Many Merry Stars

I promise you this will be my very last Christmas-related post this year! I had some very grand plans for table decorations, but I ran out of time unfortunately, and after all, it is probably more important to get the food organised.

I did make some gift card holders using the Gift Card Envelope & Trims Thinlets Dies. The design has been very heavily influenced by this card by Teneale Williams, another Australian demonstrator who is on the Stampin' Up! International Artisan Design Team. I love the detail Teneale uses on her cards, but I am not so good about all of that. Holiday Invitation provided the Be Merry sentiment, cut with the long banner in the Gift Envelope set. The star is from Many Merry Stars stamp set that came out in a supplementary leaflet, and doesn't appear to be carrying over, so if you like this clean star which co-ordinates with the Star Framelits, best you order in the next week. (Photopolymer 138105 $27.95). The Santa and sleigh silhouette comes from Holiday Home, another great photopolymer stamp set, also not carrying over. 5th January is the last day to order these items. Under the Tree Specialty Designer Series Paper has been used on the belly band holding the envelope closed, and that is over on Year End Closeout sale at $15.39, down from $21.95. it is actually more like a card, not paper and would be perfect for making gift boxes. You should be able to click on the picture below to get taken directly to that item in my online shop, all available only till 5th January 2015.

I was rushing to get these made the night before our family gathering, so there are no little buttons or linen thread on mine, but a couple of the mini staples did the job and are totally appropriate for a bunch of boys. I don't often get compliments on my crafty projects from my sons, but apparently this was pretty good. Or maybe it was what was inside?

And, a really big statement from the eldest (which I may happen to agree with too) - "This was the best Christmas ever!"

Hope yours was just as jolly,
Rachel

I have a general card class on Wednesday 14th January at 1pm and another Project Class (page 16 of the Occasions Catalogue) on Tuesday 20th January - check for picture on the CLASS page, or contact me.

Stampin' Up! Bright Christmas Cards

I'm sharing some Christmas Cards I made for a special order. My client knew exactly which colours she wanted for the different designs she'd chosen. I thought it would be very challenging and yet, once I made a start, they came together very easily.

It was based on this card , which I had cased (copied and shared) from the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalogue, way back in October. The stamp sets used were Many Merry Stars and Mingle All The Way. It is amazing how a change of colour scheme can alter the card so much.

Year-End Closeouts. Save on great products with up to 80% discounts!

Don't forget the great bargains to be had as Stampin' Up! holds its year-end closeout! It began today and items will sellout quickly. You can pop over and browse away to your hearts content 24/7. Just remember though, if you add items to your shopping basket, it only retains them for that session, there is no save-for-later feature in the online shop.

I do actually need to make a start on my own Christmas cards - maybe this weekend.

Cheers
Rachel

Mingle All The Way FMS#159

Many Merry Stars arrived in my hot, little hands this week, so it's getting a bit of a workout at the moment. Paired with Mingle All The Way and using the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, it all just came together beautifully.

It took two tries to find the Circle Framelit that suits the sentiment best - it's the fifth one from the centre and the Starburst Framelit to surround so perfectly is the third one from the centre. That makes the greeting rather large, but after all, the sentiment is really the most important part of the card, isn't it?

I really like this sketch, there are so many different ways to interpret it, and if you check out the gallery, on Freshly Made Sketches blog, you'll see what I mean. Those girls rock at sketches!!!

I have something else to share with you too. My downline came over on Friday for a little bit of stamping fun. She doesn't have Many Merry Stars yet, so was happily stamping away with it, when she decided that the elongated star from the stamp set would fit the tree punch, which she has, but I don't. Obviously she took some images home to play about with, and sure enough - a perfect fit!!

Have a great weekend, won't you?
Cheers,
Rachel

Happy Holiday Cheer CTC#13

Here we are back with another challenge in CASE-ing The Catty. Weren't the entries over the last fortnight for gift bags and boxes inspirational? I love to see what others do with the same supplies that I have. This week we are featuring Christmas cards. I've made my Christmas cards for years, even before I came to Stampin' Up!®. Originally, I only made them for a very select group of people I knew would appreciate them, but I never buy Christmas cards now, they're always handmade.
After an evening stroll with my husband, I came home full of inspiration to make this Christmas card.

Those who know me well, always expect a Christmas card in shades of blue, and I haven't decided yet what the design for the bulk card will be this year, but this one just might be in there with a shot!
There's a new Christmas supplement from Stampin' Up!® out now, and I received a shipment a few days ago, so I used Many Merry Stars instead of the Endless Wishes I'd been planning. Both are super-lovely stamp sets, but I wanted to share this one with you before it disappears. The items on this supplement will NOT be carried over, once they're gone, they're gone! Many Merry Stars is particularly adaptable as the little stars inside the larger outlines are all separate pieces, so you can use them together - or not, as you choose. I like the two large outlines for birthday cards too.
The colours I've used are Soft Sky, Blushing Bride, Blackberry Bliss and Wisteria Wonder.

Since the idea of this challenge is CASE-ing The Catty, I was CASE-ing this halloween card on page 46 of the Holiday Catalogue. I liked the way the leaves were layered quite close together toward the bottom of the white panel, gradually thinning out about half way up. I liked the tag they used, but substituted a banner, and I was really impressed with the panel being all askew. It gave the card a novel look I thought, and I will use that again.

The tag is from a stamp set from the Holiday Catalogue, Mingle All The Way. Even though the Thanksgiving tag and the halloween tags aren't a lot of use to us in Australia, the three Christmas tags are so super special that they make up for it! You can see details in the links below and those links will take you directly to the item in my online store.

Cheers,
Rachel
