Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 24 - Fresh Freesia

Fresh Freesia was introduced as an In Color in 2021 and was due to retire at the end of the last Annual catalogue earlier this year, but surprise, surprise - it entered our subtle range as a core colour!

I had two cards to make for two significant birthdays coming up soon. One is a 30th on 15th October, the other for a 95th on 17th October.

Card 1: Fancy Fold for 95th Birthday

The 95th is for the mother of one of my team members, Leanne. Her mother, Rhonda has been staying with her daughter for a few months and enjoys coming to card classes with Leanne. We all enjoy her delightful company and sense of humour!

I'm not sure what the name of this fancy fold is but I'm fairly sure it was fellow Art With Heart team member Kate Morgan who shared it at some stage. I used DSP from Masterfully Made (AC) & Delightful Floral (online exclusive) because they matched so nicely. The large flowers were cut from the Delightful Floral paper, as I was waiting on the Translucent Florals bundle to be delivered.

Rhonda does not let age hold her back, she loves to make cards, crochet and get out and about keeping Leanne on the go. They are about to go on a cruise to New Zealand which I'm sure they will really enjoy.

Card 2: Fancy Fold CASEd from Emma Goddard Coastal Crafter

Masterfully Made DSP was the source of all the fancy papers for this 30th birthday card for my son's girlfriend. Lasting Joy provided the sentiment and flowers. The stems are stamped separately from the flowers so it was easy to use two different colours.

Alphabest had some small numerals suitable for this small square, with more flowers stamped at the base of the panel for writing a personal message.

Next team member this week is the wonderful Theresa Gerrard

Colour Creations - Week #6 - Azure Afternoon

Each week members of the Art With Heart team participate in the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order. This week we feature Azure Afternoon, a brand new colour.

Last week I said during my Facebook live that I would use Beautiful Balloons this week, and I'm pleased to say I have, for the Azure Afternoon post. My biggest issue was, in an effort to stick to a budget, I purchased multi packs of the new colours, and there were only 2 sheets of each colour, so I now have just the tiniest scraps left!!!

When a new catalogue comes out, everyone is always excited to choose their favourites and order. Beautiful Balloons was in my pre-order and I made a couple of cards and then put it aside. This week it was time to play with it again.

To make the Azure Afternoon card go further, I have only heat embossed a sentiment onto a narrow strip. Inside I stamped a balloon, I stamped 'sparkles onto the Boho Blue balloons and the frame is also stamped in Azure Afternoon.

The Azure Afternoon is looking a bit too much like Boho Blue in these photos, but I think my second card might show the colour off a bit better.

Jacque Williams, a New Zealand demonstrator shared this simple wiper card on her blog which inspired a rush of creativity from me. I made  so many different cards using this fold but actually this one didn't work out so well. The pinata kept getting caught up on the flags, so I changed it onto a wobble spring.

Thank you for dropping by my blog. I'd love to hear whether you like Azure Afternoon or not.

The amazingly talented Tina Gillespie follows this week for some more inspiration using Azure Afternoon.

Colour Creations #34 Pacific Point

The participants in AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop are all Stampin' Up! demonstrators and members of Art With Heart. We love to Blog Hop sharing all the Stampin' Up! Colours alphabetically. This is week #34 and we are sharing Pacific Point.

Somewhere I had seen a card using two stamped newspaper images and filed that idea in my memory to use for my grandson's card.

This gave the space to really personalise the message. It's pretty obvious that Isaac is turning 13 this birthday, and he wants money to put toward an E-bike!

I'm so lucky to be a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, always getting a discount off my craft supplies! Making cards like this for family is one of the main reasons I love crafting.

Following me this week is the talented Rosa Leydon

Hip Hippo Potamus

My 8 year-old grandson had a sleep-over at our house last week, and so we did some crafting with the hippos. Mr 8 loves the Cut & Emboss machine, and is happy to die cut a pile of snorkels & masks, bath tubs, boats, grass etc.

After he had made his cards and headed off to bed, I made up some cards of my own. I do need to replace my Smokey Slate Stampin' Blends - with all these elephants and hippos, they have run dry.

My first play with Alphabest stamp set, and the cute little punch, an easy way to generate your own greeting in a fun, colourful way. The addition of the zig zag edging is another way to add a little more.

Now isn't Miss Hippo just so gorgeous in her sunglasses?

Finally, our ballet dancing hippo makes a grand entrance through the red curtains! I had a scrap of Real Red card that had been embossed with the Corrugated Embossing Folder (retired), but it looked like the folds in curtains, I just needed to make the top valance.

SALE-A-Bration is an opportunity to get a little extra in your order, free, courtesy of Stampin' Up! Hippest Hippos is one stamp set you can choose to add to your $90 order, but you may decide to also get the Hippo dies for another $90. The Leaves of Holly bundle is exactly $90, as is the Sweet Candy Canes bundle. A lot of the other Christmas bundles are less than that, but we always need Tombow multi-purpose liquid glue or Dimensionals don't we?

If you're still not sure how SALE-A-Bration works, ask and I'll try to help you out. These items are available while stock lasts until August 31st.
