Textured Love
With new stamps in the craft room, it was time to play. I had a card buffet as my first face-to-face event for 2025 and I wanted to make a variety of styles of card for crafters to try out. This helps me to see what might appeal for future purchases (mine) and classes.
With this version I tried roughing up and folding edges for a shabby chic feel. Also, this card has the largest bouquet of fussy cut flowers and needs to be in portrait format to fit everything.
The background has been stamped with a new online stamp, Elements of Text. The words were second generation stamping and the splatters were first, both in Night of Navy. 'Happy birthday' in that lovely bold script is from a set called With You in Mind.
This card is the clean & simple version, which was actually the most popular. The flowers are fussy cut from a lovely DSP, Serene Love, which has only been in store for a short while and is already reduced to $15.22 for a full-size pack of 12" X 12" paper.
None of the paper is wasted as even the partial images from the edge of the paper can be fussy-cut and used. Check under Last Chance Products for Serene Love DSP, and in Online Exclusives for Elements of Text & With You in Mind.
This card was the top favourite at the card buffet and I actually had to prep more packs between sessions to cater for the demand!

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 39 -Old Olive
Contributors to this blog hop are all members of Claire Daly's Art With Heart group. We love chatting & crafting together. This week we are creating with Old Olive. This is a colour I use infrequently, I suspect because it has been around so long. I don't dislike it, so I allowed myself a session one afternoon to just play.
Using two stamp & die bundles - Linked Together and Delightful Wishes I mixed and matched to create three cards. This one had a majority of pieces from Linked Together but 'Wishing you well' is from Delightful Wishes.
Serene Love DSP comes in three monotone colours, Lost Lagoon, Night of Navy & Old Olive. I'm sure you have seen them already.
Card 2 used the masks from Linked Together (there are stamps, dies & masks in this bundle). All the ink blending used Old Olive but with each layer it became darker & darker.
Frequently I use three panels on my card front, whether it be DSP, embossed card or masked and blended as it is here. This is all 5 of the Linked Together masks inked one after the other.
The oval & sentiment are from Linked Together too, but the branch & flowers belong to Delightful Wishes. I really believe these two bundles work really well together.
CARD 3:
I wasn't going to share this card, it was the first one I made and now looks a bit basic. I was experimenting with the masks not worrying about the numbers on them or lining them up, just always using Old Olive. I would like to continue to experiment with that and take it further. The masks are from Linked Together, "wishing you a happy birthday" and the die for the label are all Delightful Wishes and the flowers have been cut from Serene Love DSP.

Three Ways with Stack and Slash
For this stack and slash technique you take 3 different patterned pieces of DSP in a card front size. Mine was 9.5cm by 13.5 cm. You then mix and match the pieces so there are three different patterns on each card.
This card is simply made with one fussy cut flower from Serene Love DSP. This paper can be found in the online store.
There are a lot of part flowers along the edges of the DSP and they make lovely decorations for the inside of cards.
This card ended up with 2 flowers from the Serene Love DSP, and a sentiment from Memorable Blooms.
Stamped images from Memorable Blooms complement the sentiment from the set. Spotlight on Nature dies have a variety of circle dies in different patterns and sizes.
Another decorated card inside.
All products used to make these cards are Stampin' Up! and are available in my online store or contact me to find out more details. It is a good time to shop during February as SALE-A-Bration continues until the 28th where you earn free product with every $100 increment of your order, so one stamp/die bundle will usually get you there, but it is also a good time to stock up on the basics like card and glue.
