Colour Creations - Flirty Flamingo

Flirty Flamingo is our colour for week 17, and what a delightful colour it is, sitting happily in the brights family. I love a bright colour!!! The participants in Colour Creations are all Stampin' Up! demonstrators and members of Art With Heart.

Creating with Quiet Meadow, Nature's Harvest and Flirty Flamingo was such an enjoyable session.

Echinacea, more commonly called cone flower are a lovely pink, so I saw no problem with colouring them with Flirty Flamingo.

This is the simplest of my cards this week, although there is quite a bit of stamping & colouring.

The card is the basic measurement (10cm by 14.5cm) with an 9.5cm by 14cm layer and the white stamped piece another .5cm smaller.

The second card is similar, with some extra embellishment, mostly from the Harvest Meadow Suite. The cork paper is fabulous with a very authentic look and feel, but so easy to cut. Being economical, I cut the centre from this piece and used it on the 3rd card! Brushed metallic adhesive backed dots are with the suite too, all on page 54-56 of the mini catalogue.

For the 3rd card, the flowers have been die cut, and another die from the set was cut using the Be Dazzling SALE-A-Bration paper. It has run out in the US market, I wonder if we'll have enough supplies to last until September 30, when SAB ends.

The Stitched Rectangle dies were used to cut most of the card, and Stitched So Sweetly has the scalloped and stitched rectangles for the Flirty Flamingo piece. So pretty!

A little linen thread bow and some Artistry sequins are the final touches on this particular card.

Next talented crafter on this hop is Caroline

  1. Rachel, these cards are gorgeous and they just kept getting better and better as read on through your post! Love the colour choices and the cork paper is the perfect addition!

  2. I really like the look of the cork paper with Flirty Flamingo, Rachel ... and this pink is beautiful for flowers, so good choice! Great job, getting three cards made!

  3. Three stunning cards, Rachel! I think my favourite is card 2, but it's so hard to chose as they are all so lovely!

  4. All very pretty cards Rachel using these stamp sets. The cork DSP works so well with Flirty Flamingo. I especially like your second card with the Brushed metallic dots and glittery trim.

  5. Your three cards are fabulous, I love how you were thrifty with the cork paper.

  6. Really pretty cards Rachel! I'm looking forward to having a play with this bundle and you have given me lots of inspiration.

  7. Your cards are all so pretty. I love the collage stamping on the first two, and the addition of the cork paper is fabulous.

  8. Oh wow Rachel what a lovely change of colour for the flowers. Three lovely cards Rachel but my favourite is the one with the Cork paper background

  9. A lovely set of cards Rachel. Great colour combo and 3 different looks.

  10. Wow Rachel I would never have thought to use Flirty Flamingo with that stamp set, yet it works absolutely beautifully. All three cards are gorgeous but if I had to choose it would be number three as I love the pop of Soft Sea Foam behind the cork paper.
