Quick & Easy 60th Birthday Card

Recently I arrived back from holidaying with one girlfriend, in time to attend the 60th birthday party of another, the next day at lunch time. The gift was chosen but no card was made - oh dear!

The creating was made easier by using  Abstract Beauty cards & envelopes. Half the job is already done when you use a product like that. The paper is from the Abstract Beauty 4" x 6" specialty designer series paper, and I hadn't realised what a close match it was for the drink bottle and lunch bag until it was made.

Let's Go Fly A Kite

Kite Delight is sure to be a winner, especially for kids cards. There are a number of different designs to choose and these shapes are so easy to cut out, no dies are needed.

On Wednesday night I shared a Pacific Point sample and tonight it's mainly Bumblebee and Poppy Parade. I was away at the time and had few supplies, so I relied on the Hey Sports Fan 12" X 12" DSP to decide the colour palette.

Cutting the sentiments up to create different ones can be a bit of fun, and I debated whether to go with "3" wishes or "BIG" wishes. The latter won!

The Playful Alphabet dies are raised on adhesive sheets, the one that is like a large dimensional. Can't remember its proper name at the moment. Are you doing any crafting this weekend?

If you'd like to make cards similar to this, and need more information, feel free to get in touch. If you live anywhere in Australia, you may order from my online store (and I'll do a happy dance)! I hold classes in my home - South Morang, Victoria and can do at Phillip Island Victoria as well.

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Old Olive

The participants in Colour Creations are all Stampin' Up! demonstrators and members of Art With Heart. This is week 32 of Colour Creations Blog Hop, and as we use the colours alphabetically, we are up to Old Olive. This colour is an oldie, but a goodie, and I've teamed it with Shaded Spruce, Bumblebee and Gold.

I ordered the Rainbow Of Happiness Bundle to make all sorts of cards, but first up, this one. Please tell me, is this masculine enough for my 14 year old grandson?

Tip of the Day: Adhesive sheets on the back of the card stock work like magic to make adhering rainbow strips a painless crafting experience. They are wide enough to use Tombow multi purpose liquid glue, but I found it a tad messy, and adhesive sheets are heaps better on the back of numerals too.

Biggest Wish comes in so handy for big, bold greetings, as do the Playful Alphabet dies. This is such an easy fold to make a special card, a Twisted Easel Card - it is basically a standard card, with a fold diagonally, and a rectangular card front adhered.

Next lovely Art With Heart team member is Theresa

If at any time you find a broken link, please head to the blog of this week’s host of the AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop, CathyProctor, and she will have the list of all participants.

Paper Piecing Patterned Paper

My Facebook Live on paper piecing incorporated so many of my favourite things - pattern paper (DSP in Stampin' Up lingo), dies, layers etc..

It was a huge coincidence that I used so many dies which don't have to be paired with a stamp set.

Sunflowers always bring a smile to my face, even the paper kind! This was the second card I shared, and it is such an easy one really, as there is no fussy cutting. The only stamping on this card is the sentiment and 2 leaves, which could be replaced with die cuts, if you weren't wanting the stamps. This Sunflower die #152704 normally retails for $57 but with 20% off 16th-18th November, it's $45.60.

There is a die to cut the DSP in the background, and then I used Adhesive sheet on the back of the Bumblebee cardstock, to make adhering less messy. Those two pieces just match together beautifully. The designer series paper used on the project is Harvest Meadow, #156494 page 55 of the mini catalogue.

Despite there being no dies at all for the Beautiful Moments stamp, it is not a difficult one to paper piece. This image is the trickiest, and there are two other images where there are little girls dresses to cut out. It's just like playing with paper dolls - or do you have to be old like me to remember that?

Teepee Birthday Card

When it is my grand-daughter's birthday, I try to make a special effort. She and her 2 brothers really appreciate the cards Gran makes them, so I try out the fancy-folds for these kids. The tee pee card is a very easy fold to make, and you can make this size, requiring a special envelope, or make it a little smaller to fit one of the regular Stampin' Up! envelopes.

She's our only grand-daughter, out of 7, so of course she's the best (girl)!!!

Hey Girlfriend has 3 images of girls (or dolls as the kids saw them) which is ideal for a card with three sides. The dog and cat are separate stamps so I just had to find a spot to place them.

I really love the sentiments in the stamp set From All Of Us, the font is so playful, plus it had the 2nd great phrase which I wanted for the inside.

There are no dies for this stamp set, and I didn't trust that I would make a nice enough job of fussy-cutting them out, so went with the stitched ovals.

Eleven year-old grandson comments, "You've really outdone yourself this time Gran!"
