Fun Techniques With Swirly Frames

Swirly Frames has been in my stash for at least 2 years and I have used it a couple of times, but not nearly enough for such a useful stamp. You can see other cards here and here and here  mostly featuring the retired stamp 'Pretty Kitty'.

Often we use the Stamparatus to stamp 'in the round' to create a wreath, but using the circular frame as a guide can produce a very effective look, and it has a few extra touches from a new stamp set, available June 3rd. Tasteful Textures provided the big sentiment - just perfect inside this frame - and that patterned section across the bottom.

In Good Taste suite can be found on pages 122-124 of the new Stampin' Up! catalogue and it comprises Tasteful Touches stamp set, Tasteful labels dies, In Good Taste wooden elements, Tasteful Textures 3D embossing folder and In Good Taste designer series paper. This is a large pack of 40 sheets of double-sided quality patterned paper, and only 2 sheets of each design.

Swirly Frames had some help from another new release for this second card. Lovely You is on page 22, and is a mix of flowers and sprigs of greenery, and a number of sentiments in this delightful combo of fonts. The flowers, circles and soft, subtle pastels make this a sweet feminine card.

For my third card I changed to a square frame, and the same technique of colouring only where they overlap, but this time in bolder, masculine colours to match the angular look of this card. The lined 'happy birthday' is from another new stamp set - Many Mates. Every time you make one of these cards, they turn out slightly different, that's the charm of handmade.
