Colour Creations- Sahara Sand

The participants in Colour Creations are all Stampin' Up! demonstrators and members of Art With Heart. This is week 41 of Colour Creations Blog Hop, and as we use the colours alphabetically, we are up to Sahara Sand.

Sahara Sand is a neutral, so perfect for a base card. I managed to create 2 cards this week - one male, one female.

The match between this wood grain paper from In Good Taste DSP and Sahara Sand is just perfect. That made a wonderful backdrop to the pair of caps die cut using the Hats Off bundle.

The variations for decorating the caps are numerous and combine stamping and die cutting.

This fold is a book end card. So easy, but with that little point of difference. Just cut a tent card, measure 3cm from the centre score, and score again. Cut the DSP .5cm smaller than that so for my cards thats 2.5cm x 10 cm & 11cm x 10cm.

For my second card, I was experimenting with the emboss resist technique.

Flowing Flowers is a lovely new stamp set in the January to June mini catalogue. It has lovely loose blooms and some really good sentiments, like this one "sending a card instead of a text".

The flower stamp was inked with Versamark before it was heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Calypso Coral was applied over the embossing with a blending brush and a circular motion.

I wonder what the lovely Diane has to share using Sahara Sand this week?

If at any time you find a broken link, please head to the blog of this week’s host of the AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop, Cathy Proctor, and she will have the list of all participants.

Hats Off Son

I'm getting a little tired of lockdowns and Covid getting in the way of being with family, as I'm sure so many of you are too. Number 3 son turned 39 recently and as he is a great wearer of caps, Hats Off was the obvious choice for his card.
I've had to hold off sharing his card until he actually had received it and his present!

For the sentiments I have done a bit of 'cut & paste' with a retired stamp, punch as well as current product. I always keep favourites like that, to make my family cards. Don't forget - Beauty of the Earth DSP is one of the papers at 15% off until midnight 2 August.

Your orders are very much appreciated, no matter how small or big, every little bit helps me to meet my minimums, and keep on creating. Hopefully you are inspired by some of the projects I share, and want to make your own.

Colour Creations - Blackberry Bliss

Our feature colour this week is Blackberry Bliss, a wonderful, rich, berry shade. I'm sure there will be lots of inspiration shared on this blog hop, so make sure you spend the time checking them out.

Blackberry Bliss contrasts with the soft greens of the succulents, allowing them to be the star. I have a bunch of succulents growing in a silver pail too.

I chose this pair of embossing folders to use for my overseas penpals mail. One is in France, another in Quebec, so 'Bonjour' is placed strategically 'front & centre'.

A little stamping on the inside to finish the card off.

Card 2 was made for my son's recent birthday. Blackberry Bliss was well-suited to this DSP, probably my favourite piece from Beauty Of The Earth Designer Series Paper.

Days To Remember may be meant more for memory keeping,
but I had some fun making cards with it for my June birthdays. Once the stamps are all lined up correctly on the Stamparatus, you might as well make a few.

The tag, which slips in and out of the pocket behind the calendar, has a die cut 'Happy Birthday' from  Birthday Chick dies.

Two days ago I shared a card for my D-I-L using Days To Remember. Pop back to see my feminine Mint Macaron version.

Next talented team member is my friend Andrea Sargent in South Australia
