Framed Floral

I felt enthused to create today (that just means I didn't really want to do housework!!!) and turned to a couple of favourite inspiration spots.
Freshly Made Sketches have a lovely sketch, as usual and I could see that I might get to use my Fun Frames Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
After I'd chosen the strip of DSP from my pile of now-retired patterned papers, I decided it wouldn't be too hard to conform to Colour Me! colour challenge of Night of Navy, Real Red and a neutral.

Pictogram Punches is a favourite stamp set of mine, and it might just be the cute little Itty Bitty Accents Punches that go with it, but I also really like the vase, and it fitted beautifully inside the frame. The sentiment is from the recently retired From The Herd, cut with a banner from the Gift Card Envelope & Trims Thinlet. Quite quick and easy to put together once the decisions were made.

Cheers

P.S. Thanks to Katie at Colour Me!  for picking this card for a Colour Connoisseur.

Stampin' Up! Weekly Deals For 18th February, 2015

Weekly Deals by Stampin' Up!

I really wanted to share with you the Weekly Deals offered by Stampin' Up! this week, especially if you are keen to try out the little Gift Card Envelope & Trims Thinlet. I think that might be my most favourite item this week, and I use it a LOT! The long banner is fabulous for greetings, especially the Crazy About You stamp set and I've popped gift card envelopes into several birthday cards lately, just to hold a little cash.

My Christmas Version

Gift Card Envelope & Trims Thinlits Dies by Stampin' Up!
$55.95/ $41.96
There are several punches worth having on special, and the Arrows Textured Embossing Folder that's great for masculine cards, though I've used it on cards for women too. Is it time to stock up on Gold or silver foil? It always adds such a rich feeling to all your creations. I'd also like to get some of the Typeset Specialty Designer Paper while it is on special too.

If you are wanting a few things (and because I want just a few too) you can contact me by email  or mobile 0417 500 681,with your order and payment details before 7pm Monday night, and I will pay your shipping this time. (You'll need to pick it up from my house in South Morang or work in Thomastown, Victoria though.)

If you just can't pick up your order, why don't you use a hostess code as you submit your order, with low cost shipping starting at $5.95. If you use this code for your online order, I will post you a small gift.

This month's Hostess Code is B3M6SRH7

Many Merry Stars

I promise you this will be my very last Christmas-related post this year! I had some very grand plans for table decorations, but I ran out of time unfortunately, and after all, it is probably more important to get the food organised.

I did make some gift card holders using the Gift Card Envelope & Trims Thinlets Dies. The design has been very heavily influenced by this card by Teneale Williams, another Australian demonstrator who is on the Stampin' Up! International Artisan Design Team. I love the detail Teneale uses on her cards, but I am not so good about all of that. Holiday Invitation provided the Be Merry sentiment, cut with the long banner in the Gift Envelope set. The star is from Many Merry Stars stamp set that came out in a supplementary leaflet, and doesn't appear to be carrying over, so if you like this clean star which co-ordinates with the Star Framelits, best you order in the next week. (Photopolymer 138105 $27.95). The Santa and sleigh silhouette comes from Holiday Home, another great photopolymer stamp set, also not carrying over. 5th January is the last day to order these items. Under the Tree Specialty Designer Series Paper has been used on the belly band holding the envelope closed, and that is over on Year End Closeout sale at $15.39, down from $21.95. it is actually more like a card, not paper and would be perfect for making gift boxes. You should be able to click on the picture below to get taken directly to that item in my online shop, all available only till 5th January 2015.

I was rushing to get these made the night before our family gathering, so there are no little buttons or linen thread on mine, but a couple of the mini staples did the job and are totally appropriate for a bunch of boys. I don't often get compliments on my crafty projects from my sons, but apparently this was pretty good. Or maybe it was what was inside?

And, a really big statement from the eldest (which I may happen to agree with too) - "This was the best Christmas ever!"

Hope yours was just as jolly,
Rachel

I have a general card class on Wednesday 14th January at 1pm and another Project Class (page 16 of the Occasions Catalogue) on Tuesday 20th January - check for picture on the CLASS page, or contact me.
