Colour Creations - Week #26 - Highland Heather

The participants in AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop are all Stampin' Up! demonstrators and members of Art With Heart. We love to Blog Hop sharing all the Stampin' Up! Colours. This week we are sharing Highland Heather.

Needing some thank you cards in a hurry meant mass-production was the way to go. Strips of card in Polished Pink, Parakeet Party & Highland Heather were texture embossed. Unfortunately, I discovered that die cutting squares after texture embossing does tend to flatten it out. For this reason, I re-did the Highland Heather squares as that was the important colour, and message.

The multi-lingual texture embossing folders are favourites of mine. This one is Thanks from the Thanks & Hello duo. Stylish Shapes dies are another basic item you must have.

Flowering Tulips was my chosen stamp set this week and this is my time-saving tip. If you are stamping flowers in the same colour, mount them on the same block to stamp at the one time.

If you position them far enough apart, you can also die cut them at the same time. I stamp and die cut multiples to create bouquets, or single blooms like here.

Next Art With Heart team member is our lovely, talented Tina Gillespie

If at any time you find a broken link, please head to the blog of this week’s host of the AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop, Cathy Proctor, and she will have the list of all participants.

Colour Creations Week 4 Sweet Sorbet

The participants in Colour Creations are all Stampin' Up! demonstrators and members of Art With Heart. We love to Blog Hop sharing all the Stampin' Up! Colours. This is week four of this round of Colour Creations Blog Hop, and the In Color featured this week is Sweet Sorbet.

As I was ironing the other day, I was inspired to try to recreate my t-shirt as a One-Sheet-Wonder. It had occurred to me that Painted Poppies stamp set was quite close the the featured flower, and Hello Beautiful stamp set has squiggles and blobs which would be useful.

I didn't cover the whole sheet of card, thinking some white spaces might be useful, but I'm not sure if they really were. I was able to make six cards from that stamped sheet though, and that made me happy.

This card with three segments is a fun one to make with designer series paper that co-ordinates or like this with contrasting colours and texture. Sweet Sorbet was embossed with Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder and Old Olive with the multi-lingual 'Thanks' embossing folder. It comes paired with another with 'Hello' in many languages.

You take 3 card-front-sized pieces of card, and slice all three at the same time so that the pieces are inter-changeable. No special measurements are needed, so long as you have 3 that match each other.

For the other 3 cards, there is a regular card front, mounted on a black matt, another with the card front sliced into 4 pieces and lastly, a slimline card with Postage Card Punch pieces lined up along the centre.

Next talented team member is Andrea

Colour Creations - Blackberry Bliss

Our feature colour this week is Blackberry Bliss, a wonderful, rich, berry shade. I'm sure there will be lots of inspiration shared on this blog hop, so make sure you spend the time checking them out.

Blackberry Bliss contrasts with the soft greens of the succulents, allowing them to be the star. I have a bunch of succulents growing in a silver pail too.

I chose this pair of embossing folders to use for my overseas penpals mail. One is in France, another in Quebec, so 'Bonjour' is placed strategically 'front & centre'.

A little stamping on the inside to finish the card off.

Card 2 was made for my son's recent birthday. Blackberry Bliss was well-suited to this DSP, probably my favourite piece from Beauty Of The Earth Designer Series Paper.

Days To Remember may be meant more for memory keeping,
but I had some fun making cards with it for my June birthdays. Once the stamps are all lined up correctly on the Stamparatus, you might as well make a few.

The tag, which slips in and out of the pocket behind the calendar, has a die cut 'Happy Birthday' from  Birthday Chick dies.

Two days ago I shared a card for my D-I-L using Days To Remember. Pop back to see my feminine Mint Macaron version.

Next talented team member is my friend Andrea Sargent in South Australia
