Thinking of You SSC#46

This single stamp, Just Thinking (129940 Page 21) is a big favourite of mine because of its versatility. It will only be available in the 25th Anniversary mini Catalogue until June 30th and I hope to show more ways you can use this stamp in the next few weeks, so remember to check back. It co-ordinates perfectly with the Stampin' Up! Window Frames Collection Framelits which adds to it's versatility. I chose this sketch at Sunday Stamps to guide the design of my card, I find a sketch is always a great starting point, and this one is a beauty!

I've used card in Natural, Soft Suede and So Saffron and dyed three little Flowers (Flower Trim 126869 page 5) with More Mustard Reinker, to top off the banners cut from Tea For Two Designer Series Paper (129311 page 3). The Glimmer Brad is from the Subtles collection ( retired).

I've actually stamped onto canvas, Canvas Creations is a 12" X 12" piece of canvas that can be cut with a die on the Big Shot, or with scissors, on Page 21 of the Mini catalogue. It gives it a lovely "homespun" look too, but hard to see in the photo!

You can read the catalogue by clicking on the picture at right, or if you'd prefer to have one mailed to you (and you live in Australia) text or email me your postal address, and I will get one out to you as soon as possible. Phone 0417500681 or email me. Orders can be made at my online store(click on the shopping basket,it takes you to my SU demonstator page) by phone or email.

Love and Laughter for FreshlyMadeSketches#83

I've been playing with the stamp set Love and Laughter, to see if I can use the dress for other events. To do that, the words relating to marriage need to be covered over.
Intending to enter a card this week for Freshly Made Sketches,
I have tried to stick fairly closely to the placement suggested by Allisa for this card. With no greeting on for the moment, it could be for a graduation, debutante, 18th or 21st birthday.

I used Not Quite Navy ink and Shimmery White and Night of Navy  card with some silver Glimmer Paper. One tiny flower was punched from Cherry Cobbler card and some retired Cherry Cobbler Tulle gathered beautifully behind a Designer Builder Brad, for the job of hiding "Bride and Groom" and other wedding-type words.

Then just for fun, I kept on playing with this stamp set and Memorable Moments for the greeting to make an 18th birthday card in Shimmery white, basic Black and Cherry Cobbler and decorated up with Basic jewel rhinestones. I dry embossed the Basic Black with the Elegant Lines folder, which will retire at the end of the current catalogue. Unfortunately it is very difficult to see in my photograph but it does look extremely elegant!!!

It is a lovely sunny autumn day here in Melbourne, so I intend to spend some time in my garden. Thanks for visiting my blog, please leave a comment to let me know you've been here :-)
Happy stamping

Wedding card for FMS 382 and Dynamic Duos #49

I haven't used Basic Black and Basic Gray a great deal, but the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches combined with those challenge colors at  Dynamic Duos made me think - weddings.

My wedding cards are always very conservative (I think), not saying that it is a bad thing, a marriage is, after all, a very serious commitment, don't you think?

I didn't take up the dessert option of masculine in this case, but my card isn't particularly frilly and feminine either!
The first part of the greeting  was stamped onto Shimmery White card using one of a pair of stamps from the One In A Million stamp set.  I used two of the labels framelits to cut out that greeting for the top of the card. The other half of this pair, stamped on the inside reads,"Wishing You a Lifetime of Happiness". Some Basic Gray DSP from Twitterpated, which will most likely retire at the end of this catalogue, on June 30th is the main feature of the front of this card, trimmed with some Two-tone ribbon from the current mini catalogue, also finishing up on June 30th.

I stamped the flower from Creative Elements several times so I could fussy cut and layer them to place beside the label.

Thanks for checking out my blog, please leave a comment if you wish and happy stamping!

FMS381 & DD#48 Poppies

This is such a classic sketch from Cindy at Freshly Made Sketches this week, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to work in a classic fashion!! I had thought about doing a spotlight card, but today I decided to cut a window using one of the Floral Frame Framelits.

