Spotlight On Butterflies

Recently I had the good fortune to holiday on a cruise ship, travelling around New Zealand with my husband. It was a wonderful trip, and once we touched land in New Zealand we were in a different port every day, with lots to see. However, there were 3 sea days at each end of the trip, so I packed some sewing and some colouring, to keep myself occupied. I pack my Stampin' Blends and the cut rectangles of paper into a full size stamp case, (video size) for ease of transporting. I actually place my sewing needs into a half stamp case too, the cases are so useful.

You may or may not recognise this paper as being Botanical Butterfly, one of the SALE-A-Bration picks you can claim once your order reaches $90. I am a Stampin' Up! addict - the main reason I joined up 8 years ago was the 20% discount - so it isn't all that difficult for me to 'earn' these SAB goodies. Maybe you would like to know more about joining to fund your own crafting, or make a part-time or full-time business. Click here for information.

It doesn't seem to matter what colour base you use when you make the cards up, as it picks up whichever colour is featured. I ended up with seven different cards - all similar but with different sentiments, or label. The art-piece was always mounted on black card, and the insert inside matches.

This is quite an easy project to work on, get in touch if you'd like more information. I use very standard measurements and often keep the standard sizes of card on hand, ready to use. I will post pictures with links to items in my shop at the end of the post.

With this spotlight technique, you choose an area to highlight. With some, I used a circular object to pencil a round area (or two) to colour, and I also just ruled a diagonal line across, and coloured the smaller side.

Placing an order with me and use the host code and there'll be a surprise in the mail for you the following month.
