The participants in Colour Creations are all Stampin' Up! demonstrators and members of Art With Heart. We love to Blog Hop sharing all the Stampin' Up! Colours. This is week 16 of Colour Creations Blog Hop, and we are sharing Crushed Curry.
Crushed Curry is slotted into the family of Regals. It's a spicy yellow, not as brown as mustard, and the name seems to suit it. I hadn't used it much while Bumblebee was an In Color, but Crushed Curry is back in favour!
My water colouring continues with this week's projects. I still had some experimenting to do. Using wet Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, drops of ink were added to the piece. I mainly used ink refills for this, but where I didn't have one, an acrylic block touched to the ink pad lifts enough to drop with a water painter.
The background is the main feature of this card, but Ranuculus Romance (P 97 AC) was my chosen stamp for the sentiment, while the Ranuculus Dies (P173 AC) have some amazing pieces including the 2 leaves.
After smudging the inside with Crushed Curry ink on my hand, I had to think of a way to save the day. A little stamping inside hid the mess, while still allowing me to write a message.

Rachel, I love your soft watercolour handmade DSP - it is so ethereal and lovely. And what a great idea to save the day and cover the smudge on the inside using the writing stamp!
ReplyDeleteThose ink colours work beautifully together to create a hazy cheerful background. The addition of the softly coloured leaves are just lovely Rachel. And I can totally relate to accidental ink smudges but you have covered it up nicely.
ReplyDeleteThe inky, embossed, background is so pretty, Rachel - lovely use of colour. I laughed at your description of smudging ink inside your card (sorry!) ... nice save, though!
ReplyDeleteYour water-coloured background looks incredible, and the layering over the top is perfection. I never would have known that you were covering up a smudge on the inside!
ReplyDeleteOh Rachel, what a gorgeous watercolour background feature. I love your layers and your colour combination - an amazing melding of colours. The addition of the leaf and sprig die cuts with the ribbon accents and the hexagon label is beautiful. Xxx
ReplyDeleteRachel you've managed to "save" that smudge! No one will ever know. I love your watercolouring and how it is broken up by the die cuts.
ReplyDeleteWow, the softness of that water coloured background is gorgeous, Rachel. The colours are perfect and with the darker layer behind, really makes it pop! The hexagon is a nice addition for your sentiment.
ReplyDeleteRachel, your water coloured background is divine, especially with all those little bits and pieces layered over it. Really lovely!
ReplyDeleteYour choice of colours if great Rachel and the black matt is perfect with your brightly coloured watercolour focal panel. (Michele Taylor)