Next it was deciding on the colour scheme, and I went with the Bashful Blue and Pumpkin Pie at Dynamic Duos.

I used the lovely big stamp Pleasant Poppies with Black Stazon and coloured with a blender pen and Stampin' write markers in Pumpkin Pie and Crumb Cake for stems. A textured strip of Bashful Blue was adhered  for the contrast strip, and three little brads in Pumpkin Pie hold the greeting, from Sweet Essentials.

Back to school for me tomorrow morning, hope I remember to get up!
Cheers

Online Ordering

I'm just a little bit excited to let you know that I now have a Stampin' Up! page where you can find all the products in my store and shop online ANYTIME even in the middle of the night!!!

This is the address of my page http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/rachelpalmieri/
Stampin' Up! keep the page updated with all the special offers and promotions and you can browse current catalogue. I have listed my classes and will attempt to get this blog to also transfer across to that site.

I felt this was an important step since online ordering has been introduced because unless you nominate a demonstrator you do not get your hostess benefits when you spend $300, but by using my  business web page, we will both benefit. Remember, you get a bonus $50 to spend on product and can purchase hostess only products or anything from the catalogue to that value.
Don't forget that I can give you after sales service and advice also, if there are any problems with your purchase.

Stampin’ Up have also introduced My Digital Studio and there is a FREE 30 day trial available to download, to see if this is something you may be interested in using. You can find information about MDS on the business web page also. It can be used for designing page headers, invitations, photo books, scrapbook pages and so on. We weren't expecting to see either the online ordering or MDS until after Convention in May, but Stampin' Up! love to surprise us too!!!

Cheers,
Rachel

FMS#80 & PPA Color Challenge - Faith in Nature

CeleryBashfulMarina

I knew I had a lot to do today but it is amazing how you can fit a little bit of stamping between chores when it is a sketch as sweet as this one at Freshly Made Sketches and these lovely restful colours from PPA Color Challenge.

I decided to go with a 'Blast From the Past' this week, using a retired stamp set Faith in Nature, maybe you still have it in your stash too? I love a stamp with a subtle script and the three main images all fit the bill here. I chose the pear, and stamped it with Pear Pizzaz, one of the colours about to return to the Stampin Up! family of colour. To give some added interest, I rock 'n' rolled the edge into Marina Mist.

I'm sure I'm not the first person to discover this but I had a happy moment when I was punching some Bitty Butterflies out and I wanted to use the patterned chevron stamp from Oh Hello, stamped so delicately with Bashful Blue. I discovered how perfectly the punch fits in each segment of the chevron, so the wings are both different, and the body is an exact fit in the white space between the patterns!

I think they're gorgeous, but I am a sucker for anything miniature too!  I finished them off with a row of 3 little pearls, then wound some Lucky Limeade Baker's twine several times around the card, once it was mounted on Pear Pizzaz card, and stamped the greeting from Faith In Nature stamp set.
I like the way those 3 shades of green are similar enough to mix and match them.

Cheers for now

Umbrellas for Color Throwdown236

I loved this picture which Color Throwdown used as the color inspiration starter this week. I always plant pansies in my garden, because of the great profusion of color they provide.

Then, after Stampin' Up! announced the new and returning colors, I was sorting through my retired stocks to see which shades I still had, when what did I find, but Orchid Opulence? That is NOT one of the returning colors, but I still have it because it is such a gorgeous, unusual purple shade.

I received a shipment on Friday which included Rain or Shine stamp set, from the current mini catalogue and available until June 30th for $28.95 (clear mount). It also has stamps for Bridal showers or Baby showers, and you only have to do a quick on-line search to turn up galleries full of inspiration.

Because my husband and I were heading away to the beach for the weekend, I slipped a bag with minimal supplies into the car, and had lots of fun stamping up the umbrellas onto different cards, including one for a baby boy, and this one. Don't the Rich Razzleberry and Orchid Opulence umbrellas look stunning?

