Card-In-A-Box Birthday Fishies

Today was my husband's birthday, the first birthday in 41 years we have been apart!
My eldest and his wife had to fly interstate for a wedding, and I was in charge of their brood. Unfortunately, there's a couple of hours driving between homes, and it was important for the boys to continue attending school and kindergarten, so Pop has to wait till the weekend for birthday kisses!!!

I left his gift and card by the bed. I wonder if he waited till his birthday to open them? I put together a card-in-a-box card featuring By The Tide fish, shell and seaweed. The other stamp sets have retired now, but I do love Just Sayin' and Lovely Labels.

Cheers

Gorgeous Banner Blast - SUO Challenges #91

Banners have been becoming more and more fashionable over the last 12 months (or more!) and now you can use a punch to cut teeny, tiny banners. Of course there are also the NEW Framelit dies to cut six different sizes, and naturally, matching stamps to co-ordinate with all of them too.Perfect Pennants matches the Banner Framelits.
I have a stamping class tomorrow night, and this is a card they may choose to make, using Gorgeous Grunge stamp set, Lovely Labels stamp set and the matching Artisan Label Punch. The banners were punched with the Banner Punch available during SALE-A-BRATION. It goes with Banner Blast stamp set, another SALE-A-BRATION freebie.

SUO Challenges was my inspiration point, there will be plenty to inspire you too!Colours used here are Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, Real Red, Summer Starfruit and Tangerine Tango.

Happy stamping

Welcome Baby PP151

It's always such a happy occasion when a new baby arrives safely, don't you think?
In some ways that makes New Arrival cards the easiest cards to make.

I decided to base my card on the sketch by Nance at The Paper Players. My card is made using Soft Sky card, a colour that is NEW to me and returning to the subtles range, and I can understand why.
I used a greeting from Lovely Labels stamped in Marina Mist and chose the sweet little kitten from Storybook Friends which I water-colored using the Aquapainter. I bought this stamp set after receiving the cutest swap made with it at the South Pacific Stampin' Up! Convention in May, I love all those sweet little animals, so cute!

The {Welcome Baby, sweetness unlimited} is a retired single stamp from a few years ago that I retain in my stash, just because.... and it is stamped onto a half doily, the largest one to be cut from Perfect Pennant Bigz L. I usually have a "cutting session" from time to time with my Big Shot so I can keep some on hand.

The strip of  Storybook Friends DSP helps tie the colours together, and I added a strip of Marina Mist Taffeta ribbon too. Now I'm all ready for the next baby boy that arrives!

I'm travelling to spend time with and babysit two grandsons and their little sister on Saturday - lovely
You have a lovely weekend too,
Rachel
