Inspired by Ornate Garden CTC#267 week 1

There are so many ways to be inspired by Ornate Gardens, but this week I'm looking at two pieces of the designer series paper. The paper is always a good place to begin as it provides a colour palette, often quite novel, to kick start creativity.

Lovely Lipstick is not one of the colours used in this paper, as it is due to retire at the end of May, and this Ornate Garden Suite is an early preview from the NEXT Annual Catalogue. I do like the Lovely Lipstick with this paper though. It has been diecut with the largest Ornate Frame. Last Tuesday, I used Lots Of Happy when I recorded a video, and I've used two stamps from that kit on this card too. Truth is, I've misplaced (temporarily, I hope) the small flower stamp from Ornate Style. I remember peeling it off the block and sticking it to something on my desk for safe-keeping, but can't remember exactly what, and it's missing. So sad...

I resolved not to dwell on it, so pulled up my britches and substituted Lots Of Happy so I could finish my card for the blog.

This daisy is another of the 12 gorgeous papers, and I stamped the small daisy from Ornate Style this time. Free As A Bird has the loveliest, 'friendly' sentiments, in such a delicate font too. On Tuesday I will demo this card on Facebook, it is such a nice style of card to show off designer series paper, and these beautifully ornate frames and borders.

Ornate Borders dies is bundled with Ornate Thanks for the 10% discount, while Ornate Layers dies is paired with Ornate Style for the same 10% discount. It's a mighty big suite, and there are several ways to buy it, and yes - it is available to customers NOW! There will be links following this blog, which will link you to my online shop, where you can browse to your hearts content.

Have you been inspired to share something? You don't need to own the Ornate Garden Suite to join in, just perhaps the colours, or florals. I look forward to seeing lots more inspiration on our Challenge page

Lots Of Happy

If you happen to be looking for a project that is easy to do, or perhaps you want to begin stamping but don't know what you need. Stampin' Up! have several kits, some include everything you need, just like the one you see pictured here, while others require you to purchase a co-ordinating stamp set or use your own stamps.

Lots Of Happy is inclusive of everything you need:

  • sentiment and floral stamps
  • acrylic stamp block
  • one inch ink spot to stamp with
  • printed, punch out images to colour
  • labels
  • vellum leaves and other embellishments
  • 4 watercolor pencils
  • ribbon
  • 20 envelopes & cards
Well, I've made cards with my kit, and they're lovely, but I was thinking of ways to change them up a little.

You'll find Lots Of Happy card kit on page 202 of the Annual Catalogue, and then in the current mini catalogue on page 62 you will find some more ideas for stamping with the included stamps, once you've used the supplies provided.
In my video you will see a few other products that I used and I will add them at the end to the product list, if they were Stampin' Up! products. There is the foam mat for stamping Photopolymer stamps, the Blender pen for using with Watercolor pencils or Stampin' Up! ink refills.

Leave a comment here, or on the video, because I will draw a name to receive this card on 14/04/20.

If you live in Australia, I'd love to help you with your crafting needs. You can purchase online by clicking on any of the items below, which takes you to my store. Feel free to browse there as long as you wish. Deliveries are still being picked and shipped in Australia at this point in time.

Occasions Kits CTC#164

Welcome back to another week of CASE-ing The Catty. The crew is made up of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from all parts of Australia and New Zealand. You are at the blog of Rachel Palmieri, Independent Stampin' Up!® demonstrator. I run classes at my home studio in South Morang, Victoria, share Stampin' Up!® products and tools at parties for my customers, coach my lovely team and create cards and the occasional 3D project.

I ordered Lots Of Happy Card Kit straight away because I find a complete kit like this is perfect to pop in your bag when you're heading away for a bit of relaxation. It actually contains EVERYTHING you need except for adhesive of your choice. You get all the materials needed to make 20 great cards, with the envelopes. That could be Tombow, Fast Fuse, Snail or double-sided tape. The dimensionals are included, as are stamps, an acrylic block, a Stampin' Spot (ink pad) ribbon, labels and 4 water color pencils. Maybe you could add a pack of Watercolor Pencils which will add another 11 colours to your range and some adhesive. Then you'd be able to order a free SALE-A-Bration item with your order.

I thought I could share an idea to make the stamp set included in this kit have a longer life when you've finished making the cards included.

Lots Of Lavender is a SALE-A-Bration stamp set which has similar flowers to the ones in the Lots Of Happy Card Kit - does it matter that I think they look more like Lilac? I stamped and coloured the image, before fussy-cutting it. With the kit, you just push the images out of the paper, they're pre-cut. It was quick and easy to use the Narrow Note cards & envelopes(#145583). These are a little small for posting as is, but fabulous for attaching to a smaller gift of flowers, pot plant, home-baked treat or whatever else you can think of.

Painted With Love DSP is gorgeous!!! Very rich, with foil embossing on one side but even the plainer (not embossed) side of this paper range is also beautiful. The first paper on the left is one of those without embossing this side, the other 3 cards I used the lush gold-embossed side.

The other small stamped flower is included in Lots Of Happy Card Kit and there is another flower stamp too, along with five sentiments. You'll be able to use it for other projects once you've finished the kit.

Lots To Love Box Framelit Die has the die to make this compact box to take 4 or 5 of the notecards and envelopes. It was specifically made for that, and comes with a bundled stamp set, Sure Do Love You and another option on the next page, Heart Happiness. Petal Palette was another set I used to decorate the box and one of the cards, and that is a bundled set which you can buy with dies, and get them both at 10% discount.

Boxed like this they make sweet gifts also, and there'd be no reason why you shouldn't make 4 of the lilac above, package them in a box decorated with a lilac too, and perhaps just vary the sentiment.

Next along the hop is the lovely and talented Liz Gross

Now, we want you to CASE the SAB catty and share here on our Facebook page. Don't forget to share which project you've CASE-d.
