Colour Creations - Week #41 - Pumpkin Pie

The participants in AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop are all Stampin' Up! demonstrators and members of Art With Heart. We love to Blog Hop sharing all the Stampin' Up! Colours alphabetically. This is week #41 and Pumpkin Pie is our chosen colour.

Since I'm not a great fan of any of the shades of orange, it was a challenge to find a way to use Pumpkin Pie this week. Happily, the Fancy Flora DSP provided a suitable solution with the Starry Sky contrasting strongly with the Pumpkin Pie. They are near-opposites on the colour wheel.

On the inside, a couple of cheeky owls are peeking.

Awesome Owls is a free SALE-A-Bration pick with your $90 order, and you have just 6 more days to redeem it.

Next talented team member to share is Tina, so let's see how she has mixed up the colours!

If at any time you find a broken link or would like to see a full list of participants, please head to the blog of our host of the AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop, Catherine Proctor.

Ranuculus Romance Two Ways

When I was working on my Crushed Curry Project, I used a couple of pieces of Fluid 100 water-colour paper and two different ways of water colouring. The one I shared on Wednesday was my preferred method, wetting the paper and dropping colour onto the paper so it spreads.

It was texture embossed once the paper was dry. There were off-cuts after I had die cut a panel with the Deckled Rectangle dies and some leaves were cut using a leaf similar to the Liquid Amber tree, which colours up so beautifully in autumn.

More stamping with Ranuculus Romance was added to this second card and the full sentiment was stamped on the hexagonal label this time instead of masking part of it as on the first card.

Quite a different card using the same colours, stamps and materials, and a delight to make and share. If you are tempted to add these items to an order you can shop online with me 24/7.

Colour Creations - Week #16- Crushed Curry

The participants in Colour Creations are all Stampin' Up! demonstrators and members of Art With Heart. We love to Blog Hop sharing all the Stampin' Up! Colours. This is week 16 of Colour Creations Blog Hop, and we are sharing Crushed Curry.

Crushed Curry is slotted into the family of Regals. It's a spicy yellow, not as brown as mustard, and the name seems to suit it. I hadn't used it much while Bumblebee was an In Color, but Crushed Curry is back in favour!

My water colouring continues with this week's projects. I still had some experimenting to do. Using wet Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, drops of ink were added to the piece. I mainly used ink refills for this, but where I didn't have one, an acrylic block touched to the ink pad lifts enough to drop with a water painter.

The background is the main feature of this card, but Ranuculus Romance (P 97 AC) was my chosen stamp for the sentiment, while the Ranuculus Dies (P173 AC) have some amazing pieces including the 2 leaves.

After smudging the inside with Crushed Curry ink on my hand, I had to think of a way to save the day. A little stamping inside hid the mess, while still allowing me to write a message.

Colour Creations Week12 - Calypso Coral

The participants in Colour Creations are all Stampin' Up! demonstrators and members of Art With Heart. We love to Blog Hop sharing all the Stampin' Up! Colours. This is week 12 of this round of Colour Creations Blog Hop, and we are sharing Calypso Coral.

Top of my wish list from the Annual Catalogue was Cottage Rose, well actually the whole Abigail Rose suite, and the Split  Card Textures dies. I've paired them here for our Calypso Coral challenge this week, and after using the lattice-style version for a few of these Colour Creations challenges, it's time to let the floral one shine.

Even covered with the art panel, the textured cut out shows a delightful glimpse of Calypso Coral and helps to bring out the colours added to the flower.

The text used on Cottage Rose is an elegant script paired with a straight-forward no-nonsense type, and this one added to the inside is a fave of mine. Aren't these images delicate?

It really is easy to raise the Split Card Texture panels with a mix of 2 sizes of Dimensionals. Early Espresso seemed to call for the black ones this time.

Next on the hop is the amazing Amie
