, which we did recently for Onstage - our annual Stampin' Up! conference. This is week 47 of our blog hop and the featured colour is Soft Sea Foam.

Soft Sea Foam sits in the Subtles family and so does the returning-as-an-InColor, Pretty in Pink, a happy companion. My ink pads have been delayed somewhere but I did receive new Stampin' Blends and so I was able to colour with those.

Before die cutting using Sentimental Park dies, a piece of adhesive sheet was added to the back of the card stock. That makes it so much easier to add them to the card front without mess.

The flowers were stamped in Smoky Slate to keep them soft before adding the colour.

After adding pearls to the flower centres, I decided a few other larger ones seemed appropriate.

Heartfelt Hexagon stamps and punch are big favourites of mine, and it looks like they may be still available at the end of the catalogue, even if only in the Online Exclusives.

Let's go check out the lovely Christine Blain's work of art.

If at any time you find a broken link or would like to see a full list of participants, please head to the blog of our host of the AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop, Catherine Proctor.

Happy crafting,

Making Use Of Patterned Paper

The Modern Garden DSP will retire soon, and I had to share this pretty piece which reminds me a little of a summery Liberty print fabric. I used nearly the whole 6" X 6" piece for this card front, with a cut to allow both sides of the paper to be seen.

This design is one of those which lets you use up scarps from the desk. The leftover from the first card is sliced with one piece turned over and other scraps make up the rest of the puzzle.

Heartfelt Hexagon is such a useful stamp & punch bundle which I am using a lot for labels. The frame for sentiments sets them off, whether you use a matching or contrasting colour and there is a lot of variety in the sentiments too.

Many of these sentiments are even suitable for the inside of cards.

More Modern Garden Christmas

Another Christmas card for my stash using the Garden Walk DSP. You can make a few of these by cutting the centre panel 8cm X 12cm and mounting it on Poppy Parade card stock .5cm larger.

On Wednesday I shared the Garden Green card for a Colour Creations blog hop featuring that shade of green and tonight here is its buddy in Pretty Peacock.

The sentiment is included in Modern Garden stamp, but I also used the frame stamp & punch from Heartfelt Hexagon, an online exclusive at the moment which is to be released in the next mini catalogue (January 2024).

Heartfelt Hexagon Bundle

Although Modern Garden is bundled with a punch, I chose not to purchase that one and use the Heartfelt Hexagon punch in its place.

Modern Garden Photopolymer stamp $42

Garden Walk DSP -$21.75

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 25 - Garden Green

Contributors to this blog hop are all members of Claire Daly's Art With Heart group. We love chatting, crafting and getting together in person.

Garden Green is the colour for week 25, and I selected a paper from Garden Walk 6" X 6" DSP. There is a great selection of colours and patterns in the pack, and I have made it my mission to make as many cards as I can from a quarter pack for my last class for 2023, in November.

This was one of two papers in the pack which had a "Christmas feel". I will share the other later in the week. The sentiment from Modern Garden has been stamped in red onto a Heartfelt Hexagon label.  I used Joy of Noel to stamp holly and die cut leaves etc.

Our next delightful team member is my good friend Tina Gillespie.

World Card Making Day

It was World Card Making Day on Saturday, and I did try to join in but I was away for the weekend and my Stampin' Write Markers weren't delivered until today, so I was short a few colours.

Stampin' Write Markers - 11 Core Colors $68.75

I finished them off today, once my latest box of goodies from Stampin' Up! arrived. This card used Earthen Textures and I had most of it completed but needed to colour the leaves and attach everything. I decided not to stagger the position on the vase pieces.

Earthern Textures $96.25

Circle Sayings was the stamp assigned for this card but after stamping the cake, which wasn't part of the original design, I decided to use the rounded sentiment from Beautiful Balloons with Happy Birthday from Circle Sayings.

Circle Sayings Bundle $72.75

The other change I made was not using half circles, but keeping them whole, and I also changed to DSP instead of inked lines.

Heartfelt Hexagons was the third card and I had to wait until I had Azure Afternoon & Berry Burst ink to stamp the dotty frame around the half-hexies.

Heartfelt Hexagon Bundle $66.50

Did you participate in WCMD? And would you make the cards as set out in the tutorial, or would you change them up?

Stampin' Up! are offering three-days free shipping if you shop Monday - Wednesday inclusive this week. Only condition is that your order is above $65. Want to add one of these bundles to your shopping basket? Just click on the graphic of the bundle you want, they all qualify for free shipping.
