Best Day

A second card, also using Best Day but a different stamp was used to make another version using a different colour combination.

After stamping the image in black Memento ink, I used blending brushes to apply colour.

The image was cut using Stitched Rectangles dies. and layered skewed over a Poppy Parade rectangle of a similar size.

The party streamer stamp was used on the inside of the card, in the background of the focal piece and heat embossed in white on the card base.

Spotlight On Blessings Of Home

Blessings Of Home is a stamp set that I love to colour, so I thought I would share the spotlighting technique, in case you don't love colouring as much as I do, but a small portion of an image is achievable.

For the first example I have stamped the image onto a white card front, before die cutting from the centre with a Stitched Rectangle die. All the area inside the rectangle is coloured, and it has been raised on dimensionals before placing it back. A few die cut sprigs of foliage add a nice touch.

If you watched my Facebook Live this morning you will know that Card 2 below did not turn out as well as I'd hoped. I still felt very dissatisfied with it after finishing filming, so I made some changes.

After removing the sentiment and the ribbon, there was a lot of glue to get rid of. I did draw a black line using the die as a guide, and I took another sentiment from my table and trimmed it. I prefer this softer look, do you?

Colouring card 3 with Stampin' Blends was a joy. The sentiment was very simply stamped direct to the card, and the only embellishment is a piece of white twine tied in a bow.

I wonder if you have a favourite out of card 1, 2 or 3? I recommend that you add Blessings of Home bundle to your craft room, with lovely flowers and useful sentiments, its a winner.

CTC#361 CASE An Animal Card

The CASE-ing The Catty Crew are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from Australia & New Zealand who take inspiration weekly from the catalogues. The catalogues are a fantastic resource and we love to inspire you to seek inspiration there too.

Our challenge this week is to CASE an animal card from either catalogue. I had a couple in mind, and then I spied a mouse card on page 90 of the mini catalogue. Mischievous Mice is a host set, which you can become eligible to add on, if your order reaches $250. You can either spend this yourself, gather friends for a stamping event with you as the host, or pass around a catalogue to see if anyone is after crafting supplies.

The main points I've CASEd are the two ticket die cut pieces, from Sports Events dies, the die cut Stitched Rectangle, and a stamped image at the bottom of the plain ticket, with a sentiment above.

Flowing Flowers, on page 36 of the J-J mini catalogue, was a must-have when I saw it. The soft, water-coloured flowers, the mix of fonts on the sentiments, and the messages in the sentiments are all very appealing.

The colour choice was decided by the piece of DSP, but I can imagine it in all shades, pastel and bold.

The simplest of stamping to finish the inside of the card.

We love having you join in our challenges. Ask to join our Facebook group, and then add a picture of your CASE, and let us know which card or project you've CASE-d. No blog required, no special qualifications.

Catching Butterflies Gift

I had a request recently for three sets of notecards as gifts, after my customer had seen a larger, similar greeting card on Instagram. You can see the original here.

Notecards are a little smaller, perfect for slipping into a gift bag, but also can be mailed too.

The stamping is on a Stitched Rectangle panel, one which fits inside the Stitched So Sweetly scalloped rectangle after the colours are blended with a blending brush.

Notecards fit the mini Paper Pumpkin boxes, I just had to work out a way to cut a window in it so the cards could be viewed easily.

It gives me a lot of satisfaction meeting my clients expectations, and I think I succeeded, judging by the smile and many thanks!

Catching Butterflies is a FREE SALE-A-Bration stamp set, which can be added to your $90 order until March 31.(Extended in Australia & New Zealand after shipping delays earlier in the year).

If you'd like to make cards similar to this, and need more information, feel free to get in touch. If you live anywhere in Australia, you may order from my online store (and I'll do a happy dance)! I hold classes in my home - South Morang, Victoria and can do at Phillip Island Victoria as well.

Colour Creations - Pool Party

The participants in Colour Creations are all Stampin' Up! demonstrators and members of Art With Heart. This is week 36 of Colour Creations Blog Hop, and as we use the colours alphabetically, we are up to Pool Party.

Pool Party is a member of the Subtles group of colours, a soft soothing pale aqua.

The similarity to a sky prompted the use of the new Rainbow of Happiness bundle.

Using the dies, four different rainbows were cut and assembled with the colours in different sequences.

The pieces were laid down roughly, before the adhesive strips were peeled away. A stitched rectangle was positioned to cut a rainbow in opposing corners.

I'd intentionally picked the rectangle which fitted in the Scalloped contour die the best, and it was a perfect size for this card front.

The sunny sentiment was also die cut using a Stitched Rectangle and those little clouds are included in the Rainbow bundle. You can also order a cloud punch to add more to this set of stamps. It is large enough to stamp a sentiment onto, and also punches clouds out of the SAB paper Sunshine & Rainbows. Although I haven't used it here, it will be a useful addition to your punches,

Now it's time to hop on over to my lovely friend Christine

If at any time you find a broken link, please head to the blog of this week’s host of the AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop, CathyProctor, and she will have the list of all participants.

Colour Creations - Flirty Flamingo

Flirty Flamingo is our colour for week 17, and what a delightful colour it is, sitting happily in the brights family. I love a bright colour!!! The participants in Colour Creations are all Stampin' Up! demonstrators and members of Art With Heart.

Creating with Quiet Meadow, Nature's Harvest and Flirty Flamingo was such an enjoyable session.

Echinacea, more commonly called cone flower are a lovely pink, so I saw no problem with colouring them with Flirty Flamingo.

This is the simplest of my cards this week, although there is quite a bit of stamping & colouring.

The card is the basic measurement (10cm by 14.5cm) with an 9.5cm by 14cm layer and the white stamped piece another .5cm smaller.

The second card is similar, with some extra embellishment, mostly from the Harvest Meadow Suite. The cork paper is fabulous with a very authentic look and feel, but so easy to cut. Being economical, I cut the centre from this piece and used it on the 3rd card! Brushed metallic adhesive backed dots are with the suite too, all on page 54-56 of the mini catalogue.

For the 3rd card, the flowers have been die cut, and another die from the set was cut using the Be Dazzling SALE-A-Bration paper. It has run out in the US market, I wonder if we'll have enough supplies to last until September 30, when SAB ends.

The Stitched Rectangle dies were used to cut most of the card, and Stitched So Sweetly has the scalloped and stitched rectangles for the Flirty Flamingo piece. So pretty!

A little linen thread bow and some Artistry sequins are the final touches on this particular card.
