Awesome Birthday Owls

Since one owl wears a party hat, that means I need to make a birthday card. The hats were colour-matched to the owl eyes - aren't they so cute? Easy to colour too.

This bird has been coloured with the Black Stampin' Blend, but then a heavy dose of Colour Lifter to soften it. I love the look of it on the True Love DSP, which you'll find on page 11 of the mini catalogue. The reverse side has some great geometric papers.

Poor chick, she's looking a bit confused! I'm not sure if it's because her feet are off the ground, or maybe she expected to fly away with the balloon.

Chick in Party Mode

Would you call yourself a frugal crafter? Mostly I wouldn't but I do save bits of card and leftovers from other projects, so if that's frugal. I'll own it.

It's so much fun playing with paper, and this afternoon I let loose with some scissors and paper scraps while crafting along with Jenn Frost, another Stampin' Up! demo in Victoria. Her card is quite different, although we both used Hey Birthday Chick.

The colours remind me of gelati, cocktails and maybe the image is a little like a hula skirt with lei flowers scattered. They're left overs from a Hydrangea Haven card. Just a frivolous little birthday card, really. Thank you for the inspiration Jenn.
