AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 6 - Basic Beige

Contributors to this blog hop are all members of Claire Daly's Art With Heart group. We love chatting & crafting together. 

We are already up to week 6 as we work our way through the colours. This week we are sharing creations using Basic Beige, a lovely new neutral in a lighter tone than Crumb Cake and just as 'user friendly'.

I have already opened my second pack of Basic Beige, which just does not usually happen so early on, but I really have made a lot of cards with it, including 32 swaps which are heading away with me on Friday when I fly to Canada. More about that later.

Card 1: Country Flowers, Wildflowers designs dies, Latte Love dies

For card #1 this week I used the lovely Country Flowers bundle and included two small cups from Latte Love, an Online Exclusive. The gorgeous lacy label is from a new bundle too, Wildflower Designs. I stamped floral images in Basic Beige on the DSP too.

Card 2: Online Exclusive Magnolia Mood

When I stamped Magnolia Mood a few weeks back for my Petunia Pop card I stamped an extra image which I decided to use this week. I love the contrast of beige and white, and I'm sure this card would also suit an occasion such as a wedding.

The silver-edged ribbon is the finishing touch.

As I mentioned, on Friday I head to Canada with my friend and fellow Stampin' Up! demo Kathryn. We are staying in Vancouver first before catching a ferry to Vancouver Island for a few days, and then another ferry to Seattle to board Quantum of the Seas for a 7-day Alaskan cruise. It is the Great American Crafting Cruise and 32 crafters are sailing together to craft on sea days. I haven't ever sailed on a ship this big, so I'm glad I'm with friends, even if they are mostly new friends!

CTC#370 - CASE the Colours of Flowers & Frames

 

CASE-ing The Catty Crew are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from Australia & New Zealand who take inspiration weekly from the catalogues. The catalogues are a fantastic resource, and we love to inspire you to seek inspiration there too. 

There are so many colours included in this paper so I punched circles and glued them to a strip of white, just so I could visualise what I was working with. You can see so many of our greens plus Early Espresso, Pumpkin Pie, Petal Pink and Lost Lagoon at the other end.

A really pleasing combination, and I had added the paper to my order.

I began using paper in Lost Lagoon from A Little Latte DSP and stamped the mug from Latte Love in Pretty Peacock before colouring with blends in Lost Lagoon.

This sketch is one of those featured on page 22 of the catalogue and it is also one I have used frequently over the years. I based both of these cards on this sketch.

The Flowers & Frames paper includes some patterned rectangles measuring 9.5cm X 13cm which isn't quite right for an A4 card front. With a little trim though, it made a perfect strip front for the second card.

This is another sketch I use frequently, especially because Stampin' Up! papers coordinate so beautifully. Sign up for my newsletter because I am sharing the PDF for this card later in May. Like me, you may just end up making this one over and over again!

The Flowers & Frames pack includes laser cut preprinted ephemera which makes it so easy to decorate your creations.

Country Birdhouse supplied all the sentiments for these four cards, I really like the font as well as the wishes expressed.

For the inside, a strip of paper, a stamped sentiment, and one even has an ephemera corner added. These cards were an absolute joy to work on!

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 48- Starry Sky

 

Contributors to this blog hop are all members of Claire Daly's Art With Heart group. We love chatting, crafting and getting together in person. This week we are focusing on Starry Sky, one of our retiring InColors. On my card, it has been supported by Tahitian Tide and Sweet Sorbet, another two of the five. Ink pads and ink refills went on special yesterday, I wonder if there are any left?

Trusty Tools has paintbrushes in stamps and dies, so that was easy. I was able to stamp the Sweet Sorbet onto the handles, and paint onto the bristles.

Latte Love has the coffee splatters which could easily translate to paint splatters and I used a one-inch Starry Sky ink spot from a kit to swipe across the card like a bold brushstroke.

The whole of the 'awesome' stamp was inked and stamped before trimming to the word I wanted, and all the letters of the alphabet were cut in Tahitian Tide with the Mini Alphabet die. Self-adhesive paper was added to the back of the card stock first which really helps when it comes to attaching letters.

Mug of Latte

Latte Love is brand new this week and can be viewed in the Online Exclusives. A large selection of new products were added on Tuesday this week. Although I am not a coffee drinker, I do love a big mug of tea! These cards were made for a class, I do like to give my ladies options.

Pecan Pie was used for the card base on this version along with a couple of strips of A Little Latte DSP surrounding a Very Vanilla panel.

One mug was fussy cut, while the one in front was stamped, die cut and coloured with Stampin' Blends.

Believe it or not, the brown strip on the left card is just the reverse of the Lost Lagoon stripe on the right-hand card.

A Little Latte Love

Tomorrow (5th March) there will be HUGE additions to the Stampin' Up! Online Exclusives.

If you only wanted to invest in some designer series paper, here is a sample of what you can do with A Little Latte DSP and card, an embossing folder from your stash and a sentiment stamp. This greeting from Rustic Crate seemed appropriate to me, what do you think?

It was quite easy to fussy-cut around the coffee cup image although the dies do have an outline image for this included.

Strictly speaking, I have cheated a little by stamping some splatters from the Latte Love stamp set, I had momentarily forgotten that I added the stamping. However, a number of retired stamp sets have a splatter stamp if you weren't planning to buy the stamp set.
