You Make Me Happy, Logan

Here is the second card I've made with the Pop 'n Cuts system. Again, it is for a very special family member, Logan, who headed to hospital the same day his cousin left there. Logan had to have his tonsils removed, as he is always unwell and has no appetite. He appeared to come through with flying colours, judging by the upbeat conversation I had with him, but there are bound to be some low points too, over the coming days.

I made him this bright little card to cheer him up. He'll be able to wiggle it about until it comes apart, I guess. Sadly, Logan prefers diggers, but this police car will have to do I'm afraid. I layered up 2 Deco Label Framelits for the inside this time and stamped with the SALE-A-BRATION stamp set See Ya Later.
The sun is simply cut with a Starburst Framelit in the appropriate size and then various DSP in shades of yellow were punched with the Banner Punch - which has been included in the new catalogue!!!!!! There are a couple of stamp sets which co-ordinate too.

The police car comes from a stamp set called You're My Hero which also has a fire engine and an ambulance, but it too is retiring. That will mean there are no current vehicle stamps for small boys, so sad.

I colour all these images with Stampin' Write Markers to get the variety of shades. Looks cheerful, doesn't it?

The white cloud is a scalloped oval, daubed with Smokey Slate and the Smokey Slate clouds are punched using the Cupcake Builder Punch. That's a useful punch for a few different things. The cupcake piece makes a nice handbag and the clouds/icing/ice cream probably have more uses too! I noticed at least one new stamp set that will use this punch and the current one, Create a Cupcake, is retiring.

I cut the outside of this card using a long-retired DSP with red stars, and I haven't decorated that yet, but I'm thinking a banner with his name too.

Logan's parents have no qualms about their son's image being "out there' so meet Logan, 4 and a bit, prior to surgery.

Hope you enjoyed my post, thanks for dropping by,

Rachel

See Ya Later Sale-A-Bration!

I thought it might be fun to share this card I made while on holiday this summer. When I go away, I take only a box of supplies, but there is an old sewing machine at the holiday house, so that is the time I sew on cards. I took my SALE-A-BRATION stamps, paper and the banner punch. I had also dry embossed card-front size pieces of card and taken them with me, and this one in Tangerine Tango has been embossed with the Sale-a-bration freebie Decorative Dots Embossing Folder. It really stretches my creativity having limited supplies, but gets some good samples made to show my customers.

CAS on Sunday has a challenge to use stitching, Faux or Real.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

This stamp set is called See Ya Later and is only available (free) with your $90 order, until 11.30pm tonight.(Australia) The Banner Punch has a matching stamp set, Banner Blast, and a couple of those banners have been stamped with the outline stamp from that set. Even the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper was a freebie, it's just the best time of the year to put in a big order, because you still get hostess dollars to spend once you've spent $300 and 3 SALE-A-BRATION items too. I stock up on card, Dimensionals and Snail refills. So don't forget,  SALE-A-BRATION ends in 5 hours in Australia, hurry!

Cheerio for now,
Rachel

Kaleidoscope Birthday RS #97

Oh boy! Is it ever hot here in Melbourne at the moment. It reached 43 degrees celsius today, with the same temperature predicted for the next three days. I'm very glad to be on holiday at the moment, as our school is without any air conditioning.

I haven't done too much, but I did slip into my craft room this evening and browsed through the challenges, and then I spied this sketch at Retro Sketches. I really mixed things up for this simple birthday card, taking a stamp from Starburst Sayings (and its matching Framelit), a stamp from See Ya Later (that's a Sale-a-bration stamp set) and the paper is Kaleidoscope available in the new seasonal catalogue, which is on sale to you from January 28th. I used the Label Framelit from Chalk Talk too, so it really is a bit of this and a bit of that.

Thanks for visiting my blog, I'd love to read your comment