We had no need of umbrellas even though it is autumn in Australia. After some chilly weather over Easter to remind us that seasons were changing, we've reverted to a last blast of summer with 27 degrees and sunshine all weekend.

Hope you all had a happy time too
Cheers

Dynamic Duos#46 and Paper Players#139

Primrose Petals and Certainly Celery were my choice for these two challenges and I used the last line of the Paper Players Tic-Tac-Toe, which was pearls, birthday and pink & green.  I had some scraps of the polished stone technique I've been playing about with, so I punched some squares and mounted them on squares in Primrose Petals punched with the postage stamp punch. I stamped with Versamark, using the cute patterned arrow-shape from Oh Hello and a greeting from Friendly Phrases. There was just enough left over of my pink and green patterned paper to punch the tiny butterfly and the large butterfly is from vellum and trimmed with 5 tiny pearls each.

Thanks for popping by,
Rachel

Fathers Day balloons CCMC245

2013 Thursday Challenges-008
Since I am on holiday at the moment, I should really have loads of time for challenges, and yet I have come close to missing entering for this challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.
With Easter, and family, there didn't seem to be as much time.

Tonight, however, I have rustled up this simple little one layer (almost) card to celebrate Father's Day, which isn't until September in Australia, so heaps early!!!

Balloons come from Up Up and Away and the greeting is from Delightful Dozen. I hope that the night photography isn't too dark, thanks for dropping by.

Maybe I will have more time tomorrow,
hope so,
Rachel

100th Birthday! WOW!

Hey, it's not often that you hear of someone turning One Hundred years old, is it?

I don't know this lovely lady personally, but I have been asked to make a card for her upcoming birthday. I have made cards before for the customer who is giving the card and she seems to like the dry-embossed cards quite a lot, so I went with that.

Next, I picked out my favourite colour - Pool Party and added in some silver shimmer.

I used the Window Frames Framelits to cut these shapes - after stamping with Memorable Moments stamps - just made for all those once-in-a-lifetime occasions! It has not only the happy, not only birthday, but anniversary, as well as st, nd, rd, th and numbers 0 to 9, so you can make cards for ANY numerical event you can think of. That's rather handy isn't it?

I was lucky enough to receive this set as one of the many gifts from last year's Stampin' Up Convention in Canberra. In May this year, we are heading off to sunny Brisbane for 4 days of

 Stampin' Up! fun and freebies!

That's just what I call the annual Stampin' Up! Convention anyway.

I shadow stamped the label with a floral stamp from last year's sale-a-bration, Fresh Vintage, and inside it has been stamped twice with the same flower in Pool Party, and a lovely greeting from Blooming with Kindness, "Warmest Wishes on your Birthday", was stamped also. Lastly, some itty bitty blossoms punched from Pool Party card were scattered about and finished off with basic jewel rhinestones for some extra glitter.

I hope the customer who commissioned this card and her wonderful friend are both happy with my effort.

Breaking News!

Firstly, you don't have to wait for the beginning of July to order the  Petite Curly Label Punch (from sale-a-bration), it is available NOW! Item # 129405 and $18.95. Call me 0417500681 or email rplamieri5@bigpond.com

Secondly, as I type this, I'm down-loading My Digital Studio (MDS) to my computer. It is the first of the free gifts for demonstrators attending convention this year (or their guests).
It is also available to order Item #130646 $24.95 OR you can download a mini version for FREE, and give it a trial for 30 days. There are all sorts of free add-ons and other down-loads to purchase weekly at http://www.mydigitalstudio.net/home
Now, I am not the cleverest at computer things but some of my colleagues have been showing off some of their wonderful creations - scrapbook pages, birthday invitations and so on, and I didn't want to be left behind!! (smile) I hate being left out when there's some fun to be had!
Hope you are having fun with your creating too
Cheers, Rachel
